Saw his listing on Angie's List. Thought we'd roll the dice. Returned my phone call at 7:00 in the evening. We met on May 15, we walked the property, talked for hours. He had insights into a mediocre, slap-dash site plan done by another architect. He offered clever, practical solutions. We sent him a detailed color-copy proposal on June 5. Heard nothing. Pursued him. He made promises about seeing us "after July 4". Called twice. No returned calls.
Description of Work: We needed a retaining wall rebuilt and a patio put in our backyard, as well as drainage solutions for the side yards. It's a city lot so it's only about 625 square feet and difficult to get machines into the back.

HE MADE SEVERAL APPOINTMENTS WITH US AND THEN HE JUST STOPPED SHOWING UP. HE WAS A REALLY NICE GUY AND NEW WHAT HE WAS TALKING ABOUT. HE DID SEND US A LETTER 6 WEEKS AFTER THE FACT THAT HE WAS TOO BUSY AND THAT HE COULD NOT WORK WITH US. I FOUND THAT TO BE RATHER BIZARRE.

THE WORK WAS DONE SUPERBLY. THE QUALITY OF THE PLANTS WAS GOOD AND THE PLANTINGS WERE GOOD. I HAD A ENJOYABLE TIME DOING BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY.

Alan Meinert is a very knowledgeable and experienced person in all phases of landscape services, from design and installation of hardscape (as performed for our property), to design and installation of gardens and other selected exterior projects. Our particular project was completed within the estimated time period and the finished product has added beauty and value to our property. My wife and I give Alan and his crew an A+ for the quality of materials used, their hard work, and their professionalism during the project. We particularly enjoyed working with Alan because of his knowledge, experience, ideas and his 'low-key' approach in our interactions with him.
Description of Work: Our landscaping project was designed and performed by Alan Meinert and his crew. The project involved the following hardscape activities: (1) Upgrade/expansion of an existing brick/timber patio. (2) Installation of a timber retaining wall and adjacent planting bed. (3) Installation of a timber border around the perimeter of the driveway. (4) Installation of a 12-volt landscape 'path lighting' system.
