Affordable Moving And Storage Company

They were supposed to show up on October 24, 2011 at 9:00 a.m. to pack up things in my home. They arrived 5 hours late. They were supposed to send out 2 people but only sent 1. They failed to complete the packing and still demanded $200 for the packing. They were supposed to show up October 25th to finish packing and they never showed up. I tried to call them when they didn't show up on the 25th and their phone numbers were not working. I got voicemail on the cell phone of Michael who showed up on the 24th. They were supposed to show up at 9:00 a.m. on October 26th to move me. When they finally arrived between 12:00 and 1:00 p.m. they sat in the truck and ate pizza and smoked cigarettes. They continued to tell me not to worry and that they would be able to move me. About 10:00 p.m. they told me that they wouldn't be able to completely move me because the truck was full and that they would return the next day. They hadn't even moved my bed yet. I asked them to finish moving my things that evening and they said that couldn't do it because it was dark but for an additional $150 they would. I asked them to at least move my bed into the bedroom because they were going to put everything in the garage. They moved my bed and ended up breaking it and blaming me - my bed was a custom made walnut and oak bed. After they broke my bed, they informed me that they wouldn't be able to come back to finish my move until Nov. 2nd or 3rd because they were too busy with other moves lined up. I had already paid them, in cash, for all of the moving and I finally called them on Nov. 2nd. I got in touch with Michael who was on his way back from North Carolina who said that he was going to call me on Nov. 3rd. I waited on Nov. 3rd for a phone call and I'm still waiting. They won't answer any additional phone calls and I eventually had to hired another moving company. The next moving company moved everything that Affordable had put in my garage into the proper place and finished getting everything out of my old house to my new home.

They were on time and got right to work in packing and loading my things. The movers were very professional and handling all my items with care. The job was done very efficiently and we were able to leave a little early.
