 + 1 moreAfter reaching out to Steve on October 6th, he asked me to email him a list of jobs needed. After receiving it, he didn't follow up immediately but I tracked him down. On October 9th, he came by and walked through our townhouse so he understood the scope of the job. He asked for a few days to prepare an estimate - which we received on October 15th via email. I agreed immediately to his price - it was very reasonable. He said he'd be ready to do the job in 2 weeks. On October 31st, I texted him to ask if he had a date to begin the work. I've never heard from him again. Regretable. We're looking for someone else now. I'm not sure whether or not we'd hire him again since we never got to actually hire him the first time but they require the question be answered. I'm not sure it's applicable.

 + -1 moreMr. Sobien was always on time, and always gave me options which let me decide on my own mix of money and time spent. Some parts needed to be special-ordered or trimmed to size, and the door frames had to be retrofitted to an antiquated, existing structure. The work was done within the time promised, and was always affordable.
Description of Work: I needed to have new ceiling fans installed in a rental property, and have two new doors installed.

 + -1 moreExcellent. Steve evaluated the house and determined that staining it would be the best course of action. He provided me with recommendations for the type of stain and suggested colors that would best match so that the newly stained house would match the best. The choice was up to me but I appreciated his recommendations and chose the type of stain and color he suggested. He power washed the house to prepare it for staining and then stained it, with attention to tiny details like the trim around the door and a visible cable that the cable company had previously routed along the side exterior of the house. The end result is beautiful. It looks like a brand new house.
Description of Work: The wood siding exterior of my house needed power washed and re-painted or re-stained. It had been peeling and the wood was no longer smooth.

Description of Work: At least once a year, my wife and I draw up a list of home repairs that we need. We present the list (with explanations) to our "Handy-Man" Steve Sobian. This year (Spring/Early Summer 2017) the list included electrical work, shed repair and painting, ceiling repair and painting/kitchen caulking and finally, the "tightening up" of a shaky Tiffany-type table lamp.

 + -1 moreHe came to see the work I wanted done, but NEVER CALLED TO GIVE AN ESTIMATE, EVEN AFTER I CALLED HIM AGAIN. I WOULD NEVER CALL HIM AGAIN OR RECOMMEND HIM TO ANYONE.

Description of Work: We gave Steve a long list of repairs & maintenance involving blinds & curtain rod installation, an outdoor electrical outlet replacement, repair of a kitchen sliding shelf, installation of two florescent light diffusers and replacement of bulbs, ceiling tile replacement, and carpet installation.
