Crook. They charge $200 for an estimate and if they don't want the job they give you an estimate that would buy a small house. He climbed the ladder to make the estimate charge look worthwhile. Took photos. Emailed me right away from his truck. I guess he was in a hurry to see if I was a big sucker. Well, I was a sucker to pay for the estimate. His karma will come back to him.

Had 2 chimneys swept. I had a home show special price which was comparable to other chimney sweeps I have used. The men who showed up were polite and cleaned two chimneys. The problem came with the repair. They took video and showed me problems with my flue and said that was causing the leaking we experienced. They then went out to the truck and called the boss. They told me I needed to have my chimney rebuilt and a second chimney needed a liner. The cost of rebuilding the chimney was $18,000. I got a second opinion from Affordable Chimney Sweep. He swept a third chimney that we did not have done by Advance. I did notice it took him a much longer time even though he charged $50 less. Additionally, he said the leak could be solved by silicone caulking on the crown which he did for $200. We have had several hard rains since and no leaking. I don't believe we ever needed to rebuild our chimney.

When they arrived 2 guys stormed in and out in a matter of 20 mins & tried to charge me $280? Owner was notifed and had a 2nd go at it only for the same crappy service! No way never again! Don't make the mistake I did go with anybody else.

They guys did a very professional job and cleaned up after themselves well. They inspected both chimneys and found some future problems with the one. They explained to us the damages and were very helpful and knowledgeable. Will definitely us Advance Chimney Sweeps and Recommend them in the future.

I had a water heater installed last Friday and the installer recommended that I contact Advanced Chimney Products because they were inexpensive. I called, and spoke to a receptionist, who said minimum cost would be $190 (or $198 - I forget). I asked what about the $160 costs I had seen on Angie's list- they were going to inspect and clean out the chimney. They said that was a special, would not honor it any more, and I told them I would call other's on Angie's list.
I got a quote for $169 from a highly rated company on Angies List, and spoke to someone who seemed knowledgeable what possibly could be the problem and possible solutions, depending what they found. I had a lot more confidence in other company, and at a lower price!! I gave other company the work

It was an icy morning, yet the chimney sweep was on time at 7:30 in the morning. I called home from work and was confused as to why he was cleaning the chimney from the bottom up. He got on the phone said this was the case in many instances and I responded with, but the clog is up really high, (some 30 feet up). My daughter watched him work and did say he went up on the roof and cleaned from the top down. I called the office to inquire about the bottom up cleaning. The secretary was really nice and said, I have to report this to the owner, Mike as I didn't understand the initial cleaning from the bottom up and then top down. Mike called me back within minutes. He was patient and answered all my questions. I did not know that sweeps did clean from the bottom up if the rod can make the bend in the pipe. The sweep went up on my roof, (perhaps just to please me but the bend in the bottom of the pipe is sharp.) Anyway, Mike was patient with answering my questions, the sweep explained things to my daughter who was home with him. The sweep was really neat and left no mess. (Honestly, there was not a speck of soot on the floor or around.) Really pleased with everyone I encountered. Oh, and the fire is burning as it should now.

They were on time, professional, polite. Neat and tidy. After inspecting the chimney, the technician noted that all is well, however, the flue is off track upon opening and closing. He then suggested installation of a chimney cap, which would be easier to operate and keep the bugs and varmints out, once it is closed. He gave me a quote as well, and set up a time to return for the work.
They came 2 weeks later, and installed it. The work was done within an hour with 2 people, they were neat and clean. Very courteous and on time. I have not used the flue as yet with the fireplace on, however, a dry run with the pulley works fine.
Overall , I am satisfied and would recommend them to others.

We signed up with Advanced Chimney Sweeps after seeing them at a home and garden show. We were very impressed. They did a wonderful job, no dirt/mess was left in our house and the two men were extremely professional. They explained everything that we could do to improve our chimney and helped to identify which could versus should be done. A written estimate was provided for all suggested repairs with individual prices provided. They did not pressure us to book them for the repairs, just stated the facts. I would definitely use Advanced Chimney again.

I will 100% use this company again. The service tech arrived on time and took great care not to get any ash or dirt anywhere in my house. He answered all of my questions and also told me about a concern with our chimney cap that needs repaired that I will schedule in the near future before the winter season is upon us.
Also, Mike, who I assume to be the person in charge, if not the owner, has EXCELLENT customer service skills! I called to verify payment after hours the day before my appointment and I found out that they do not take credit cards. Mike called me himself to work out a deal to ensure that I can have the service done and not be charged a cancellation fee and went out of his way to make me happy. I have never had such an experience where someone took time out of their life to treat me like I am one of the most important customers he has and I appreciate it very much and will ALWAYS use Advance Chimney Sweeps in the future.

"First and foremost I put the safety of my employees ahead of anything. This lady is the rudest, most arrogant individual with a total lack of regard for a persons safety. What this lady is saying is a complete fabrication of the truth and in fact she didn't pay anyone to be at her place. Her son was the person who had met our technicians. The first time we went out our ladder wasn't long enough to access the roof because this lady didn't give us accurate information. We did make another attempt, but once our technician gained access to the roof he didn't feel comfortable and asked if he could come down and I conceded to his request. Keep in mind that this individual gets on roofs everyday and is used to heights, but accessibility to this lady's chimney was difficult to say the least. knowing this lady has cost me a couple hundred of dollars paying my service techs to go to her place and I didn't charge her a penny, so she's not out a red cent. I talked to this lady and explained that my techs weren't comfortable on her roof and she yelled and said do you know who I am, do you really know who I am and of course I replied by saying that I never heard of her and she said my guys werent qualified to work at Walmart. When she said it cost her money, she is blatently lying. Her son was the one that met my service techs and she also implied that my technician was fat. This is the cold hard truth and I saved her message and anyone reading this who wants to hear it, can call my office anytime and I will allow them to her rude arrogant message. I opened business so that I didn't have to deal with individuals such as this lady. Check our credentials and you will see that they speak for themselves. I did threaten this lady with legal action if she made a derogatory remark about me or my company and I am a man of my word so my attorney is already in the process of dealing with this issue. Some people think they are better than others and have a sense of entitlement, but I don't care how much you make or what you do. I am one of the largest chimney companys in the state because I treat all my customers with the upmost respect, but I also insist that my employees and myself are treated in the same manner."

We've had them out twice. The first time they cleaned and inspected our chimney with a camera. The gentleman showed me everything. He was really a nice guy and answered all my questions. He let us know that there were a couple of birds that had gotten down in our chimney and said that we should have cap on it. He gave me an estimate on how much that would be. He prompted me to contact his boss so that he could set it up and order once. They came out recently and installed it.

The owner came to my house first and gave me an estimate. After that he sent three people to the house for the work. During the work I found they did something wrong. I called the boss, and he explained the tuckpointing would be enough and the bricks would not need to be removed. After he came and looked at the roof from my asking, he agreed I was correct. He was very polite the entie time and made the changes per my request. We also had some issues with the shingles with nail holes, but he sent out a roofer afterwards to help me with these things. He cooperated and worked with me well whenever we had issues arrise. He offered me a discount for the trouble, and I greatly appreciated this. It made me feel like the company cared about my concerns and made me feel comfortable even when problems arose. I would refer them to others because of their attitude and responsiveness.

I found this company at the Pittsburgh Home & Garden Show, where I filled out a contact card. After several weeks of not hearing from the, I called to schedule an appt to get an estimate. We were told that they were very busy and would not be able to come out to do an estimate for several months. They eventually did call back (about 7 weeks later) and made an appointment to come out to do the estimate. They arrived over an hour later than the scheduled time, which was supposed to be the first appt of the day. When the service tech arrived, he indicated that he had been told that we were looking for a complete re-build and seemed annoyed that he was sent out for what apparently to them is a small job. He quickly inspected the chimney, gave a written report of condition, and said that the actual estimating was done back at the office and that someone would be in touch. Despite our calling twice in the last 2+ weeks to get an update, we still have not received an estimate and now would not contract with this company no matter what price they gave us. If they can't even be bothered to do the estimate, what should I expect after I award them the job?

Advanced Chimney told us that the chimney was clean and did not need to clean it. They told us that we could not use our chimney until we had it repointed.
