Extremely well. I call Adams Construction for everything. The work and work ethic are impeccable. The estimates are very reasonable. As a professional property manager in the Real Estate industry for 21+ years, I've worked with an array of contractors. None compare to Adams Construction. Call Adams and get your projects done right the 1st time.

Every one was Professional and very punctual. Had no trouble staying late if a job needed to be finished. Very easy to work with and get along with working along side them as I remodeled other parts of the house. Kept everything tidy each day and respectful of the things that were already there. Very I’m impressed with quality and keeping on schedule and making sure everything was don’t to standards and not leaving till every one as satisfied. Very good pricing and value. Would higher 100 time over.

Exceptionally well. I'm excited to give this review, he deserves it. Ryan knows his business and his work is impeccable. Unlike any other contractor I've ever had the pleasure of working with. Ryan goes above in doing the job. He's a true pro.

Ryan Adams is very responsive and always makes time to answer any questions that come up. He and his crew have a lot of experience remodeling older homes, and that experience has been invaluable as issues always end up presenting themselves with large home remodels.

Ryan, Bob (my contact/crew) and Mike were very easy to work with as well as professional and personable. Bob really did an outstanding job with a challenging tile layout and creating a custom cabinet to match an existing cabinet that I was reusing. I will happily contact Ryan for future projects and highly recommend him to others. The original time frame for my project was under-estimated, but my choice of tile probably added some of the additional time.

I hired Adams Construction to perform two (2) simultaneous renovations in the Uptown neighborhood of Pittsburgh. To summarize, the company is top notch. Communication, punctuality, professionalism in treating the work site, etc etc were all excellent. Over the course of 8 months I got to know every crew member and they are all skilled, friendly, and hard working. Even when I encountered setbacks Ryan (owner) came up with practical solutions that could be implemented immediately. I would highly recommend Adams Construction and I plan to use them again and recommend to others in the real estate field.

Adams Construction performed a complete remodel on both of my bathrooms and replaced the joists and ceiling under one of the bathrooms as the existing shower was sagging into the floor. From beginning to end Ryan and his workers were responsive, on time and flexible with me as needed. They did not cut corners and took the time to do things the right way. The quality of work was high, especially with the tile work and trim. I feel I got an excellent value for my money.

Stage 1 of the project started out okay, with two major issues. The rest of the project was a disaster, to the point where we cut our losses (and it was a loss) and fired them - though of course by that point we had paid almost all of what was in the contract. Stage 1 was complete demo of the first floor down to the studs, removing of walls and putting up structural beams and footers in the basement to create an open concept first floor. We had a structural engineer create all the plans so Adams was only responsible for executing that plan. Two major issues: 1) There was a bracket holding one of the ceiling beams that was supposed to be a certain size according to the diagram - because on the day they wanted to do the installation they couldn't find the right size, they bought a bigger size and just installed it. The impact was the ceiling header of >20 ft. length now was wider than it should have been and did not line up with the vertical column any longer. 2) The diagram called for the same >20 ft. length of beam to have one endpoint close to our front door. Because in their look at it they felt like they couldn't put the post in the spot shown in the drawing, without asking us they decided to move that endpoint and put it in a different spot. Of course, we didn't realize that until the beams were all purchased and being installed. The impact is that when you walk through the front door, instead of being able to see directly into that large open space, there is a wall partially blocking the view. This trend continued throughout the project and following stages. They did not communicate changes or ask for our input, did incredibly sloppy work - and the worst part, it was NEVER their fault. Even when we had pictures and proof of the shortcuts being taken, the owner adamantly insisted on something else, someone else being at fault. Some examples of how shoddy the work was (list is too long to put fully): 1) They literally installed and re-installed all our kitchen cabinets more than four times and it still wasn't right. We had to have relatives travel from a different state to help us install the cabinets correctly. 2) All our walls are bowed and have splotches from amateur and rushed drywall installation. 3) Other contractors continually had to re-do their work because Adams workers would cover up things they shouldn't, forget to do something they should, break something that someone else had installed correctly, etc. We heard from a contractor who works with them that they used to do high quality work but now just rush, rush, rush through their jobs and he warned them it would catch up to them at some point. Hopefully this review helps others not go through the mess and stress and terrible experience that we did. One note is that the owner did have hip surgery during the duration of the project and so was not around as much as we thought he would be - though of course even when he was there, things were still done wrongly and with many excuses.

Response from Adams Construction
This is incorrect , all work was based on customers homemade drawings because they refused to get architect drawings in order to save money. The customer had our team move things several times because it " looked different than their vision " They ultimately had a problem with every trade. Plumber, eletriction and hvac! It got to the point where we would do what they wanted based on Mark's they put on walls where they wanted things then wanted it changed after the fact. We left one day and took pictures. The next day a cabinet was unscrewed and moved, they cracked it and blamed it on us. Ultimately we came to an agreement for us to leave after they were doing work outside my building permit . We try to please everyone but not everyone can be pleased. This job was a year ago. There were no complaints when we left.

I would NOT recommend Adam’s Construction. Initially I had high hopes based on previous reviews I saw online but could tell right away we were in for a rough time. We had our only full bathroom gutted and completely redone. We bought all new fixtures and paint to be installed and Adam’s supplied the rough materials. Ryan the owner would drop in from time to time but would never say when he was showing up. I expected to see him a lot more than I did, and think his presence might have made a huge difference in the overall outcome of the job. It started going downhill when is plumber didn’t shut the water off completely to instill our new tub, there was a leak that dripped down into our basement half bath. Instead of letting us know, they tried to clean it up with our box of tissues. In doing so they damaged our drop ceiling tiles, which ultimately got replaced. The plumber also got their blue PVC pipe glue on our carpets. Ryan Adam’s tasked one man with hanging the dry wall, taping and sanding it, installing the tile, painting and caulking. Unfortunately for us this man was not detail oriented AT ALL nor did he seem to specialize in any of these fields. There were multiple incidents where he laid tile incorrectly and had to rip it up and redo it. For example we bought floor tile that was about 4”x 24” so the plan was to lay it at a 1/3 offset. Once he had finished the first 6 rows were correct, but the final 5 rows were not. Our saving grace was that Ryan scheduled the electrician to come BEFORE the tile had set up and stepped all over it, shifting the tile and making it not level, so they were forced it to pull it up and relay it properly. Ryan’s worker and Ryan himself tried to justify how the initial floor tile job that was done incorrectly was actually correct after we questioned it. Another example of poor craftsmanship was with our mosaic. We weren’t told to buy a tile with a mesh backing so instead we bought one that we liked and it was a tile with a paper front. Ryan’s worker struggled to get it hung and it looks very sloppy, but I can’t really blame him for that because it wasn’t a product he was familiar with. But that’s not the bad part. The bad part is that you can see the red drywall (painted with water sealant) through the glass tile. Meaning there isn’t any mortar behind those tiles! The paint job that was done was awful as well. Ryan’s worker decided to paint our new, already white, register cover and ventilation fan cover, which looks terrible. Additionally, he broke one of the shades on our light fixture during installation and didn’t even offer to replace it! By the end of the job we were so ready to have them out of our house that we decided to seal the shower ourselves, and will undoubtedly have to repaint the entire room. I am heartbroken and feel taken advantage of. Please do NOT consider Adam’s Construction! Additional comments added 3/21/19: I'd like to reply to the Adams Construction’s response on my original review, "This is not typical of our work. One of our guys got hurt so we hired a new guy. He is no longer employed by Adams construction. He was let go the day this job was completed. We couldn't wait for our guy because he was in the hospital, our other guys were on another job. Once we started she was very adamant on it must be done because that's their only full bathroom. This was a full gut that I explained it will be 10 to 14 days, after we started they wanted it done in 4. I hired a new guy and it was a bad choice. Our other reviews speak for themselves. This was a isolated incident and I corrected the mater. We strive to make our customers happy.

Ryan and his team remodeled our old 1950’s Pittsburgh bathroom into a modern, updated space which we now enjoy every day. They performed a complete demo where they removed our old plaster walls, a window in the shower area, tiles in the shower area, and half wall tiles throughout the bathroom. They provided their own plumber and updated our bathtub plumbing and set the bathtub. They tiled the shower area and installed paint-ready drywall. They even applied the baseboard and set the toilet and vanity. Ryan and his team were respectful, on time, cleanly, and polite—not to mention super knowledgeable of their craft. They were quick to pick up any needed supplies for the job that were considered preferences, like tile and grout as well as faucet fixtures, without charging extra. We are so happy with their thorough work and we recommend them for an affordable way to renovate!

I am so pleased with the outcome of the remodel. I told Ryan Adams that I wanted to brighten the basement and laundry area.
