Abracadabra and Valerie were very responsive. I had called so many handyman in the area and didn't get any call backs. Valerie responded to my phone call within a day or two and was able to communicate via email, which was very easy for me. The work is of good quality and Valerie will give you great recommendations while keeping a budget in mind. And I loved that I could support a woman owned business.

We used Abracadabra to take on the giant task of refinishing the walls in our house. At some point, one of the previous owners put a texture on the wall. The problem is they used a ceiling texture, so there were spikes everywhere all over the walls. We initially got quotes to replace all the plaster with dry wall. That was turning out to be way too expensive. We moved on to try to find someone to smooth out the walls. Most companies didn't have the expertise to smooth out the plaster, they simply wanted to tear it out and replace it with dry wall. Enter Abracadabra. They were able to provide the expertise to smooth out our walls and make them look brand new! The crew was super friendly and provided regular updates. This job was insanely dirty, trying to sand plaster walls and refinish them. In the end, they left the house pretty clean for such a dirty job. The walls came out perfectly, we get a lot of compliments. Overall, I would definitely recommend Abracadabra and would use them again in the future.

We had to move from PA to CA relatively quickly for work. Originally, we lined up separate paint, landscaping, carpet and house cleaning contractors. We needed the work to be done, to be above reproach, we would have no time to go back and forth with a private, non-commercial landlord. Contractor coordination, communication, as well as finalizing sequence of events became problematic. We found Valerie at Abracadabra coincidentally, and at the last minute, Valerie came over same day to inspect the property, we had a final quote to do all the work with a schedule next day, replacing all four contractors. The crew at Abracadabra executed on time with top quality results. They interacted with the movers and the neighbors professionally and politely. They represented our interests firmly but very diplomatically with the, as expected, problematic landlord. We got our full deposit returned within 30 days. I would recommend Abracadabra to anyone looking for one stop shopping in order to leave a leased or rented property in the best shape possible.

Abracadabra Contracting Services did a great job. I bought the paint, because I wanted to use a specific brand, and they worked with me on this. Although I selected the colors, Valerie helped me make some decisions which were spot on. They suggested an add-on, which I approved, and then I asked for a small addition, which they approved. All went smoothly and the job was completed as planned.

I had a leak in a bedroom ceiling that caused half of the ceiling to be completely replaced and repainted, including some paint touch ups to the walls. I called several people but Abracadabra returned my call promptly, was able to fit me in to their schedule, AND work over the weekend to get the job done. They came the next day to determine cost and length of time, and the day after that, the work had begun. I had a thorough review of exactly what was included, Seth was right on time every day, he was prepared with drop cloths to protect my home, and the job was completed within the time frame, as promised. He also made sure that I saw the progress after each step was completed to make sure I was satisfied. The bedroom looks like NEW and no one would ever guess that there was a giant whole cut out. They also replaced the insulation and got rid of any mold with a better quality product than I had before. Bonus: this company is woman-owned! Val came out for my initial review and she has an impressive background in Interior Design, Architecture and Contracting from the ground up. I would highly recommend them to anyone looking for General Contracting work. They aren't the cheapest company out there, but the quality and craftsmanship will make sure you don't have to do it twice.

They were outstanding. They were concentrated to make sure they did the job correctly. I wished I could them an A+. They were superb.

They are unbelievable and well organized. The owner is so precise and checks everything. This company is detailed. Every time they leave my house, I am always satisfied. When they are working, they are very cautious about all of my furniture and belongings.

Abracadbra was great to work with. The company responded within the day of inquiry, and set up an appointment for an estimate immediately. The estimate was provided promptly, and the house painting began within a week of the original inquiry. The contractors were polite and professional, and communicated clearly about work to be done and time frames (Thanks Seth, Val, and Greg!). The job was done beautifully and recommendations were helpful. They even added on work of removing some trim at the last minute when we decided to replace it.
