This happened on Saturday and they were the only service provider open so I took my machine there since it was urgent. I was not told that they were closed on Monday and would not be able to look at my machine until Tuesday. That was upsetting as it was the reason I went there in the first place. It's a pretty casual operation. They open around 11 am or whenever the service person getrs there. It is a dirty looking store room and it is manned by one person. His diagnosis was that Windows was corrupt on the hard drive and he offered to reinstall Windows for $250. First, it was an old computer and I was ready to replace it. Second, I could do that much by myself once I was sure there were no motherboard problems. The major problem with this approach was that my data would be erased.Instead I opted to buy a new machine at Office Max for $400 and was able to attach my old hard drive and recover all my data intact.

They are very, very good. I've taken computers there twice in the last year. The first time was because I had a virus that made the computer inoperable and he fixed it. The cost was very reasonable. The shop is kind of run down looking but he knows what he is doing. Two weeks ago we had a number of power outages and one morning my computer wouldn't work. I am putting together 50 years of family photos for a DVD for an anniversary and I had all the pictures on the computer. I immediately took it to him and he diagnosed it. It was a blower power supply. Within three days I had the computer back at a very reasonable cost. The computer worked better than it ever had. The part was around $80 and the total charge was $125 for that repair. I would definitely use them again.
