A & N LAWN SERVICE

They used their own people to do all work. The pour went totally bad. They took a hot dyed load of concrete that actually set up in the truck enroute to the job site. As a result the coloration was marbled or blotched. Edging could not be performed. Joints could not be made. Finishing was impossible as they added water to make it more workable. (A BIG NONO). I contacted the owner and upon arriving at the site asked me what I thought? I said "It's terrible". He freaked out, started yelling at me and told his people to get off the job. He flew off the job and the Project Manager and I came to an agreement. Bottom line, he jack hammered it all up and brought in a concrete professional to redo the finish work. This time the job was done properly. He regraded the yard put down top soil and seed and was paid in full. This was late Fall and the grass was just growing when we had our last leaves falling. I could not remove them due to disrupting the seed taking roots. Unfortunately they laid over winter and just two weeks ago they were blown off the yard. Needless to say grass coverage is sporatic. However the problem seems to be the drainage. Pools of water still remain on the surface indicating that not enough top soil or improper grading or both did not accomplish what the contractor was hired to do. I contacted his office and via cell phone left a message for assistance. About 1 week later he called and I explained what is written above. I asked he drive by to assess the problem and determine what should be done. Two days later I received an email from someone from the company telling me for $850.00 they would redo the lawn portion of the service which I originally paid $1,100.00. Poor performance leading to a future problem. Original problem not remedied for which he was hired. Lack of whatever you expect to be responsible for a professional job. What issues does he face according to his obligations as a registered contractor with the State of Pennsylvania. What about warranty obligations via State regulations. I believe labor warranty in this State is 1 year. The grass is not as important to me as the proper grading and amount of top soil to eliminate my standing water problem. I need you help. Thank you. Requested an estimate over A & N's web site. No response. called a week later set up an appointment for 6/1 he was very prompt and professional. gave a ballpark price on the work. I was told I would have a formal estimate by Monday. It never arrived. called again on 6/8 was told that it was complete and he would E-mail it right away. It has yet to arrive. I CANNOT RECOMMEND this company. They seem to have issues with follow through......UPDATE. Signed a contract wasn't given a start date kept getting put off. to the point it was to late in the year. gave this guy one last shot to do the work april rolls around. contractors complete a driveway for a neighbor and I have yet to hear from him . Thank god no money exchanged hands! I called him asked whats going on said he was getting things together. a week went buy I started entertaining other bids called him and told him I need to go in another direction. UNRELIABLE!

The lawn service was absolutely horrible. They did not bag the grass and left mounds of grass in the yard to die and turn brown. In addition, they did not do a good job of mowing the entire yard and missed many spots, leaving long tufts of grass throughout the yard. The last time they were here, they also cut part of my hosta with the trimmer. I had them a total of three times and cancelled the service. On April 15th, I had contracted A & N to also do some other yard work, including hauling in fill dirt, top soil, grading a hill, and building and pouring a concrete walk-way and stairs through the yard. At that time, I was told that they would be out in 3-4 weeks to complete the work. After 4 weeks, I called to inquire when they would be out. I was told due to rainy weather, it would be another 2-3 weeks. At the end of 7 weeks, I called again and was again told it would be another 2 weeks. After 10 weeks, I called somebody else and hired them. When I called to inform A & N that I would not require their services since they still hadn't shown up after 10+ weeks, I was told that they would have eventually gotten to me. Unfortunately, I wasted all spring and part of the summer waiting for a contractor who never showed up. The only good news is that they did not require a down payment before work started, so I did not have to fight to get any money back.

They never called back.

When some flowers died they came back and replaced them at no extra cost. I found their prices a little higher than what I was looking for. They did show on time but this is a young landscaping business and needs experience. They worked for my former landscaper. The work was good, but not great. They need seasoning to be more artsy with their work but they are nice people.

QUALITY OF WORK WAS NOT UP TO MY STANDARDS. THEY WERE NOT VERY FLEXIBLE IN WHAT I THOUGHT THEY SHOULD DO.
