I e-mailed PTS on 8/31/15 to meet at my home to review a leaning tree and discuss planning to install new trees. I got a response the next day which contained questions on what sort of trees I wanted. I answered this w/o a response. I mailed a second time on 9/11/15 asking if my mail was received and if they were interested - NO RESPONSE - enough said.

Greg and his team have been helping us with everything tree and yard related for several years now. They've done just about every job imaginable in our yard, including being so kind as to set up a natural play area for our kids ("balance beams" perched securely on logs of varying height), made up of some felled tree trunks from our yard. We've had several large trees removed, sod planted, fallen trees removed, fences repaired, pruning, tons of dirt brought in for a large raised bed garden area? We trust them and always look forward to the possibility of seeing Greg's sweet dog, Guinness, who sometimes goes out on jobs with him. Greg is very knowledgeable and skilled at what he does, as is his crew. His wife, Mia, is always cheerful and helpful in getting things scheduled. The only problems we've ever had, had to do with scheduling, but I believe this is only because he is very busy. He's always personally been on every job at least for a portion of it - he's been here the whole time for the larger jobs, and pops in to check on the very capable crew with the smaller jobs that we've hired him for.

Greg and his crew are very professional and thorough. The crew showed up about 8am and surveyed the area where the tree was to be removed asking about location of septic system and well. They got right to work positioning the truck with the chipper/shredder and then the crane. It was interesting to watch them work. By noon the entire tree was down, which I found pretty amazing considering the size of it. They made it look easy though they are definitely hard workers, and there is a lot of danger inherent in this type of work.. In the process, they had chipped/shredded a bunch of stuff but also cut up a lot for firewood to leave behind for me. The crane left, the crew had a quick lunch, and then began working on pruning the second tree, also chipping./shredding some stuff and leaving behind some more firewood. While the pruning was going on, part of the crew had brought in a stump grinder and began worming on the stump of the large tree, creating a huge mound of mulch. Throughout the day, I noticed the crew being pretty meticulous about cleaning up. They were doing a lot of raking to get all the debris up, and also used a leaf blower to take care of the fine coating of sawdust that was all over the driveway and walkways. All vehicles/equipment and crew left late in the afternoon, leaving some nice firewood and some mulch which will come in handy in the spring. But also left behind were many huge tree trunk sections laying in front of the house. Greg had said a truck would be by the next day to get them. 10am the next day a trunk showed up and removed the large trunk sections in no time at all. I couldn't be happier with the job done by PA Tree Service and would not hesitate to use their services again.

They arrived sooner than expected, finished the job promptly.

Removed a 40-50 foot native Maple limb which was on the swing set, yard, porch, and sun setter for 275.00. Then to prevent or at least prolong the chance of it happening to another limb, They pruned the tree for 575.00 total 850.00. It looks so much better and they even cut and stacked the large wood, all I said was they can leave it, figuring I would do that myself, I came home to a perfectly clean back yard, a stack of evenly cut wood I was totally blown away about that, made my day so much better. I have two cedar trees one that Pecos tree people totally cut the top half off before we moved here and a 60 foot cedar out front that I may want taking down and I Know who I am going to call. This price was great, just to compare I had a quote from a well known, well respected tree company that services a huge area. Their quote was 750.00 ONLY to remove the Limb, nothing else.

We recently bought a house on a property with a number of mature trees and overgrown shrubs that hadn't been pruned in a very long time. We had Greg come in and remove a number of overgrown shrubs and also take care of a number of trees that had dead branches. He noted that one of our trees was essentially hollow on the inside and could be in jeopardy of falling over so we had that tree removed as well. We got estimates from a couple of different services that were comparable. We decided to go with Greg because he seemed the most professional and knowledgeable. On the day of service, I requested a few additional items that had been included in the price of our other estimates such as cutting back some of our wild grasses and cutting back branches of our neighbors trees that were hanging over our property line. While I should have inquired how much more this would cost, because all our estimates were fairly close in price, I assumed the cost would be fairly negligible. Instead it ended up costing over 1.5 times as much. Greg was very accommodating when I approached him and worked with us to reduce the price so that we were happy. He let us know the two additional projects took a considerable amount of time and he also let us know that often his prices are a bit higher than others because he does everything above board, including paying taxes and liability insurance, etc. Overall, the quality of work was very good and Greg was very knowledgeable. We have and will use him again.

I have been using PA Tree Service for about 15 years. Greg has been great. He always goes above and beyond for his customers. He may not always be the least expensive but definitely the best. A few years ago, we had a very bad storm. My neighborhood was a disaster area. A very large tree fell on the roof of my house and was blocking the back door. When I called Greg, he happened to be on my street. Although it was Sunday and he was extremely busy, he came to my house to pull the tree off my roof so we could get out the door. Once the tree was removed, he noticed a few holes in my roof. It was supposed to rain again that night so Greg went to Home Depot and put tarps on the roof just to hold me over until I could get a roofer to the house. Saved me from some huge problems!

It took a bit of time to arrange for them to do the work because they were so booked after recent storms. However, once the work was scheduled, the job was done very well and promptly.

They did a great job. They were very nice. I felt they were a little high on price. I am looking at doing more work, but I don’t want to spend so much money, and so I haven’t called them back. I would contact them in the future at least for a bid.

They arrived right at the time they said they would and started the work immediately. An excellent job was done and they took great care of our property - totally cleaned up the area where they were working. Great team work and very professional. Thrilled with the work they did and would hire them again in a heart beat.

Their price seemed very high so we chose a different company.

There was a storm in the interim before they came out. There was a Locust tree that was dead and blew over, knocking into my trees on the way down. I asked them to come and look at this and they were able to come out that same day. They were out the next day with equipment to remove the tree because it was a danger to the house. It was amazing that they were able to help me out that quickly. They provided advice and were there with the equipment necessary.

I received an immediate response from contacting this company via e-mail. Within a week Greg had come out and gave me a written estimate on the spot. He was very professional and friendly and gave us a very detailed estimate. Unfortunately his price was somewhat higher than another landscaper we chose to use. However, I feel that if we had gone with Greg and PA tree service, the work would've been completed in a much quicker time than the company we're dealing with now!
