Response from Johnson Surveying
Your review does not accurately reflect my skills and professionalism as a surveyor nor the respect I regularly demonstrate towards my clients. As far as there being "absolutely NO communication at all", I suggest you speak to your husband since all communications were with him and never you. I had a number of phone calls with your husband, one call in particular was to set up a payment program which allowed you to make four payments. This is not a typical billing procedure for my company, this was arranged as a courtesy to you. The survey I did for you involved locating the four corners of your house and measuring the elevation of the finished floor. The foot of snow on the ground had absolutely no impact on the accuracy of the survey. In fact your husband praised me for working in the difficult and snowy conditions. Please take the time to visit the FEMA website. Here you will find information that will educate you on the situation you have with regards to your property and flood insurance. In summary, you are in an AE Flood Zone. This placement was previously determined by FIS (Flood Insurance Study) which is a detailed method of analysis. The elevation certificate that I filled out for you confirms that you are indeed in the 100 year flood plane, therefore, mandatory flood insurance purchase requirements apply. I spoke with your husband about the high rates that you will be charged and explained to him that I do not determine insurance rates. As a surveyor, I work carefully and diligently to be sure my field work is spot on, I then document my readings and report my findings with accuracy and integrity. I am sorry you are unable to understand my job as a surveyor and thusly felt compelled to write a negative and inaccurate review 6 months after I completed the job. I reached out to you after reading your review. My intent was to make it clear to you that I did the job I was hired for and that the insurance company sets the rates for insurance, not I.
