Johnson Surveying

I called Tim on a Sunday. The survey was done by Tuesday, and the paperwork received by Monday, so from first call to finish, 8 days. Tim was professional, thorough and speedy. I would recommend him to all.

The job went well. Easy to work with.

He responds to me in the same day, and answered all my concerns , and made an appointment to do the job in the same week, and came on time and spend like 2 hours working with his tools, that was a Friday Monday 7:30 he send every thing to me by email , The elevation certificate for my house, and prepared a LOMA, to the FEMA., He promised that he will contact me again as soon as the FEMA study my case, and due to his work, the flood insurance was decreased too much, and may be removed at all after FEMA, responds to the LOMA. he knows what he do, and he charges a very reasonable price, and very fast. I am expanding my garage, and needed a copy of my property survey for the contractor. Tim did a survey for me in 2011 for a new septic system, so I asked if he could send me a copy, as I never received one when the work was originally done. I told him I would be happy to pay for the copy, expecting a nominal charge, comparable to what other surveyor companies charge for copies of surveys they had done. We corresponded for two weeks. Tim couldn't find the original plan, so he contacted his draftsman, who provided first a copy requiring software I had no access to. Tim suggested I take the file to a printing service and have them print a copy, but after trying two print facilities who also didn't have the software, I asked Tim for a PDF, which his draftsman provided. The surprise came when Tim indicated he would be charging me for the time it took him to search out the files, plus the time his draftsman spent on the request, indicating that the fee would be $175 for his time. I was very much surprised at this amount, particularly as I had never received a copy of the survey when the work was first done. To make sure I wasn't off the mark myself, I queried five local surveying companies, asking what they would charge one of their customers for a copy of their survey. They indicated an average charge of $25 for a copy. I sent an email to Tim with what I had found, but received no answer . Nearly two weeks went by. Then I received an email from Tim's assistant, Marta, with an invoice for $162.50, a charge for an hour and a half of Tim's time and an hour of his draftsman's time. Despite the fact that I considered the charge too high, I paid the same day I received the invoice. Then a couple of days later I received another email from Marta. She had spoken to Tim about my concerns, and based on their discussion, sent me a revised bill for 75.00. As I had already paid the first charge, I indicated to her that if Tim wants to refund the difference between the first and second bills, I would be very pleased. Bottom line on all this is that I found Tim himself somewhat difficult to work with. His original survey was certainly done well, but his follow-up, based on this transaction, needs some work, particularly his organizational and customer service skills. If you do decide to use Johnson Surveying, just make sure you are clear from the outset on what you expect to receive, and determine charges up front. Also, I would recommend that if you run into any snags, discuss them with his assistant, Marta. When she stepped in to manage the communication, and the negotiation for the bill, she was very personable, reasonable, and responsive. I suspect that if Marta had been involved from the outset, my ratings would be significantly higher.

Tim and his staff were very responsive, professional, timely and reasonably priced.

The service was good. They didn't get all the service done on the first visit, but they came right back and finished. They didn't tell us all that was in our quote, so we ended up paying more than what was originally quoted. He was very responsive. They did the service while we were at work. I would tell a friend or family member that this is not a big company, but he is licensed. I liked that he isn't a big company, so he can keep his cost lower.

I contacted Tim via Angie?s list message system. He called me and gave me a quote for services. I was waiting for another company to provide a quote. During this time Tim followed up to see if I was still interested. After speaking with the other company I was considering, I inquired as to whether his costs included the same services that were being offered by the other company. Tim responded back promptly and his services were the same as the other company. Note the other company, while knowledgeable and professional, was almost double in cost. Tim stated he would be out at the end of the week or early the next week. His team came out later in the week to complete the job. It was seamless and no inconvenience to me. I would strongly recommend Tim. It was easy, non-disruptive, fast and not expensive.

Contacted Tim and received an estimate of about $400 for the work. A member of Tim's staff came out within two weeks to get the survey done. Our yard was marked and the cost given to us from Tim's staff was $450. My wife mentioned that we believed the estimate to be about $400. Within 24 hours, I received an email from Tim with a new invoice for $400. Tim's a class act. This company is phenomenal. I highly recommend them.

I got them through Angie's List. It went well. He responded immediately and the price was better than the one that I received from ACR Engineers and Land Surveyors who wanted almost double the price which was $725. When Mr. Johnson went out of town, he still sent 2 of his people to take care of it.

Tim was great, very professional. Answered all my phone calls, and was prompt with putting together our Elevation Certificate.

Johnson Survey was very quick to respond to my initial inquiry and stated they provided the services I needed. Tim contacted me immediately with the fairest price quote amongst several providers. We set up the date/time and he was there 1/2 hour ahead of schedule which I really appreciated. Tim thoroughly discussed with me what he would be doing and immediately went to work. After several hours of working in the extreme cold with snow on the ground I had all the boundaries for my new property that I was looking for. I would absolutely use Johnson Survey in the future.

Mr. Johnson was pleasant when I called for the quote I explained that I wanted to put a fence around the yard. I told Mr. Johnson that my neighbor was not happy about the fence and had her property surveyed. I did not understand why part of my side steps could have been put in on her property. I was given a quote and I called other surveyors. I received a cheaper quote and called Mr. Johnson to tell him. He immediately matched the other offer and said he already pulled my deed. I hired him not knowing that he surveyed my neighbors property. I feel that since my neighbor and I did not agree on the property line he had a conflict of interest and should have told me so. He also charged full price, but only did one side of the property. Now I do not know if the job was done in my interest or his other customers interest.

I was in need a current survey to get a permit for my property. They established the property lines so I know exactly where my property begins and ends versus my neighbors. They did a nice job.

They were able to come out right away and were very quick to respond to my calls. Tim, the owner, came out to do the work and he did the work within a month. Everything came in on time and as promised. However, they did the site plans backward and the price a little expensive.

Tim was great to work with. They were friendly and came out to our home on time for the appointment. They did not overcharge me which was nice. There were two men and it took about an hour to complete the work. Scheduling was very easy and I have recommend them to others.

They got back to me quickly about getting land survey for fiancé dad’s house; we just did not end up using them.

So far it has been great. He probably did not realize the size of my property since the measurements were not tremendously accurate. He could not put in stakes since there was a lot of trees in the way. I felt their prices were fair.

They were courteous and they found land we did not even know we had! They were on time for the appointment and anwered all my questions well. I had no problems with them at all.

They showed up on time for the appointment. They did the work well and I didn't even realize they were here. They mailed me the measurements. Everything went fantastic. Scheduling was easy and I did have any issues.

The surveyors arrived precisely on time, spent a couple hours, flagged the property line, and then walked the boundary with me. Overall, service was scheduled quickly, performed professionally, and I got a written report in the mail within a few days. Excellent and painless.

These guys were great. Phone calls were returned promptly, scheduling done very quickly. The men showed up on time, worked until the job was done, and were no-fuss professionals. Great experience. Would definitely use again.

Everything was good at the beginning I got a quote and even a discount for being an Angie's List member. The appointment was scheduled and on the day of the appointment a young man showed up(his name was Austin) apparently he is Tim's son. Him and another young gentleman performed the survey. (When I say young I mean really young he barely looks old enough to be out of high school) I was told by Austin before he left the property that it appears that two of the neighbors behind us fences are two feet on our property but that he couldnt be certain until he gave all the information to his father. I waited a week and heard nothing back so I called I spoke to Tim he said he had been very busy and he would get back to me in a day or so I mentioned my concern about the neighboring fences he said he would review and get back to me. I was under the impression that they were supposed to start the survey reading from the middle of the street and these gentlemen never left my front lawn. I finally received the maps from TIm and an email stating that the fences were not in fact on my property but when I reviewed the maps it was to small to see the difference between my property line and the fence line I called Tim to follow I asked if he had gone back out to double check the measurements given to him by Austin he stated that he was trying to run a business and hung up on me. I then sent him an email and explained that I would hold off on writing my reviews until I heard back from him with a resolution and that it was very unprofessional of him to just hang up mid conversation on a client. Tim eventually sent me out the larger maps BUT they look exactly like the the 8X10 maps so we are still uncertain if these fences are on our property or not. At this point myself and my husband no longer wish to deak with Tim he is unprofessional and I feel like he took me for $450.00 we are going to have to hire another land surveyor to get the correct property lines. A refund would be nice but I highly doubt he will be willing to refund our money so why waste my time even calling back.

I wasn't involved with that. My husband was but I think he was happy. He had no complaints. The quality of the work was good.
