American Drain Cleaning & Plumbing

I called this company on New Year's Day evening, based on Angie's List reviews. I couldn't be happier with the timeliness of their response and the quality of work that was performed. I found my main water valve was leaking on 1/1/13 and called American Drain Cleaning and Plumbing. Dan came out on time, at 1:00pm on 1/2/13. He fixed the leaking water valve, and then fixed a leaking toilet valve and replaced the workings of the toilet. Dan explained that I should have my main valve replaced, as it's very old, and he supplied an estimate for that work, which I am currently in the process of scheduling. Dan is very professional and willing to answer questions. I would highly recommend this company!

Three hours after Dan's arrival my dishwasher is full of last night's dinner party dishes and I am smiling.

Dan came out on time and promptly got to work. He investigated some water damage we had and was very thorough and professional in doing so. He figured out where the water most likely came from quickly and checked out every possible other option to make sure he was correct. He also spent time to make several recommendations on how to prevent further plumbing issues even though this turned out to be a minor job. Very professional and friendly in addition to being prompt. Also did a great job cleaning up from where he had to cut the drywall. He also did everything he could to identify the issue without cutting the drywall but in this case we all felt it was necessary.

Came out 9/20 and "fixed" our bathtub that wouldn't drain. That night we had the same problem so we called him back since it wasn't fixed. He was responsive and came back out. It was better but not great... and a month later now we're having the same problem. I'm trying someone else this time around.

Dan Provided Top Notch Drain Cleaning Same day service for honest / fair price.

I had a great experience. They were a pleasure to work with, very kind, and very flexible working with my old house and the surprises that came up along the way. It was not an easy job, but they were very pleasant, successfully cleared my backed up sewage system and charged me a very reasonable price. I would be happy to use them in the future and would definitely recommend them to a friend.

This was the first time in my life that I had to call a plumber. Angie's List gave American Drain Cleaning & Plumbing a very high score. I feel differently. I found out after the job was done that access to the drain should have been done via the laundry room, NOT the powder room. Dan failed to look right next door for access. This would have avoided the whole pedestal sink incident. I would assume that an experienced plumber would do this before disassembling a powder room sink. Also, I feel that I was taken advantage of because I am an inexperienced woman. I found that $350 for a drain cleaning is an extremely high quote. I should have done my homework but I would never use American Drain Cleaning & Plumbing again.

Within 2 hours of my call they were at my house, promptly cleared the drain. I was charged only for the service call with no additional charges. This was my second experience with this company and I was so favorably impressed with their response the first time, I called them again. If needed, I will call in the future. Friendly, professional, considerate.

Dan's service and personal experience was excellent. Not only did he give me a fair quote up front to run a snake through my drain pipes as that is what the original thought was, but when he opened the pipe, he found that the "T"pipe was blocked up. So, he called me to the kitchen and showed me the pipe and said it was not going to cost what we cost was the higher amount, but the price was actually 1/2. Dan could have fixed the problem, and not told me how he fixed it and charged a higher price, but He is really an honest man and said he couldn't charge me for work he didn't do. What a difference then what most of the world would do........ The job was fixed in 45 minutes from when Dan came. I would recommend Dan to all. You can't go wrong with this guy.

The serviceman arrived early, calling to see if it was ok. Did not charge extra when he made changes. He was helpful & even answered the phone or a holiday!

They arrived quickly as this was a messy emergency and checked the situation at hand--a basement full of sewage and water two inches deep. Snaked outside lateral into the house and water drained.

Mr. Rolli is a stand-up guy. I would recommend him to a friend.

Our call was answered by a person. He called us back with an estimated time. Because we had been without water for hours, we'd scheduled the work with another company. We would call American again in the future, however.

Our toilets were emptying out to the the outdoor trap in our backyard on a Saturday evening (memorial day weekend) around 6PM, I called and he told me he could be there in around 3 hours and showed up in 2. He took care of the problem within the hour by snaking out the pipe between the trap and the sewer line. Did a great job and we were so appreciative of his quick response!

We had an emergency issue, where one of our bathroom toilets erupted into a geyser, and our house was quickly flooded. We used Angies List to find this company, and he answered the phone immediately. He said he was turning the car around, and they were on their way. We are very thankful they answered the phone so fast and were able to arrive at our house within minutes. The issue was fixed as well as helpful suggestions on what our next steps should be. Highly recommend this company.

Dan is highly recommended. He arrived on time and fixed our problem immediately. We will call him again for other plumbing needs.

This is a simple review to write: They did what I asked them to do completely and correctly, finished promptly, and gave us a nice Angie's List discount. They were a few minutes late due to traffic but called to let us know they were held up. This is the second time we have used this company and we would not hesitate to call on them again should any other plumbing problems arise.

Needed to remove the old shower valve mixer and install a new mixer handle on a bare wall, i.e no sheet rock in place yet.Price quoted was 650$, which was a shocker, but after i said i cannot use their service, they offered to reduce it by 200$. Work was done professionally and on time. I went with them, as they responded pretty quickly to the call, and were able to accommodate me on short notice. But price I paid was high, i felt. Later I realised , they should capped the valves with some kind of cap, as i still needed to tile the shower wall. They did not suggest it, nor did i realize it.

It went very well and my mother was very pleased with his work and professionalism. That is saying something because mom can be a little difficult to deal with sometimes! I would definitely recommended his services.

My refrigerator was installed in jaunuary and the icemaker and water stopped operating, the men who delivered it neglected to tell me, or did not know that the connections to the water line were mismatched, and the line froze, , It was under warranty but it was not covered, so i called around to get estimates, and onAngies list I was impressed by the positive comments with ADC&P, they came out on a day convenient to me and did the job proficiently and in a timely manner. Very friendly and courteuos . I appereciated their professionalism.

The install was professionally done and I was pleased with the work. Two contractors responded to perform the work. Both contractors were professional and punctual. When the contractors went to flip the switch to test the newly installed garbage disposal, it was discovered there was an electrical issue unrelated to the installation. The contractors made every attempt to figure out the electrical issue above and beyond what they were there to do, which I appreciated. It was later determined by an electrician that the issue was a loose wire in the outlet. The garbage disposal is working fine and I am happy with the job. If I had anything negative to say it would be that the prices for the work done seemed pretty high (although I was assured they were comparable).

Everything went smoothly. They came quickly after the phone call and did everything professionally.

Badly! They offered to match a quote when I spoke to them on the phone and when they got here and said it would cost $700 (double what 2 other plumbers quoted), he just wrote up the bill for me to pay them the $79 to give me a quote that took no more than 3 minutes. I'm disgusted. He said, this is what they charge and left it at that. He didn't look at the quotes I had even though I said I had them. Didn't offer to go down, NOTHING. I will never call these people again!

Soon after closing escrow and getting the keys to an older home we were spending time cleaning up the property. I needed to use the garden hose to rinse some tools but when I opened the valve in the basement that leads to the hose bib, the valve had a fast steady drip - so much that I couldn't use the hose. I called American Drain Cleaning & Plumbing and explained my issue. They described their services and we agreed on an appointment time. Dan and Garth were great - On time, clean, personable, professional, and pretty funny. When we first went to the basement and I showed them the valve, they suggested it could just be loose packing in the valve. If so, a few turns of the wrench would fix it. Although that didn't work, I certainly appreciate them suggesting the easiest (fastest, least-expensive) fix first. With the faulty valve now confirmed, they went to work buy shutting of the main water supply, draining the system, and cutting the pipe to replace the valve. They put in a convenient ball valve which is much easier to use than the traditional valve that takes 10-15 turns to fully open or close. It didn't take them very long to finish. When everything was in place the main line was opened and the system was recharged. Another great point - they checked their work when they were done. With the water back on, they opened the new valve and it had a slow steady drip. This time it really was a loose packing nut and with a few turns of the wrench, everything was back to normal. American Drain Cleaning & Plumbing will be the first ones I call for any plumbing needs.

Dan and Garland were very professional from the initial phone call all the way to after the job was complete. They even called when they were on their way so I had a heads up - who does that (very nice)? They came and assessed the problem and decided it would be in my best interest to just get a new water heater since my current one was already 8 years old and the cost of what needed to be fixed would be close to the cost of a new water heater. They were polite, gave great explanations of everything they were doing and even fixed another small leak we had for free. They also took away the old water heater for free. I would highly recommend Dan and Garland - very friendly and professional.
