Valentina Custom Design is a shop with a very excellent but small selection of interior design fabrics.  The owner and her daughter took a look at what I was trying to match in the family room and made a few suggestions.  They weren't what I was looking for and I continued to browse the shop because I have a couple other rooms to decorate.  The owner piled up the fabric samples I had brought, shoved them in my hand and told me I had to leave before I was even halfway through looking at the other fabrics.  I was very taken aback and kind of froze in surprise.  To hurry me along she said she had a customer coming in 5 minutes (I was the only one in the store) and I had to leave, because it was appointment only, you know.  I walked out feeling horrible and stood in the street for a while to try and figure out what happened.  I had found them via the Fabric Row Philadelphia website and it didn't say anything about appointments.  I looked at the front door and it didn't say anything about appointments.  I strongly felt that she must have made it up to get me out of her store because I turned down her suggestions.  Two doors down I found another storefront belonging to Valentina full of fabric that they didn't even tell me about.  I was too upset to go back and request access.

I went to the next Fabric Row store and since I spent such a long time there (and spent a lot of money) I eventually told the story to the proprietors.  They said they get that story about once a week and that sometimes people come into their shop in tears.  The daughter is nice but the owner is awful.  She is never getting any of my money.
