Universal Roofing was great to work with from the get-go. Scheduling my initial consultation was quick, and Jim was great to speak with, ask questions, and share information. We were both very honest with each other about the job, and his estimate was the best I received by far. With that and reading other reviews on Angie's List, it was a done deal. And they accepted the $300 Angie's List coupon on top of the estimate! It took a few weeks to get the job scheduled, but the majority of that time was due to delays with my borough and the permit application. Once I had the permit, the job was scheduled. We had to reschedule only once due to bad weather, but even then, Jason at Universal Roofing called me to let me know, and we scheduled for the very next day. The day of the job, the workers were very polite and professional, and they finished ahead of schedule. I am very happy with the finished product! And the warranty offered to me was top-notch! I would hire these guys again in a heartbeat! Thanks again to everyone there!

It was a great experience from start to finish. The process was explained to me in great detail and I received prompt answers to all of my questions, even after the job was complete. The roofers were on-time, very professional, knowledgeable and finished quickly. The leak in my roof is gone and there are no signs of it returning. The price quoted was comparable to other estimates and no one tried to sell me products I did not need. I was also provided a great warranty. I would recommend this company to anyone!

So far I have not had any leaking. It has not been that long since I have had the roof put on-- so far, so good, but I thought the price was a little expensive. I had two other people come out and they wanted, I think, maybe $2,800 and $2,500. They came out on time and were prompt. If I had any questions they answered them without any problems. They were just more professional than the previous roofing company I used.

Jim from Universal roofing was great. Very professional and friendly at the same time.. Extremely nice guy.. They cleaned up EVERYTHING including my leaves when the job was completed?. My Xmas decorations weren't damaged and they even put them all back when the job was done... Would highly recommend.

Joe from Universal came out and was VERY professional. So was the operator I spoke to to schedule the appointment. They were courteous and took my project seriously. I did not feel at all I was getting the run around or getting bad information. Bottom line of why we went with someone else was because they just could not offer the same length of warranty and their price was about $700 more. But all in all I would definitely consider hiring Universal in the future for other work if the need arises.

We couldn't have had a better experience. Joe and his assistant were very professional when coming out to offer an estimate. Unlike a separate contractor who immediately tried to push replacing the entire roof (with a 20K estimate), they asked about the age of the roof (less than 10 years) and our expectations. Joe explained that they would be able to patch/replace shingles and would do their best to make everything match, but the new shingles might stand out due to differences in wear. We said our priority was ensuring the quality of the roof and that a slight mismatch wouldn't be a problem. My wife and I were blown away. They showed up on time on the day we scheduled and finished the job/clean-up within hours. The patch/replace made it look like the damage never happened. Very happy

These people are WONDERFUL! They are fast, professional, and courteous. They went above and beyond to help me with a time sensitive issue and I can't thank them enough. If you need a new roof or roof repairs, this is who you need to call. Did I mention they even cleaned off my patio?

Last December I hired Universal Roofing to put a new roof on my rowhome in Fishtown. My steeply pitched roof had a nearly 30 year old layer of shingles with some missing in spots. Since I only had one layer of shingles and the underlying wood was still sound they were able to apply a new layer of shingles without removing all the old material. They also capped my chimney and brick party walls with heavy duty rubber to prevent water infiltration into my old brickwork. I was nervous that being December they would not be able to do the work with the cold weather, but that was not a problem for them. In fact they had a very full schedule but were able to fit me in. The work took a day and a half. The three guys were very polite and communicative with what work they were going to perform. I would not have any reservations recommending Universal Roofing. Great work

They did good work. They did what they said they were going to do. The only thing that bothered me was that there were only two workers instead of the three and they only worked a half a day instead of a full day. Maybe they were just really productive, I was just expecting it to be a bigger job. They cleaned up well and did what they said they were going to do and were very courteous.

It went very well. We had a couple of missed appointments to have the work done due to weather, but was performed once it was safe to be on the roof. We weren't home at the time the work was done, but they were very responsive to questions and provided pictures of the work while being completed. They also did an excellent job of blending the new shingles with the old ones, so you can't detect that any work was done unless you are on the roof. Hopefully this will fix our leaking issues, but overall we're very satisfied with Universal Roofing.

There were a few glitches, but they handled everything very professionally. They got all issues resolved, and were very courteous. They were very eager to make sure that we were happy with everything that was done. We ended up having no problems at all. I would highly recommend them.

I had used Universal Roofing for my elderly mother's house in Port Richmond. She had the main roof replaced due to multiple leaks. Universal did a Class "A" job. Later on her shed roof began to leak, again I called Universal. Joe came out inspected the roof said it was in terrible shape and replaced it. By the next heavy rainstrom we had a different leak. The crew came back and found the that the leak was coming through the siding above the shed roof. Thankfully, Universal was able to fix it. I actually wrote a poem since I highly recommend this company for their quality workmanship as well as their excellent customer service. If there's a leak in your roof Don't make a goof Call Universal My Mom's house is proof

The work went very well. The workers were very polite and personable. They went to the backyard with all their equipment. The did not create a lot of noise. The roof was completed in approximately 2 to 2 1/2 hours. No mess was left behind. They were very very professional. I plan to use them for another job I have to get done.
