Description of Work: Replaced 2nd floor roof, repaired and sealed pole gutters and flashed the edges. Joe is the Best! He climbed around the roof like spiderman, inspecting everything. He thoroughly explained the issues and possible resolution. I am extremely happy with the work and especially the service. I would definitely use them again.

Description of Work: I sent them a email to ask some questions and request service. I received a call the next day asked what type of work that needed and was informed that I should still be under warranty with the previous company that completed roof. I checked, and I was. That was great honest customer service.

Description of Work: I knew I needed some fascia replaced and some work done on the soffits. I had questions about the roof, vents, pipe vents, flashing and caulking. My first contact was with Helen, for questions on inspection and estimating, and for scheduling. That was a pleasant and informative experience. We set a time for Joe to come out, and agreed that I would be available earlier in case he was ready sooner. Helen called me back to confirm the appointment. On the appointment day, Joe called (he'd had two cancellations) and we agreed to an earlier time. Joe and David arrived promptly. Joe did a thorough inspection, answered all my questions with lots of detail, made recommendations for fascia and soffit repairs and for caulking, verified that my roof and gutters were still good (although he mentioned specific areas he would have done differently, like the valleys and flashing), and confirmed that the ventilation with the gable fan/soffit mesh/roof vents was adequate though he said current code requires ridge vents. He concluded that the necessary work could be done by someone else -- a roofer was not required -- at a much lower cost than Universal's minimum (two workers for half a day), and declined the job. I was so pleased with the thoroughness of Joe's inspection, comments and advice that I called Helen to offer to pay for the consultation; she insisted there was no charge. I'll definitely call Universal again when I'm ready for a new roof.

Description of Work: Joe came out and checked out our roof which had been leaking. He gave us a great estimate and scheduled service for the very next day so we would not have any additional damage. He was punctual and very friendly. I will certainly use them again and recommend them to a neighbor.
