Although my first choice for this room was for tile, I was afraid that that the cement slab it was to be applied on was too uneven and would not be feasible . Jeff came to evaluate the situation and explained how he could accomplish the job and provided me with a written estimate. I was still skeptical but decided to take a chance. Jeff took great pains to place sufficient leveling compound on the floor before he felt confident to lay the tile. He then took the time to lay out sample patterns ( herringbone, running bond) for my wife and I to choose from before going with the actual installation. I also had chosen to use a radiant floor mat to heat the room and Jeff installed this before laying the tile . The job came out great and and we were pleasantly surprised with the results. The job took a day longer to complete because of the extra time involved in leveling the floor but Jeff did not ask for any extra money for his time . I did reimburse him for the extra bags of leveling compound that were necessary to complete the job over and above what was listed on the estimate but it not very costly and only fair to him. I would highly recommend his service .

Jeff's tile work is superior - I have tried on several occasions to find a tile that is out of line - I cannot - All grout lines are even and straight. I would hire Jeff again in a heart beat, in fact he will be going another room remodeling project for me in the fall of 2013. I hate to put this in writing because he will become so busy that I will not be able to get him to do my future projects. Update for additional carpentry work: Not to be mean - but to just be honest - the carpentry work he did for my project included, reconfiguring bedrooms and adding closets, doors, new wall board, etc. All I can say is that his carpentry work is not of the same quality as his tile work: one of my walls is not even, the closet doors rub and when asked to fix - he literally used a chisel to "sand down" the down so that it did not rub against the other closet door -( these were custom made solid wood doors that were painted at the factory. He measured the doors and placed the order with me); the moldings are all chipped and in less than 1 year I already have several nail pops. no offense to jeff - but he needs to stick to tile. In addition, his customer service (coming back to fix items that were not right when project was completed) is poor - he always has an excuse and whines about coming back.
