Description of Work: I had to expand an opening for a new refrigerator. It was not an easy project.

+ -1 moreI wasn't present at the time of the work but he described the problem, suggested remedies and helped me decide what to do. He never changed his quote but had to do significantly more work than anticipated. That's not normally the way it should work but he enjoyed the challenge this time.
Description of Work: Took out an old door and jamb and replaced it with a new door, sill and hardware. It required custom cutting a solid core door to fit an odd size and then getting creative after demolition and finding unexpected problems with the framing.

+ 2 moreChris was a great contractor to work with. He was friendly and professional. All communication was documented in print, especially when plans or costs were involved. The work was excellent. Many people have commented on the quality of the mantle. Per report, he worked well with the company who does fireplace installation. I felt very comfortable having Chris work in our house. He cleaned up before he left every day. He was respectful and even jumped in to the rescue when Our new puppy ran out of the house.
Description of Work: We had work done in our living room (shelving, mantle, and fireplace installation). Chris did all the woodwork, painting, staining, and building out of the wall to accommodate the space.

Description of Work: Does not work on doors. Listed on Agie's List as carpenter. He claimed to only do basic indoor remodeling such as bathrooms.

+ -1 moreMy front door is big, with beautiful wood detail, but over the years it has expanded and often had to be pushed extra hard to close (especially with humid weather). While I wanted to fix the problem, I really didn't want to bother the door for fear that it might be mishandled. I told Chris about the problem, and he came up with an alternate idea--sand down the frame at the side of the door and the marble beneath the door. The plan worked perfectly. My door now opens and closes nicely and is in perfect condition!
Description of Work: Sanded down the areas around the door so it could close correctly.

+ 0 moreI have hired Chris for 3 separate carpentry projects in my house. He is always a pleasure to do business with because he is professional, responsible, and a nice person. Chris likes to help homeowners solve problems by being creative with structural ideas.
Description of Work: Chris replaced an outside door with great skill, resulting in a tight and insulated exterior door. Then he worked with me to design a custom "storm door" for this tricky doorway which is on the 2nd floor, opening to a narrow balcony. He recommended French doors, which he went on to customize for size and function, including screens and glass inserts. He installed everything for a good looking, sturdy and functional custom door. His website shows some of his interior work.
