The service went well. They were fine in general. They were capable and cooperative.

They came out right away for the estimate and seemed really knowledgeable with what they were talking about. We went with another company which had a cheaper quote. They were more affordable.

The quotation process was great. John Summers came to property and we discussed the job and what I wanted. What I like is John is not "sales" and understands the technology from a technical and hands on perspective. He knows his products and knows what will work and what will not. The existing A/C compressor and coil was fairly new and my own research (and technical background) prior to getting quotes for this job revealed it would work and did not need replacing. Some of the other quotes from the doom and gloom "sales types" said it needed to replaced. Not Summers and this gave them high marks for integrity which is one of keys for me in selecting subcontractors. The installation process went as agreed. The crew was not subcontractors but long term employees who knew their work well and performed excellent workmanship. There was a one minor problem with a condensate pump which within the same day I called, his crew came and corrected. Highly recommended.

I have used Summers Heating and Air Conditioning for several years and know others who use them also. They are responsive, get the job done and are professional. Over the last several years they have serviced my heating and cooling systems, replaced all the hot and cold water piping in the basement, installed tankless water heater, corrected work that an inexperienced previous plumber did wrong, ran cable wire for TV and most recently replaced a rooftop heating/cooling unit. This last job took several days and included coordinating with delivery of unit, a roofer recommended by Summers as well as a crane to remove old and lift new unit into place, and the Summers team for the installation. The total job was costly and their coupon from the Yellowbook helped. I would use them again and recommend them.

Everything about the company from original inspection and estimate to ultimate installation was VERY professional. The installation crew was totally professional, punctual, neat, and very friendly. The only "glitch" in the installation was immediately corrected. I would whole heartily recomment them

I chose them at random when we moved into a condo apartment. I wanted a company that would provide twice yearly maintenance so that my heating and air conditioning units were always in good working order. I was also looking for a company that offered emergency service if I lost service. I have recommended them to others.

I had them over to service the boiler, and radiators. They got one radiator working, but it stopped working a few days later, as did a few of the other radiators that were working earlier. They didn't seem to know the problem. Money down the drain.

I had a maintenance contract with Summers since I bought my house (and its 20 year old HVAC system) three years ago. I decided to replace it with a more efficient system and got quotes from Summers and another company. Summers' estimate was lower, and my past experience with them was good. About a week after scheduling my appointment, they called to push it back a week. This was not ideal, but at least they gave me sufficient notice. The three-man crew showed up on time and was efficient and courteous. They had no problem with my narrow, steep basement stairs and were able to deal with a few "old house" problems they encountered. They could have cleaned up more; they did a decent job with the first floor and the utility room, but there was a dirt left in other areas of the basement and the stairs. They also rushed through demonstrating the system at the end of the day.

I was very pleased with the system and what they did. There was one problem, I noticed later on that the filter was not installed. They were very respectful to me and my house. I would recommend them. They had a good price and good service.

I would have to say that I am moderately happy with my experience with them and with the unit that they installed. During the initial installation, everything went great. They were very professional and nice to deal with however it did end up taking about four months to have my unit installed and running properly. The problem was also with the manufacturer, Sanyo, as they weren't sending them the right parts to get the unit up and running. I don't think that it was all their fault, but I bet they had to come back about a dozen times before everything was all said and done. I am also not really too sure if I am all that crazy about the unit.

I chose Summers Heating and Air Conditioning because of their reviews on Angies List. I have a tenant living in the place that he installed the heating and air conditioning units and he conducted himself very professionally. I liked the way he approached the job from the beginning including the bidding process. He completed everything in a very timely manner and did a good job. I gave him a B for price because I feel he could have been a little more aggressive in his bidding but I was more concerned with obtaining the right man for the job.

They were phenomenal! I would use them any time. They were very prompt and professional. They price was good too.

One of the worst experiences of my life. They work was horrible. I had incredible amounts of damage to my house from water coming in while they were doing the work. My roof is still leaking a year later. They did not even put freon or a filter in the system when they installed it.

Later ((2/6/2007) we had been hearing a noise in our wall and thought it might be the boiler or radiators. I called on Monday morning for an appointment and they told me someone could come by on Tuesday morning between 9 and 12. Anthony called at 9:30 to let me know he would be there around 10 am and that's when he showed up. Of course the mysterious sound did not occur once while he was there but he checked the radiators and boiler for us and offered helpful suggestions as to next steps we could take ($63.5).

I am very satisfied with this company. I was able to get an appointment within a few days. The technician was very thorough. He filled out a checklist showing all the things he had checked on my heater. I asked what kind of shape it was in. He told me everything was fine now, but also told me what to watch for in a 20 year old heater. He gave me information about the company's preferred customer maintenance plan.

They did a really good job. Arrived on time, efficiently checked both systems, bled the radiators and answered all my questions. They also offer a maintenance plan for purchase, which was worth it until they doubled their prices this year.

John was great. He came out and worked with me to find the best solution for my home. My chimney liner was in serious disrepair (the previous owner of the house never had it swept. Call Chimney Cricket once a year people! I needed a new boiler (the previous tenant used electric portables throughout the house since the landlord wouldn't fix the oil-fired boiler), and didn't want the hassle of heating oil. Turns out PECO gives you a rebate for switching to gas, and a much bigger rebate if you do it in the spring (keep that in mind if you want to get this type of work done after winter). So anyways, I didn't want to buy a boiler and then realign the chimney and spend nearly the same amount (okay, the high efficiency unit was a bit more, but you get that back by lower gas bills and the federal tax credit. At least that's what I keep telling myself). So I got rid of the chimney entirely by going with a direct vent. The installers were great, and in 2 days it was done.

Their attitude regarding charges to me that was due to their carelessness. I should not have had to involve a 3rd party to rectify the problem, but thank God your company (Angie's List) was accessible.

On both visits, the technicians called prior to the scheduled appointment time to let me know they were on their way. The work performed was of good quality and fairly priced. Very professional and pleasant. One glitch - there was a disagreement between John (the owner) and the worker who was sent to install the booster fan. The worker suggested a different solution to the problem when he showed up, so the appointment had to be postponed. The company later called back to apologize and told me that the worker should have installed the fan as instructed and should not have second guessed his boss. He came back the following week and completed the job.

Company rescheduled on short notice. I agreed with it, then noticed that I had made an error. They promised to call back to reschedule but never did.

Overall a very good experience. The woman who answered the phone was friendly and helpful. She scheduled an appointment for the very next day. The repairman came on time and was professional and polite. They then sent a thank you for our business along with a 10% off coupon for our next service.

WAS TOLD MY SERVICE PERSON WOULD BE HERE BETWEEN 9 AND 11. TURNS OUT HE WAS RUNNING OVER AN HOUR LATE AND THEY DIDN'T EVEN BOTHER TO NOTIFY ME. MADE NO ATTEMPT TO RESCHEDULE AT A TIME/DAY THAT WAS CONVENIENT TO ME. VERY UNPROFESSIONAL.

I WAS VERY PLEASED WITH THE SERVICE. THE COMPANY COULD NOT MAKE THE INITIAL APPOINTMENT, BUT CALLED THE DAY BEFORE AND RESCHEDULED. THE SERVICEMAN CAME DURING THE TIME INDICATED. I WAS PARTICULARLY IMPRESSED THAT HE INTRODUCED HIMSELF BY NAME AND SHOOK MY HAND -- NOT SOMETHING I'VE SEEN TOO OFTEN IN SERVICEMEN. HE WAS EFFICIENT IN DOING THE WORK AND SEEMED TO KNOW WHAT HE WAS DOING. THE PRICE WAS $260 FOR SERVICING THE A/C AND HEATER ANNUALLY. THIS WAS THE LABOR PROTECTION PROGRAM WHERE YOU DO NOT HAVE TO PAY LABOR COSTS ON REPAIRS PLUS HAVE 24 HOUR SERVICE AVAILABLE. (THIS FEATURE COSTS $100 MORE THAN THE BASIC). THE PROGRAMMABLE THERMOSTATS WAS $124. (THIS WAS REDUCED FROM THE NORMAL PRICE OF $274 SINCE I HAD SIGNED UP FOR THE 1 YEAR CONTRACT). THE PRICES WERE POSSIBLY A BIT MORE THAN OTHERS I HAD HEARD ABOUT, BUT I FELT THAT THE QUALITY WAS WORTH IT.

COMPANY WAS UNABLE TO MAKE SCHEDULED APPOINTMENT. I WAS IMPRESSED, HOWEVER WITH THEIR PROFESSIONALISM. THEY CALLED TO BOTH CONFIRM AND RESCHEDULE THE APPOINTMENT.
