Stevie came out to the house to bid for a stucco job. He was great! Knowledgeable and eager for the work. I think he would have done an excellent job had I gone with him.

I hired Mr. Glover months ago for my current basement renovation, but wanting some storage space available for Thanksgiving preparations, and being led to believe that that work would last a few days at most, I asked him to do the 3rd. fl. storage room work. He started the work on the day before Thanksgiving, and as of Dec. 10, the room was in a state of ugliness. The flooring no longer looked like clean plywood, nor did the carpet remnants still look clean. Mr. Glover didn't bother to use drop cloths on anything in the room, so clumps of insulation were scattered on the carpet remnants, and hardened joint compound was on the flooring, shelving, carpet remnants, and boxes. Since he installed drywall thicker than what I had given permission for him to buy (with my money), the door to the room wouldn't close at first. Since he didn't know what to do about that after cutting off wood from the top and bottom of the door, he did exactly what he was told not to do under any circumstance- make a hole in the drywall. Knowing I hadn't checked the work but expecting me to take him at his word, he lied about having just a little left to finish on the project and insisted that I pay him the rest of what I agreed to pay him for the project. I think he should consider himself a thief. The quality of what little drywalling he did in my basement, his inability to adequately oversee those he hires for projects, with his poor storage room work, led me to remove him from my basement renovation. He has refused to return phone calls from me and my husband (on holiday leave from active duty service at Ft. Knox). Mr. Glover should be ashamed of having stressed out a woman with an infant and 3 other kids with his cavalier attitude that it'll all be fine in the end while what's happening in the interim suggests nothing of the sort. Pictures will follow to show that the 3 large shelving units Mr. Glover removed were not reinstalled, the hole made in the drywall, the difference between the original flooring condition and the "post-Glover" condition, and the unfinished drywall taping.
Description of Work: Mr. Glover and crew installed insulation between the rafters of my 3rd. fl. storage room, covered the rafters with sheetrock, and installed sheetrock tape over nearly all of the drywall seams before applying joint compound onto the tape.

Most of the stone work that I examined looks fine. However, some of the work around the windows should have been completed at least by Spring of 2009 because I had paid Mr. Glover in January of 2009 to install windows and he damaged the cement around them during the installation. He left the damage explaining that he would be fixing it. On very short-term projects when he expects to be fully paid quickly, the experience seems to be uneventful. However, the window installations were part of a larger project that began in 2008 which I don't imagine he will finish based on his most recent (12/13/10) interaction with me. That is reported separately.
Description of Work: Mr. Glover pointed the stone portion of a house I own.
