I could not have been more pleased with the results! Steve worked largely on his own and provided periodic updates as he completed different stages of the restoration without prompting from me. He completed on-time and any additional materials or effort needed was explained and my approval obtained before doing it. The property manager I have used for years was incredibly impressed by the final result of Steve's work as well. And that I took as high praise indeed.

Let me start by saying that I can be classified as a "difficult" customer. It took forever for us to get approval from the insurance company which delayed the scheduling of the work. Then when we finally got the check, there was a tight schedule Steve had to work with. To top things off, after agreeing to a timeline, stuff happens and I had to change the schedule again...a nightmare for any contractor. I got three bids for the work and Steve's was the highest. Why did I pick him? He described what he was going to do and it was clear that he was very meticulous with his work. This is our home and while we had a budget we did not want cheap craftmanship or a contractor that hired third party guys. I wanted to know who was going to be coming in and out of our home so decided to pay the premium for the personal service of a company who was family owned and operated. Steve delivered quality work as promised and was patient with the many changes in requirements. There were other issues found while he took down the damaged drywall and contacted me to explain and worked with my budget. I was very pleased and would recommend his services to anyone who asked...unfortunately this guy is super busy. Good for him!

He's from Angie's List.? His name is Steve Gengaro.? His work was very good.? We are very happy with him.? The whole house needed a lot of work and we were going to use him for numerous days so he gave us per hour price but he has since complained that it wasn't really enough.

Steve did an excellent job -- he started the work quickly, kept to a schedule, updated us with photographs (we were out of town) throughout the process, and his handiwork was excellent. He was always accessible and obliging. We are using his services on another project to replace and update our fireplace. The price of the service listed above included the new doors, vanity, etc. which he purchased for us. We were very satisfied with his work and professionalism and would highly recommend him!

All of Steve's work was great. The only thing that he didn't feel confident with was draining my radiator system. He also came in under budget!

I initially provided a poor review of Mr. Genaro because I had left him a message on 4.16.14 and had not received a call back. On 4.23.14 Mr. Genaro called and explained he had indicated on Angie's List that he was not taking any new work until June and since my message indicated I needed the work completed in May, he assumed he didn't need to get back to me. We clarified the miscommunication as I had written his information down apparently before the note was added and did not see it. It turns out he has availability right now and I will be meeting with him next week to get an estimate. My initial interactions with Mr. Genaro have been professional and I look forward to meeting with him to review the work I need to have done.

I am disappointed because, although I had some small repairs, this would have led to repeat business.

It didn't go because I got no response to my inquiry.

We got several bids. Steve's was the best. He helped with design and selection of materials. Showed up on time stayed in touch and returned calls promptly. Installation was done promptly and professionally. Tiling was particularly difficult due to the material we selected. Steve did a great job on this too. We are very pleased with the way everything came out and would highly recommend Steve

On November 22, I left a message for Steve to return my call. He called me on 12/2 and asked if I "still needed him." I said yes and we agreed that come to my home for an estimate on 12/6 at 8:00 a.m. Steve did not come by or call.

Brilliant service, on time, courteous and reasonably priced. We will certainly use his services in the future.

His work was thorough and complete and even after running into several hurdles he was cheerfully able to complete the job well to our satisfaction. He was also happy to provide advice regarding some DIY work I intend to do. Would certainly recommend.

Steve stepped in quickly to help us get some jobs done before our house was reappraised. We had a deadline and Steve made it, even though the jobs ended up being more complicated than first expected. He did a beautiful job with our walls--one cannot see any of the patches--they are smooth and uniform. And he was courteous, friendly, cheerful, helpful, going beyond the call of duty and working late into the night so that the projects could be finished in time for the appraisal. He also threw in some extras--painting parts of the bathroom that we had not discussed but that would not have looked good without it. Clearly Steve takes real pride in his work and it shows!

He did an excellent job was neat and cleaned up on top of doing a very though job.

Steve was very responsive and customer friendly. He showed up when indicated and completed the work in a timely fashion. The quality of the job was exceptional. I would definitely hire him again for other jobs.

My wife and I thought it went great. Steve showed up the first day with a worker to help him rip out and install the new windows. The old windows were original windows that I believe came with the house from the very first owner. There was a big windowed air conditioner unit that two of them had to take out first (This was a royal pain... I felt bad for them). Anyway, once that was done they started to take out the old windows. we have 3 parrots in the house and my wife and I were a little concerned about the dust for them but Steve and his worker were attentive to the parrots and had a curtain/drop sheet from the inside of the dining room to block the dust as they utilized my deck to mainly rip out the old windows. after the first day we had out new windows in the dining room the y looked awesome. we had windows replaced years ago by window wizards in our bedroom and you could tell they were replaced it looked horrible. but these new dining room windows looks like they always belonged. Steve and his worker fully cleaned up the mess and placed the old windows and trash in our back where the trash gets picked up. On day 2 Steve started on the bed room closet. the old closet was a walk in closet the old owner did himself. it was horrible. there was folding doors that were custom made, the doors were actually off as the tracks were falling the light was raggedy and we used an old bead sheet as a door stabled to the ceiling. by the end of the day, he had the ceiling fan replaced, moved the light switch to outside the closet where you can actually get to the switch and he framed the closet so he can lower the closet to install the drywall on the frame. it actually looked much better before he was finished compared to the old closet. On day three he finished up the closet and replaced the one light bulb with fluorescent lights, The closet looks awesome and the replacement ceiling fan with a remote is very cool. Again Steve cleaned everything up each day he was there. He then ordered our Bay windows for the living room and can't wait to see that turn out just as great. We also will be having him renovate our bathroom and then replace the deck flooring and rails. Pricing other contractors was much more expensive then what Steve had charged us. We recommend Steve very highly for any work to be done. there was only 1 minor problem we had with Steve. Not really a problem, but Steve was so busy before he started it took about a week 1/2 to get back to us with an estimate. It was a very good wait considering the great job he has done so far.

He called, confused, the morning of the appt asking if I had an appt that day because he had found a piece of paper with my number and today's date on it and wasn't sure. We had made an appt for that morning. He then told me that he could make it out in the afternoon, which he did (although he was still a bit later than we had agreed on). He didn't bring pen, paper or any tools with him and needed to borrow our ladder and some items to really take a look at the issues. He made up a number on the spot for an estimate. He was very nice, but not overly confidence inducing. We decided to not move forward with his services.

He replaced the plungers and that fixed the upstairs toilet but the downstairs one continued to run. He came back to check the downstairs one and did something in the tank real quick that made some dark fluid come up so he realized it needed another part, I wonder why he didn't check that the first time he was here. After he put the new part in the tank lid was about an inch above where it was suppose to be and you could see the screws. I told him that was unacceptable and he came right back to correct it and it looks fine now. He was really pleasant. I don't think I should have had to pay for the part though.

We had our home broken into and needed some repairs to our back door (including brick repair etc). We called Steve and he was very responsive and professional. He took the time to look at our door and see what exactly needed to be done. His estimate was also very fair. Unfortunately, the company we decided to get the doors from wanted to install them on their own, so we did not need Steve to prep the area. We would definitely use Steve in the future, though. His prices compared to other larger companies didn't seem inflated and he seemed liked he does quality work. He was also very prompt with his written estimate

very pleased with the final outcome. steve completed the job quicker than expected. he is respectful, professional, and honest...be sure to plan in advance as he is quite busy (and understandably so!). he always gets back to you, and even confirmed our appointment the night before. a great resource for new and seasoned homeowners alike who are looking for someone that can really do it all.

I called Steve to replace the very old a/c unit in my living room. He responded promptly and was able to come out within a few days for an estimate. The old unit was much larger than the new models, so the hole in the wall was bigger than the new unit I purchased. Steve put new trim work around the unit on the interior, then built a custom grating on the exterior to cover the gaps. He also installed a custom sloped piece on top to deflect water from the unit. The whole thing looks great, inside and out. Steve does quality work, and I would hire him again.

I first used Steve last week to repair my ceiling fan. Not only was he timely in returning my call, but he was even able to come out that same day to do the job. He was super efficient and pleasant during the whole repair of the fan. I made sure to keep Steve's contact information just in case anything else came up, and sure enough my closet rod inside my walk in closet needed some reinforcing to withstand the weight of my clothes. I called Steve first thing in am this morning and he returned my call within hours and again came out within 2 hours to do the repair. Timely, efficient, reliable, and very reasonably priced for both repairs. I strongly recommend Steve!

Agreed to come on 8/5/2013. Never showed up. Never called back.

He was at my home within 24 hours of initial contact to survey the job and had a cost estimate to me via email within 48 hours. Materials were ordered and the entire job completed within 10 days of initial contact. The work was performed quickly and on budget. The quality of the work was excellent. He was courteous and cleaned up after the job. I highly recommend his service.
