Zero stars if that were an option. Another provider assigned them to me on Monday to fix an appliance in my home. The scheduled date was Friday. They called Thursday after 5pm with a question. I had to run the appliance to make the error happen, so I said I'd call them back. 15 minutes later I did. No answer. Called multiple times, no answer and no machine to leave a message. Friday I call 90 minutes into my service appointment time to see what is up. He gets my info and asks me what the issue is. I tell him and he says they need to "order the part." I follow up asking if they are coming today and he says no. So if they have to "order the part" they knew they weren't coming YESTERDAY. He then lies, saying they'd been trying to reach me. My number has been the same for over 15 years and the first call from their number was the day prior. Had I not called them, they clearly wouldn't have called me. This is just unprofessional and disrespectful of people's time.

They were notified on 12/1/2018 that my LG refrigerator was not working and was under an warrantee. I was told the parts would take 3-5 days to obtain and they would call me back.. One week later I called and was told that the parts would take 1-3 weeks to obtain and they would call me back. I called four weeks later and was told they would call LG and would call me back. I called 1/2/2019 and they told me LG had cancelled the work order on 12/28/2018. I called LG Premium directly. They called RTA Services to tell them they never cancelled the work order. During the five weeks RTA never came out to inspect the refrigerator. They never called me.

My dryer started doing this thing where it would stop working after a few minutes. I called LG and they recommended RTA Service so I called them. A few days later, Dave shows up. He doesn’t seem interested in actually touching the dryer except to verify that it was doing exactly what I said it was doing. He called LG and said they told him it was the heater. I questioned this because the dryer was definitely getting hot, but he said that it has two heaters and one was broken. OK, what do I know? So he ordered the part and a week later, Mel shows up to install it. Mel immediately said that he did not think the heater was the problem, since the dryer was getting hot but not overheating, and also that it only has one heater. OK. He was perfectly willing to install the new heater and charge me for it though. Needless to say I vetoed that idea. We then had several phone conversations with Pete, the manager. Pete was of the opinion that the heater was the problem since Dave had diagnosed it by opening up the machine. I knew he hadn’t opened up the machine. Pete apparently disagreed. While we were waiting for a return phone call from Pete, I suggested that Mel, since he was here, could maybe open up the machine and check out the heater. Mel made it clear that he wasn’t feeling well and would rather just go home, but agreed to open the machine. But he couldn’t get it open. Apparently he had not brought the tool for that with him. Now me, if I were an appliance repair person, I would probably carry the tools that I needed to do my job with me, but that’s just me. So he leaves. I call Pete again, and he offers to send someone else out 5 days later and refuses to refund my money. So I call another company. Bob arrives two days later, and within 30 seconds figures out that the problem is that the dryer door isn’t closing properly. He fixes the door in another 30 seconds and I’ve been happily doing laundry ever since. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!

HORRIBLE, never us this company ever.
Description of Work: My Lowe's appliances are covered under warranty with this company, horrible experience every time. It has come to a point where I now pay for an outside vendor even though the appliances are covered under warranty. This is the worst company on every aspect. They are not professional, they don't fix anything and they take forever. Run away fast.

Run, don't walk, away from these people! I first called them with an extended warranty with Lowes on Nov.14th, They scheduled a repairman to come and then day of cancelled it and said they went ahead and ordered a part without even seeing it and after we planned a date for the repairman. After 6 or 7 calls, usually to a full voicemail box and cheap excuses, our repairman just left and after 6 WEEKS our Dryer is STILL NOT REPAIRED! The repairman told me last time he needed to order 2 parts including the control board. His manager overrode his request despite the repairman pleading on my behalf and after putting in the other part, the repairman just now confirmed we need the control board, it's still broken. The service tech was great but this company is awful!! I am a Pastor and Police Chaplain in Philly for 16 yrs. just so you know I'm a real person. Now on Dec. 29th, 2016 My Dryer is still broken and no end in sight. On phone with Lowes now.

They scheduled the assessment quickly and determined it needed a new igniter. I paid the deposit for the work and have not heard from them again. I received a response to one e-mail that the part was unique and would take a month to get in stock. I followed up several times after the date they told me it would be in, and can't get a response to schedule the repair. I called but they do not have a voicemail and it just rings.

I wish I could give zero stars - 1 star is one too many. We purchased the extended warranty on a refrigerator from Lowe's several years ago. We need a repair, so Lowe's scheduled with RTA. I came home 4 days early from our vacation at the NJ shore for a scheduled repair with RTA. Once home, I got a call from RTA stating that they couldn't come that day. The receptionist did not apologize and when I told her I came home early from vacation for this appointment, she simply stated "There's nothing I can do." They called a couple hours later and said they could come. The technician showed up in the afternoon, looked at the freezer and said he knew exactly what the problem was. He said he would have to order the part and it would take around 5 days to receive it. I waited almost 2 weeks and never heard back from RTA, so I called to follow up. They said the technician entered the job as "completed." I told them that the technician had not done any work, and they said they would look into it and call me back. I never heard back from them, so I called back the next morning. Again, they said they had to look into it, but would call me back. I never heard back from them, so I called back later that day and they said the technician informed them that he repaired the refrigerator and that the job was complete. The technician did no work on our refrigerator, and was here for approximately 5 minutes. RTA charged Lowe's for the visit and said the job was complete.

This is the worst company I have ever dealt with. It took forever to repair my turntable. It was an old turntable, and I expected it to take some time to repair, but they have no idea how to run a business and treat customers. They are rude, they will tell you they will call you, but they never do. So many excuses for over a year. They did not call me once to let me know what the status of the repair. They promised me at least 3 times it would be ready on a certain date, but it was not and they would not call to tell us it would not be ready as promised. Do not use this company.

Awful. Possibly because RTA has a contract with Lowes, they don't feel any need to quickly or efficiently deal with issues. It took us three weeks and four days to get the dishwasher repaired. We had to wait a week for an appointment. Then the guy didn't show, saying that he had to order parts. (I believe that he in fact cancelled because there was a "snow storm" that ended up being just a light dusting.) They never called to reschedule, so I called them and they gave me an appointment. Again we had to wait a week. When the guy got here, the parts he had ordered weren't related to the problem that we were having. No surprise- he never came to diagnose the problem. So, again he had to order parts. They wouldn't give us an appointment until the parts were in. I called back again, and they gave me an appointment for the following week. Miraculously, the dishwasher was fixed. I called so many times to complain. No one ever offered an earlier appointment, to rush the part order, or even apologize. Everyone who I spoke to on the phone was rude. I filed a complaint with Lowes, but I doubt that it makes any difference.

AWFUL!!! I dropped off my stereo on July 5, 2011. That was over 2 years ago and I still don't have it back. Every time I call I get the run around. Peter's on the phone, Peter's out to lunch, etc. A couple weeks ago, Peter answered the phone and I told him I wanted my money and stereo back. He said he would have someone call me to arrange. Of course, no one has called and he is always unavailable when I call. They tried to trick me also. They told me the stereo was fixed and to come pick it up. That was in March 2012. When I got it home and plugged it in, they hadn't fixed anything! I took it back and now they claim the parts have been on order and coming from "overseas" and that's what is taking so long. Really, it takes 2 years for a part to come in? RUN - don't walk - away from RTA.

I have an extended warranty for a Frigidaire refrigerator. I called RTA to have them come to fix the fridge and they stated that I had to bring the fridge to their shop for repair. I explained that the fridge is in a college dorm and the only way I could get it to their store was by bus. They said too bad, they will not come to the dorm.

Our washer, an LG front-loader, was leaking, but only when we used the steam cycle. RTA sent their repair technician about 3 days after my first contact with them. Paul was able to find the problem quickly and made an attempt to fix the leaking steam generator module with a spare part he had on the truck. It was not successful, so he made arrangements to obtain a new part. About a week later he came back out and installed that new part. He was very thorough in making sure that the new part did not leak, before closing up the machine. I was impressed with RTA as a company. They called the night before a visit and gave us a time window to expect the technician. On both occasions, the technician arrived within that time period, and called to let us know he was on his way to our home. Their pricing was reasonable, given what else is available in this industry. I would use them again.

A technician from RTA Service Company came to my house to repair my Samsung gas range, which is about five years old. The appliance has an electric igniter and a digital control panel. The problem was that the oven had stopped working, even though the broiler as well as the burners worked. After a cursory inspection of the control board and the inside of the oven, the technician reported that the ?main board? needed to be replaced. RTA ordered a new board and installed it a few days later. Total cost: $354.80 (including the cost of the initial service call.) The oven worked, but only for a couple of days. RTA came out again and this time the technician said that the gas valve was faulty. Cost of repair #2 (part, no labor cost): $98.00. A couple days later, the oven failed to light once more. After this, I searched the web for information about gas ranges. A very helpful article I found on the web said that when the oven in a gas range stops working while the broiler continues to work, the problem is almost certainly the igniter in the oven. An old igniter can function erratically, and that?s why the oven would work after these so-called necessary repairs were done. Then I called a different appliance service company. The technician from the second company inspected the gas range, and he performed a simple test, which the technician from RTA did not perform, which revealed that the igniter was indeed faulty and needed to be replaced. This technician even carried the spare part in his truck. Total cost: $175 (part +labor). My oven has worked perfectly ever since the igniter was replaced. I believe that the technician from RTA should have diagnosed the problem with the igniter initially. Instead, he recommended the most expensive repair, replacement of the main board, which I believe was not necessary. In addition, as the web article states, both the broiler and the oven use the same gas valve, so the problem was clearly not the gas valve.
