We gave Rob a deposit of 1700.00, to start the work. We have a paper contract stating the work and the price and that he guarantees the work for 2 years. Rob came to work a few days with his brother, Justin. It was going well at first. Things looked like they would be done good and on time. Then the snags started. His kid was sick one day (I understood that one), then he was stuck at another job. Then it was nice out so he did a concrete job that was outside work. Then he came back and worked a couple half days, told me to put a coat of primer on everything and he could see where we were and what he had left to do better (fill in nicks, or sand out bumps or smooth seems or whatever.) We paid him the balance at that point because he said he was guaranteeing the work and he was 95% done and it was right before Christmas and we're nice trusting people. He cashed the checks. He came back once after we primered. It was about 2 pm (1 week before Christmas) but he didn't finish the work. He said he would come back in the middle of the week with the right tools. He didn't show up. Then he was trying to get hired at a job and was stuck working doubles for them and could only get back to me via text from in the bathrom at this other job and would be here the following Monday. He never called or showed. I had taken off from work to wait for him to show him some corners and nicks and stuff. My wife and I both called and called, left email, messages to no return. He even has advertised on craigslist under a different number. I called and left a message. He still never returned any calls texts or emails. He was very likeable at first, but now I find him extremely unreliable and unprofessional. He held up the rest of the work. It is now the end of January. I have to hire someone else to finish the work and will be getting an attorney to deal with Mr. Medina's "finelyappliedplasters". I have unfinished ceilings that you can see the seems of the drywall tape the length of living and dining room and corners that are incomplete, and a wall that was missed entirely and a major headache.... Not to mention that this "bump" has caused us to postpone the rest of the work, we have to paint and install flooring and moldings and trim....We liked Rob at first and we were going to hire him for other work, and even got estimates for future work and had started handing his cards to people, but, I have to retract everything now. I don't think he will ever man up and come back to finish the guaranteed work....
Description of Work: Mr. Medina came to give an estimate in October, the work was to be completed by Thanksgiving. Drywall ceiling in living and dining room. Replaster walls of 2nd and 3rd floor. Make ready for paint.

Mr Medina was fine to begin with but he has run out on the job with thousands of dollars of mine and will not return my calls.
Description of Work: Mr Medina seemed to be a trustworthy competent business / tradesmen and was working with me up until a month ago. He was contracted to stucco the entire exterior of my house. We have had a number of hold-ups and he was unable to work over the winter due to the weather. This was all fine and we had agreed on this delay. Rob and his son did show up about two months age to finish the work, they put in a few half days and did some work but I have not seen them since. I have tried to call Rob daily but he has not responded or returned my calls. The bad news is that he is fully paid by me and the job is only 50% done.
