Response from Reiter Roofing
I am the estimator that was scheduled to go out to look at the roof for (Member name removed). I did call her ahead of time because I was not feeling well, and ask if I could go out to look at the roof with nobody home, because I did not want to reschedule her estimate for a different day, and she agreed that it would be ok. I did not need (Member name removed)to be there to access the roof, and am very familiar with this model of home. The reason that we do not work late into the afternoon, is that we are in the office at 6am, like most roofing companies. The majority of our customers take off of work if they want to be there when we look at the roof, and in a case like this that is not necessary. The building is a two story attached property, typical of the neighborhood it is in, and we have worked on literally thousands of them. They all have the same design issues, and problems. I spoke with (Member name removed) on the phone while I was at the property, and explained to her that I would work on the estimate over the weekend and get back to her early this week. I also explained that we do not leave hand written estimates in people's doorways, as I believe it looks unprofessional and leaves no opportunity to discuss the condition of the roof with the customer. Most of the people we deal with are not well versed in construction matters, and we find that verbal discussion is important. I did contact (Member name removed) on Tuesday afternoon as promised, and give her a verbal estimate which she told me she would think about. I have also unsuccessfully attempted to contact her at work today to find out why this F rating was left on Angie's list. I looked at her roof in person and do not appreciate being accused in a public forum of lying to a customer. there is a reason our ratings on Angie's List are very good, with few exceptions, we try to do our best to take care of our customers. I will attempt to contact her again. I would be nice if we could work this out via phone conversation.
