Day 1:, Mr Morgan and his workers left my house and left broken glass all over the floor of my other working bathroom. My dog found it first. Mr Morgan apologized, but blamed it on his workers. He did not cover to protect my hardwood floors during demo - so my hardwood is ruined. He did not ven bring his own broom - he used mine. He brought nothing but people. Day 2: Mr Morgan's "hired help" (later determined to have been his relatives) fell through the bathroom floor and my ktichen ceiling. It still isnt completely fixed - just patched. I have asked about it numerous times and he said it would be fixed, but it remains patched. Mr Morgan claims he fired his worker after that, claiming his worker was on drugs. Mr Morgan acted as thought he knew how to handle what I had in mind. I had hired a professional bathroom designer to come out and draw up plans. I emailed the plans to Mr Morgan. He later said he never looked at them and told me a designer wasnt needed. Mr Morgan seeemed to have HIS ideas of what should be done in terms of design. Ultimately, I spent several thousand dollars on plumbing supplies and fixtures. I dont know what happend to the insides of my expensive fixtures, but they wound up missing and not in my wall. After Mr Morgan did some of the rough-in work, he wanted to collect more money than we had agreed he would collect at that point. He claimed his car broke down and he needed money. I foolishly gave him an advance. Then he stopped coming - and sent his carpenter for 6 weeks without Mr Morgan returning. The carpenter told me that Mr Morgan was supposed to help him tile and he couldnt do it alone - so I had to pay for the carpenter to hire more help since Mr Morgan wasn't showing up. When I complained that the trash was piling up in my BEDROOM and I'd paid for removal, Mr Morgan came out with his help (the guy he claimed was on drugs) and removed some of the trash, but his help also robbed me..or so Mr Morgan claims. My son's video game went missing from the basement (the bathroom being worked on was on the second floor). Mr Morgan claims his worker admitted stealing it. When I asked Mr Morgan to return it early the next morning, he said he had basketball practive to coach and would be by right after - by 2. He showed up after 8pm with the game - no apologies. I made a comment to Mr Morgan about now knowing if anything would work and not seeing him test anything. He told me that if I ever had a problem with his work, he had a $2M insurance policy that would cover it. I asked him for the insurance policy on 3 occasions and he has never produced it. I am sure he didnt have one. At this point, I am thinking he isnt licensed. He was also supposed to get permits for my job, which I am now sure he never did. While we were waiting on Mr Morgan to show up to finish his work, I had paid him for rough-in, but it wasnt done. He worked on it one day and then had to leave early (as usual - some emergency with his kids). I asked him if I could at least take a bath that weekend. He said yes. The tub plumbing BLEW OUT OF THE WALL to the touch after he left. Water SHOT OUT of the handles (yes, the handles!) and also out of the back of the wall into my hallway. I called Mr Morgan and he didnt answer. I texted him and he said he knew (he knew!) parts were "missing" and he would come right back. Then he texted me back saying that I needed more parts and I should get them the following week - and he would come back then. I called in another plumber to look at what Mr Morgan had done. He came right over that night and determined that Mr Morgan had not put the plumbing together with the pins that hold it in place. The pins that came with the fixtures were gone - and I had to go get new ones. I went to the supply house and told my story - and they gave me replacement pins and other parts needed to finish. I paid another plumber to finish the job on the tub. I text messaged Mr Morgan that I would be replacing him as my plumber - he never responded - and I have not heard from him since. We had to redo the tub plumbing and then we tested the shower. It also didnt work. The new plumber says none of the pins are in the shower,so even if we get the water to work, we cant let the water say on becasue the parts will blow out of the wall (just like the tub). Mr Morgan did something with the interior Moen parts that hold the fixtures in place - I have to assume that he is so new at this, he had no idea what the pins were for so maybe he threw them away? Also, the temperature stop pins are gone (the safety mechanisms that stop the handle from making the water too hot). I am now paying this new plumber to redo all of that + get new parts to replace the parts I always paid for, which are now missing. Rememebr - this was THOUSANDS in parts - expensive fixtures. Also: The toilet is sticking out from the wall and completely misaligned. Mr Morgan did not bother to re-center it when we gutted the bathroom. He left it where it was, which doesnt work with the new wall positions. He also installed a shower base which could not be used with a frameless glass shower, HE KNEW I was getting a frameless glass shower and he even brought a guy out to give me an estimate on it - but I decided not to use his people for that. 3 glass guys came out and said I would need a special design for the base Mr Morgan installed, which is an old fashioned base they hadnt seen in 30 years. Everyone who came into the bathroom had the same reaction - "why that??" or "What the heck is that?". The sink rough-in was also out of alignment and the new plumber had to cut open my wall and move the plumbing to make the vanity work. After spending $15k on this bathroom, we still cant take a shower. I am a single mom. I waited many years to buy this house and now to get a nice bathroom for my daughter - which has turned into a cnightmare. There was suppsoed to be a second bathroom redo right after the first. The first was my hallway - the second was supposed to be my master - but with the expense of the second plumber to redo and all the extra parts to replace what went missing - I may never see my master bath get done. Meanwhile, Mr Morgan will keep taking jobs he can't handle - and grabbing money up front so he is paid before it falls apart.
Description of Work: I hired Mr Morgan (Plumb right) as a a General Contractor for a bathroom renovation in my home. He was to perform a complete renovation - and he brought in a carpenter and a couple of labor workers. First was demo - which he did quickly. I contracted $1,500 for demo of one bathroom. Althought I paid $1,800 for demo (Mr Morgan raised the price after the fact because his dump guy's truck broke down and he had to get a different guy). Much of the demo was placed on my back sunporch where I never noticed it until recently, It is still there - floorboards and all - I paid for demo and removal and he never finished the job. The job was to include gutting to the studs, debris removal, permits, plumbing, carpentry, tiling, flooring and electric. I was to buy my own materials + pay for labor on plumbing, electric, carpentry (including tile). I was also to pay a glass company for order and installation of a frameless glass shower. I'd already paid a professional bathroom designer for the measurements and design work + drawings/elevations.
