I believe her name was Marie, she called me to set up an appt the day after I purchased the inspection on roof on AngieList for $89 (I believe). She was very nice and professnl. We set a date for roofers to come and do work, however, she called me back in a couple of days to reschdl due to ran and other job the workers had scduld. She was extremely apolgtc and very accommodtg. We reschdld for a more convent time and date for me. On schedld day, Marie called to let me know the workers were a little late and for detailed directn to my home. Again she was super nice about it. The roofers came and the lead worker explaind what they were going to do...inpect roof, take pics of before and after of minor repairs and explain. They went on roof and in 10 mins came back down to show me the pics minor flaws in my roof. The lead worker (forgot his name) informed me that he could caulk one area but it prob wouldn't do any good. So in my head I'm like..(so why mention it?) Ok he showed me another problem area (bigger issue) and he also said he can calk it but it wouldn't do any good. In my head again..same quesiton..why mention the caulking? Ok so I told them to caulk (why not?) and he sent the other worker up to caulk the areas we have discussed. It took about 5 min and the lead worker went up to inspect and take pic. He came back down to show me the finished work. He was very nice but stated I need a new roof. Maybe I do or don't. The previous owner had new roof put on, maybe 4 years ago prior to me purchasg home. I did have a minor leak since purchas but due to warranty roofers came out and repaired at no cost to me and no more leaks in 2 years. So I am not a professional roofer so I don't know if I need whole new roof. He was professional and nice. Anywho..I asked the lead worker about brick pointing and shingles replacemnts whick I know needs to be done. He took down my email to send me the photos and estimt on new roof. I recvd pics and estimt of new roof as promised. Don't know if it was worth the price but, I least I konw what my roof looks like and the issues I had. I know I wasn't going up there (lol).They quoted me a good price (brick pointing/shingles) and I may use them in the very near future. A couple of days later Marie or Lori called to make sure I recvd the pics and estimate. She was very nice on voicemail. Marie and/or Lori (calls/follow-up) and the price quote are the main reason I gave the company a B and not a C.

I had a bad leak in my first floor powder room/dining room and, because we had so much rain this summer and my roof wasn't in the greatest shape, assumed that the roof was the cause. I called Phillips and he came out within a couple of days, agreed that the roof was the problem and sent me a quote within 48 hours. It took a couple of weeks to schedule the work, primarily because the rain had caused roofing problems for lots of people, and roofers can't work in the pouring rain. I had no problem with this - it was a bad summer for roofers (and roofs!) In the meantime, I put a couple of plastic tarps on the roof. The leak slowed down but water was still coming in. I hired a plumber who told me that the problem was with the wax ring on the toilet in the bathroom above the powder room. He replaced the wax ring, the leak stopped, but so did the rain. I wasn't sure what to do so I called Phillips and arranged to have the two roofs patched instead of putting new roofs on. Since then, I've had two contractors come out to give me estimates to repair the damaged bathroom and they both said that the roof that was repaired doesn't cover the powder room, and couldn't have been the cause of the leak. I'm not sure what to think. Even if the roof wasn't the cause of the leak, the patch job will get rid of one worry for me. On the other hand, I'm currently unemployed (which he knew) and coming up with the money for that (possibly unnecessary) repair was very difficult. For that, I gave him a D for Professionalism.

They were real responsive, easy to reach, communicate with, and were friendly too. The repairs required turned out to be more extensive than initially thought, but that was only evident after the many, many layers of previous material had been removed. They gave me a couple options, but on account of the state of the roof I didn't feel I had time to search for other estimates- but the price quoted seemed fair, and for next 3 to 4 days 2-4 people worked pretty continuously to demolish and totally rebuild the roof, and also clean up very well. It looks good now, I would call Phillips about future work.

They checked the roof and provided recommendations for service.

They followed up with me to see whether I had gotten the problem resolved. That shows great follow-up service. I will use them for my other home improvement needs!

CONTRACTOR ARRIVED ON TIME, WORKED 10 HOURS STRAIGHT, FINISHED UP THE NEXT MORNING. OFFICE STAFF KEPT ME UPDATED ON PROGRESS. ALL DEBRIS WAS REMOVED TIMELY. NO AMOUNTS WERE PAID UNTILL ALL WORK WAS REVIEWED AND COMPLETED. CONTRACTOR WAS LOWEST BIDDER OF THREE FROM ANGIE'S LIST.

They did a great job. They did what they said they were gonna do and the neighbors even said they did a good job.

I called Phillips Home Improvement after we had a week of bad rain storms which caused my roof to start leaking. When I called them i left a message and within a hour I got a call back from Marie. Marie told me she would send John out that very same day that i call. John came out and assessed the roof. After he told me the price i told him I had another guy coming in a week for another quote. After a week later and after we got the other quote from someone else me and my husband decided to go with Phillips Home Improvement. The day we got the roof done it was during our wonderful 8 day heat wave. The guys came at 8 am and were finished about 11am. Everyone from the company was soo nice and very caring of our situation. I highly recommend Phillips Home Improvement and I am definitely going to use them again in the near future.

Quick response. Very good communication prior to the job and while work was being completed. Initially suggested some additional roof repairs but, upon further review, they determined the repairs weren't necessary and gave me a discounted price for the job. Low key, professional manner. Very good price. I would definitely use them again and would recommend them to others. Finished product looks great.

Excellent communication to set appointment with follow up phone calls to confirm arrival time. The work was done effeciently and we received a follow up phone call after the first rainstorm to insure that there werre no leaks. We will certainly use Phillip's again. We have asked for a proposal for addtional work and will meet with John next week to discuss and potentially schedule various projects.

I signed up for an Angie's Big Deal "$99 for Spring Roof Maintenance Package" from Phillips Home Improvement LLC in late April 2013 and all I can say is that Phillips Home Improvement LLC did not honor the "Big Deal" in any way. They did call and make an apt shortly after I purchased the big deal (I was really pleased with that as some other roofing companies seem to have trouble making appointments with clients.) Their guy showed up a little late (I was ok with that since I've never met a roofer who did show up on time) the problem was that he didn't have a single tool with him (like seriously?) The big deal stated that he would 1 Resealing around any unsealed pipe collars, exhaust fans, vents and chimney flashing on up to four penetrations. Check for interior leaks that may not be noticeable from the exterior of your home. 2 Photos of other areas in need of repair. Areas of concern, if any, will be brought to the homeowner?s attention. 3 Summary report will be provided to each homeowner, and if needed a professional plan of action will be provided. There was no resealing as the guy didn't bring any caulk with him He didn't take any photos and I have never received a "Summary report" A few days after I received a follow up call from Phillips Home Improvement LLC and I explained that the fellow they had sent over had not done one single thing that I had paid for in the "Big Deal." They apologized and said maybe he was confused and had just done a "free" estimate - A "free" estimate that I had paid $99 for mind you! So they made another apt for him to come by. And this time he took some photos with his phone (I know right?! doesn't speak professionalism in any way) but I said ok fine send me the photos when you send me the summary report. To this day I haven't received a single thing from them. Bottom line I paid $99 for an Angie's Big Deal and got want any real roofing company would have given me as a "free" estimate (maybe a little less as any other real roofing company would have given me a report on the work I need done on my roof) Note: this is the 2nd Angie's Big Deal and the second scam ? I get the feeling that companies in need of a little extra income create these ?big deals? with no intention of following through and since Angie?s list does nothing to vet whether these deals are real or not the unethical companies get away selling these "non services."

He said it went well and that my roof was in good shape. This was an Angie's List special price.

The night before my appointment some bad storms rolled through. My appointment was for 9:00am but the company called to say there were some weather emergencies resulting from the storms the night before that they had to take care of immediately. The guys didn't end up coming until 12:00pm, but they were very professional and kept me in the loop the entire time about their ETA and what was going on. And they actually gave me a $25 discount for having to wait. I would absolutely call Phillips Home Improvement again for services in the future!

We got 3 estimates for the work. To be honest, this company was the most expensive of the 3, but we chose to work with them because they seemed to know what they were doing. We also wanted one place to do both the deck and the roof instead of hiring 2 different companies. There was some evidence of leaking on the ceiling below the roof, so we really wanted to be sure and get the roof fixed correctly to avoid issues in the future. John provided the most thorough estimate, the most sensible explanation of why the water might be leaking, and a plan for fixing it. When other contractors came, they were definitely not as thorough. When I mentioned to them some of the things John pointed out, that the roof overhang was too short or the door wasn't properly sealed, they looked at it and agreed with his assessment, but they didn't bring up these issues without prompting. Though Phillips Home Improvement was a bit more expensive, a roof is not something I wanted to cut corners on and I'm glad we didn't. John and his guys were prompt and professional. They called if they were to be late. They warned me when weather prevented them from working. They reduced the price when part way through they realized that the scope of the work had changed. One of his guys accidentally damaged the screen on the door, and John took $500 off the final bill to compensate. I feel like we got what we paid for.

These guys did a great job on our restaurant on S 13th St in Center City (IndeBlue). They were punctual, fixed the problems correctly and were fair priced. They worked fast and efficiently. The owner is nice, no attitude and honest. These guys will be my go to guys for roofing problems and I may even use them for carpentry since they also do home improvement too. Great job!

I had some trouble with scheduling and call backs but as far as the scheduling it was understandable due to the rain. John arrived on time and immediately went on the roof and sealed where possible. He didn't have good news for me since he said part of the roof felt marshmellowy and was in need of replacement due to water damage. I was surprized since the roof was 10yrs old, but John had mentioned areas where it was installed improperly or with the wrong caulking/sealent (Union Roofing).I had no visible ceiling damage other than around the downstairs drain pipe, but we could see from the attic the sheets that had problems. John seemed to be a straight arrow to me and I would recommend him, Just waiting on the estimate for the larger job and a decision. **@$5300 for roof replacement

John was GREAT! He came out right away and all work was completed quickly. Some new issues came up after work was completed (through no fault of John or His crew) and John came out right away to take care of it. John and His crew are polite and very easy to work with. I will recommend this company with full confidence.

John was courteous and punctual. A crack in the material used around the chimney was sealed. I believe that has stopped the problem in that area. Another roofer looked at my roof and took some pictures. The first company that installed the new rubber roof did not seal the edges of the rubber that were put down. There was water underneath. There was no capping on the party wall. That job isn't the work of Phillips Home Improvement, but I did pay Phillips for what I hoped would be information on what was going on with my roof work. It is not reasonable to have a leak in less than a year when the roof was supposed to have a 10-year warranty.

Provider was on time and professional. Work was completed in an adequate timeframe. Payment was not due to completion and received a 15 year warranty.

We'd had problems with a roof leak under an (improperly installed) deck, so we called John to fix the roof and install a new railing. While he was here, we also had him take a look at our main roof and paint it white. The first part of the job involved demoing the old deck railing and parapet and it couldn't have gone more smoothly. The work crew laid down a tarp in our back yard, so nearly all of the little bits of debris were collected at the end of the day. They worked quickly and carefully and later that day I had a new torch-down roof. The railing system that we selected took a few weeks to show up (we told John to use the cheapest shipping method because we weren't in a hurry), but they called twice in the interim to let me know that I was still on their schedule and that the parts were in transit. Once the weather cooperated, the railing went in without a hitch. John came back a week later to install a downspout bracket to complete the work. Great things about Phillips Home Improvement: 1. They're responsive. After John gave me a bid for the job, I emailed him a few times with questions and he always responded withing a day or two. During the job, he quickly responded to text messages as well. 2. Fair price. We had three companies look at our roof and they were all within a few hundred dollars of each other. 3. Neatness. We're used to home improvement projects leaving a mess, but that wasn't the case here. Best part is that it's been raining on and off for the past few days and no water's getting in. When we need roof work in the future, Phillips is who we'll call first.

Once purchased, they were very responsive and returned my call right away. We scheduled the inspection and on the day of the service, they called to let me know that they were on their way. Arrived and got right to work after asking me if there were any specific things I wanted addressed. Photos were taken of areas of concern on the roof and an area that was open was caulked closed. They recommended a new roof because of its age and signs of wear (with photos on his phone to show me) and promptly provided an emailed estimate for the work the following day. The office called for any follow up questions or concerns and were extremely polite and responsive. We are not able to have the work done this year, but will certainly call them back next year for the job.

John and his crew was here on time ready to work, they removed all debris. I have a 15 year warranty on the rubber roof. I had to wait until in rained to see if the roof leaked, I could not detect any wet spots. I am happy with the work and will use them again if need be. I was able to get a 10% discount. Thank you John for being thrustworthy and honest.

Overall I had a good experience with this company and plan to hire them again

From proposal to project completion, John and team showed up on time and ready to work. For the roof, they carefully removed green roof material to expose the leaking portion of the roof and make repairs. They also pointed out problems with the original roof installation and even provided pictures to document these problems before repairing them. They carefully sealed leaking windows and repaired water-damaged drywall. John even called after the first rain storm to make certain there were no more leaks. I will definitely work with Phillips again!
