Services we offer
Residential concrete work including driveways, patios, sidewalks & basements.
This is the second job Paul's Cement Work has done for us and they are just the best! On time and on the job - no time wasting. They do beautiful work, clean up everything and are great with neighbors and folks who have to get by the work site, etc. They are a great team and a bunch of great guys. In this case it was the creativity of Paul that helped us move forward with a beautiful design for our front steps. His ideas worked perfectly and I don't think we would have come up with them ourselves.
Description of Work: Tore out our old front step surround. Repaired the pointing, etc in the steps and installed stone slabs for the gate to go into.

The service went well. My son watched them work and said they worked very hard and did a great job. The technicians were very professional and good to work with. They were efficient and great at cleaning up after themselves. They made sure to pour a lot of cement which is important for a new driveway. Paul was very nice to work with as well. My only concern is that there was a small crack in the cement and I am waiting to see if they can come back out to repair it. There was also a retaining wall that was orange that they were supposed to paint but they forgot. There was just some confusion on that so I cannot blame him for that. He did one extra thing for the railing to support it better with a cement block. I was very pleased with the cement job, overall. There was another crack that came about and he did not come back out until August. He fixed the crack and it looks awful and he told me not to throw salt down because my driveway was flaking due to the winter time because it messes up the driveway. I called him back to let him know I was not happy because when he came by I was not home but he left a note for what he did. I have not heard back from him and I have been very patient.
Description of Work: I hired the company to install a new cement driveway, 4 blocks out front and some steps.

We contracted Paul and his company to remove and replace our existing sidewalk and construct a new driveway. It was a pretty big job and we had other contractors give us estimates that were extremely high. Paul not only completed the job in a stellar and professional manner but his pricing was right on point. The workers were courteous, friendly and professional while maintaining a clean work environment and worked so quickly and efficiently; you could immediately tell Paul's crew were very experienced. The job was done in a few days and I couldn't have been more pleased with the finished product. The following we ran into a situation. Over night while the cement was drying, people came and decided to tag there names all over the sidewalk which was still in the process of drying. We were upset and frustrated and called Paul first thing in the morning. We knew it wasn?t his problem but we were hoping there was something or anything he could do to fix the mess and we were willing to pay whatever. He was just as upset as we were and assured us that he would take care of it. Not only did he send his son to stop by to check out the finished job and the damage done but he also stopped by on his own. He called us to provide us with a remedy, and we were relieved to discover that they could smooth out the concrete and then dye/tint the gray color to match the remainder. Before we knew it, it was smoothed out with the names erased and we called Paul to ask how much it would be and he said ?No charge!? We were so very thankful for his diligence and him keeping his promise to fix our pavement. We have recommended him to several family members who are looking to get concrete work done in the near future and we ourselves plan on working with Paul and his team on a few other projects int the months to come. We recommend him with flying colors!

We called several cement folks looking to repair about 20 4'x4'; blocks in our sidewalk and some larger ones in our driveway. Paul, Sr. came out that day to survey the work and make an estimate. It was more than we had figured, but he explained the work and worked in a discount, It was still a little more than we had figured, but it turned out to be lower than two other estimates we got. So we took it. The next day his workers appeared as scheduled and commenced to work, completely tearing out some blocks and partially tearing out and repairing some others. They did the job quickly and professionally over two days, leaving tape around the work to keep folks off of the wet concrete and putting tape up to protect the site. There were two additional block added to the job, but they talked about that with us before adding it in; we agreed to the work and the slight increase in price. They came back two days later and removed the tarp and tape, and the concrete had dried to a beautiful and attractive finish. They told us how to care for it for a couple of years in the event of snow so the concrete could more fully mature. The worksite was cleaned up, There were no surprise charges, the workers were very polite. We were quite pleased and would recommend them.

Paul went above and beyond the routine service I anticipated. He evaluated the job then delivered his estimate to me where I work! The entire sidewalk replacement and porch pier repair was completed within a 2 week timeframe for a very reasonable cost. Paul delivered a simply GREAT result. I appreciated his personal response to this work we had done at my fathers home. It was like working with a neighbor and a huge relief for us. Obviously with confidence I have and would recommend everyone to use this contractor.

The Leak was not resolved due to a crack sewer pipe. But that not my issue, I was never given a receipt for the work. I called Paul twice regarding the receipt and was told twice to text my request. I sent two separate texts on 10/1/2014 and 10/24/2014 and still no receipt was mailed.

Paul and his crew did the job in one day. We had some leaking on our back wall and the old stucco was cracked and very thin. Paul re-stuccoed the entire back wall in a similar color to the original stucco. He completely waterproofed the wall and we haven't had any problems with leaking since. Great job overall and our house is now the best looking on the street.

Paul was very prompt in replying to my request for an estimate, gave a good price and was able to schedule the work quickly. He entirely removed all the debris from the old walk and the new walk looks perfect. It is only a few days old, but I'm very pleased. There was no damage at all to the lawn or nearby planting. This is a family business local to Philadelphia and I will definitely use them again for the next cement project.

There had been an initial delay in scheduling, but on the work day the crew showed up promptly. I thought things went smoothly. The guys were friendly and told me what was happening My steps look great. The guys did some patching on my neighbors steps as a courtesy. Very nice!
Description of Work: My old crumbling front steps were demolished, rubble was removed, area was swept up. The joined neighbor's steps were cut free and my steps were framed for fresh cement. The cement work was a two step process as the edge was bull nose style. Once the cement was in place the area was neatly cordoned off.

After contracting Paul and his crew to replace a portion of our sidewalk that was repaired perfectly, we hired him to reseal and repair cracks in our stamped concrete driveway that had been damaged after the many snowstorms and ice throughout the winter of 2013-2014. We then hired Paul to resurface several stucco walls that were badly faded and stained. His crew applied Thoroseal Coating to the affected walls, and we are very pleased with the results. His prompt, courteous response to our requests for quotes and repairs to our exterior hard surface areas is very satisfactory. We look forward to hiring him again in the future.

I got three estimates for the stucco repair and all were about the same price. I went with Paul because he was so professional and responsive. The existing stucco is very bumpy and his crew did a terrific job matching the texture and ivory color. They arrived on time, built a scaffolding to reach the second story, and completed the work carefully. They also patched a couple other spots for no extra cost! Outstanding work!

He was great but the estimate was a bit of a surprise because we had no idea what this was going to cost us. Living in the city, everything tends to be a little bit more money because you have to maneuver in little ways. He did come promptly and he gave me the estimate promptly. We called two other people and one said he wouldn't work in the city, at all, and one gave us another name because he couldn't do it either! I liked him, he was very prompt in his responsiveness. If the price was right, I would definitely use him. He was very nice. He answered my call right away and came fairly quickly.
Description of Work: We have a crack on the side of our home on the upper level which looked like I got a little worse over the winter. You would have to go on my neighbor's roof to fix it, so it would be a bit of a complicated issue. He gave me an estimate.

They tore up the old concrete and laid down tarp because it started to snow... it took about 2 weeks to get them back out... Because we had to wait for the snow to melt... His crew came out on a Saturday and did the work... they were professional and friendly... We thought they were such a great crew we even bought them lunch... After the job was done we noticed there was a hairline crack going down the concrete where Paul and his crew did some work for us previously a few months back... And another crack out front of our house on the pavement... This was not there before they started the work... at least we didn't notice it and they never mentioned it before starting to work... So I mentioned it to his son who said "Yeah I noticed that too... I'll have to talk to my dad about that" When Paul got back with my husband he mentioned the ground was cold and due to the recent snow storm that was a possibility why it cracked... and that my Neighbor had cracks in his yard which propbably leaked water under their yard to our yard and caused the concrete to crack... my husband asked how come none of my other neighbors concrete didn't crak due to the recent snow storms... there wasn't a reasonable explanation as to why... Plus here was a Gap on our back wall approx. 2 feet left opened which they were going to have to come back and fill in once the cement dried... it took approx 4 weeks to finish that portion of the job... and we had to call them to get them out there... in the mean time I had heat from my house excaping thru the gap... and now we just found another crack in the most recent work that was done... This is not the first time I have used this Company... He has done our whole yard piece by piece... we had him re-build our Chimney... we had him build a missing foundation wall in our yard... I really haven't had any reason to complain until now... We were thinking of having him come out to remove our old Stucco and replace it with new screen and new Stucco... My Husband is getting new prices from other people... Hubby is not a Happy Camper... We've spent over $10,000.00 on work from this Company... I am just dissapointed that we started out with craked concrete in our Yard and now we still have cracked concrete in our yard...

They removed all of the old concrete driveway and replaced it with concrete. Excellent workmanship and punctuality. The sidewalk on both sides of the new driveway was neatly sawed off and blended into the new concrete. No disturbance of the neighbor's lawn or plantings. Also provided multiple barriers to keep people from walking on the new concrete. Did an excellent cleanup job and left nothing to be cleaned up or thrown away by us. Friendly and cooperative staff. Several people commented on how nice the new driveway looked. Drainage angles were done properly to direct rainwater away from the house.
Description of Work: Replaced driveway from street to garage door with new concrete. Built new curb. Total of about 95 feet of concrete. Also repaved areas to the side of the driveway and patched concrete steps leading from the driveway to the house (the driveway runs along the front lawn and side of the house).

The city (at the request of the previous owners), cut down the tree that was in front of my home in sidewalk next to the curb. This left a space of just dirt and also some cement that had risen over time do to the growth of the tree roots. There was also still some of the tree root left behind as well. I went online and requested a free estimate from Paul. He contacted me and came by my home three days later and gave me an free estimate on the cost of the work. He assured me that he could remove the remaining root, which wasn't much and break up any uneven cement and pour new cement for me so that the sidewalk would be even. Two days later Paul and his crew came and did the work. They were polite, professional and did the work in a timely manner. They also put up tape and cones to make sure that the drying cement wasn't disturbed. I'm very pleased with their work and the cost for the work was fair and actually less than I had anticipated. I would definitely use their services again!

Paul is great! very personable and friendly. We played phone tag for a while over snow storms. But he came out quickly and gave us a quote before he left. He seemed to understand exactly what we wanted. I believe he has done this a thousand times in other basements, so he was confident and very knowledgeable. His prices are reasonable and did not surprise me. They were a little late on the first day... but there was some snow that morning. All in all it took his team 1.5 days to completely redo my basement. it looks amazing. And now all I have to do is wait for the cement to dry before I paint it.

Paul came came in much cheaper than other companies we had called and was easy to deal with. Paul was able to fix all the mistakes and shoddy work the other contractor left us with. Paul was also worked EXTREMELY quickly. He completed the stucco job on our whole house in approximately 2 days. The previous contractor would ask for money, do a little bit of work and disappear for two weeks, so this was a GREAT relief to us. Paul did a wonderful job too, we received MANY compliments from our neighbors. We would highly recommend Paul's Cement Work to anyone who needs stucco work done!
Description of Work: We called Paul to give us an estimate on completing a stucco job another contractor ripped us off on. The previous contractor just set up some screening around our house, took our money and never came back.
