Paul's Cement Work

The price was good. Work was good. They seem to know what they were doing.

Paul's Cement was always quick to respond, i was immediately given a quote but dragged my feet in interviewing over a dozen other contractors; several months later I hired Paul's Cement, he still honored the price and finished the job days ahead of schedule. His team did a fabulous job and were very much dedicated and showed up every day they said they would be there. We have a lot of young children on our block and i was concerned with the safety of my neighbors kids since the majority of the work was being done while i was away; but Paul's Cement did a fantastic job keeping the area safe and secure and he sent me pictures and kept me updated every step of the way. I get lots of compliments on the beautiful brick and cement work! Over a month later when the weather was below freezing I had a small issue with one area outside of patio front, I asked Paul if he could swing by and check it out some time, and he surprised me with an amazing patch job. His first impression may not blow you away, but the customer service and beautiful work sure does!

Paul responded with a quote within a day and when he came back out later he lowered it. He completed the job quickly and without any headache. Best price and best interaction of the 2 companies I interacted with for this job. I would recommend this company.

He came out to give us an estimate. I really liked him but we didn't end up using him. We didn't end up doing the work at all. It wasn't that we used someone else. We have not done the work yet. He really took his time to explain what the problem was and went over my options with me. He was great. I wouldn't change anything. He was friendly and professional.

They arrived on time, did a great job, cleaned up, and performed well!

I spoke to Paul by phone explaining what I wanted. He came leaving his business card. I tried to contact him twice leaving messages. He never responded. I hired someone else.

They were prompt and I received a hand-written estimate, within 24 hours of contacting them. The estimate was a very brief description of the work to be performed and a total price. The price appeared to be reasonable however, it lacked a detailed scope of work to be performed. I contacted Paul about getting a more detailed written estimate. I was told his son does the estimates, and hadn't been at work for two-weeks, as a result of a relative's illness. Well, as a customer, am I suppose to wait patiently, until they decide to get back to me? I don't think so! It's now been three-weeks, since initial contact, and I have yet to received a detailed written estimate. Suffice it to say, I won't be calling again, on their services!

Paul was a pleasure to deal with and the crew that did the work were also pleasant and easy to deal with. I got estimates from 3 different companies and Paul's came in less for the same scope of work. Paul came out and gave me an estimate within a reasonable amount of time of initially contacting him. I took about a month before I was ready to do the work but when I contacted him, he was able to get me on the schedule within a week or so. The overall job itself went quickly and I'm very pleased with the results. Only improvement I would ask is that I needed a written estimate to provide to my condo association - since Paul gave me the initial estimate over the phone, it was a little challenging getting an actual written estimate emailed to me.

I sent Paul an email on Friday about possibly fixing my front steps. He called me on Saturday and had already stopped by the house to look at them and gave me an estimate. On Monday morning I called him to confirm that I'd like to have the work done and not only was it finished by noon but it was excellent work. Fast, efficient, and quality work. Couldn't ask for better service. Will definitely be calling Paul again and would recommend his company to anyone who needs cement work done.

My pavement was sinking and cracking and badly in need of replacement. Paul's Cement workers were at my home early in the morning and by the time I got home from work everything was completed. A neighbor of mine said that they watched the work being done and was impressed by their work ethics and the time and manner of how they performed the work. I thought they did a great job and have already recommended them to others and should the need arise I will use them again. I would like to say thank you to Paul and his son's and everyone else who was involved with laying the cement.

Paul was always available when I called. His estimate was fair and honest with no surprises. He listened to my concerns and offered suggestions for improvements but didn't pressure me into having them done. Crew was on time and completed the work in a day. Very professional and neat. Could not be happier with the result! Thank you Paul and crew.

My sidewalk and curb was laid by someone else years ago, who did not know what they were doing. Paul gave me an great estimate and promised me a beautiful sidewalk . Based on the results, I can definitely say that he came threw with his promise. His crew was professional and arrived on time for the three day job which also included repairing and painting the garage wall , as well as a wall leading up my basement steps and the wall in my heater room. I have already recommended him to a relative and would definitely use him again if I needed cement work.

They were very professional from start to finish. After the initial contact and viewing the work area we settled on a price. His team was on time on the day the work was to be done. They finished exactly when they said they would and cleaned up their workspace. Keep in mind that this was a row house with no access from the back so cement had to be brought in through the living and dining rooms. The put down tarp and when I went back to check the finished product there was little if any evidence that they had to bring cement and equipment through the house. The basemen itself was done extremely well and in one day. I was very happy with the work and plan on using him again.

Prompt correspondence leading up to job. Spoke with Paul directly each time. Paul and his team (sons and other family members) completed the job in one day. Pleasant, kind guys all of them. Impressed by their courtesy. Work done on budget without any surprises.

When he first put it down, I was upset. The cement was white. All the other cement I have is a beige color and it stood out like a sore thumb. He never told me ahead of time that the cement was going to be white. I didn't know there were other colors. He didn't even give me a choice. My steps were grey, but I thought they hadn't cured yet. I was glad to have it done but unsatisified. A crack occurred in the winter 2014. I was told to call him in the spring time of 2015. My driveway started to flake and another crack occurred. I've had cement work before. I've never had it flake or crack. I called in April 2015. I called him maybe 3 or 4 times. In August 2015, my son came over. He found a paper saying that the driveway was flaking because my neighbors had thrown salt on the driveway. The tech did fill in the cracks, but the stuff he filled the cracks with is whiter, and it stands out. When he did the work, I had the driveway moved over 18 inches. This meant that the grass was going to come down. I needed a retaining wall built. He said that it wasn't included. He put in scalped bricks, and asked me if I liked it. I said yes, and he said it would be $300 dollars. I let it go, because it looked right. My son said it looked alright. I think he poured cheap cement because black stones are appearing. I have grey steps, a white side walk, and my original sidewalk is beige. I have called him 3 or 4 times and he has ignored me. I've left several messages on his voicemail and he hasn't returned any calls. I would not recommend him to anyone.

Paul and his crew replaced our front entry steps on 10/14/15. I called for an estimate and got it within a few days of my call. He explained the process and answered my questions before the work began. The crew was on time. They were efficient, professional and skilled. They kept the area clean during the job and cleared all the debris after the work was completed. They came back the next morning to make sure everything was okay. At no time did I feel that the crew was just doing the bare minimum; I got the sense that they took real pride in the work they do. I am extremely happy with the work and the price I paid. I would hire this company again without hesitation

The owner, Paul, answered the phone my first try. He took down my information and was able to run by the property the same day for bid purposes. Later that same day he phoned me with his proposal. Since he was in line with other proposals I awarded him the job. He was able to get a crew out the next day and in about seven hours the job was banged out. I drove by and inspected it and it looked perfect. Couldn't be happier.

I contacted Paul's Cement Work while at work on Tuesday to get a quote. Paul was in my neighborhood and called me back an hour later with a price. It sounded fair to me, so I agreed. Paul mentioned he could get the work done the following week. Turns out he was able to do it much sooner and I got a call Friday morning saying they could come out that day. Both Pauls and the crew showed up before I left for work and described the job. They were very friendly and professional. Later that day, when I arrived home from work I found the job to be completed and the area roped off to protect the new cement. Paul came out the next morning to remove the barriers. Job was fast, clean and painless. Should have done it sooner.

I thought Paul was very nice otherwise, but when I messaged his company to say thanks for your time and be polite to let him know we had been searching for other companies in his absense since he was too busy to respond, we assumed he was just too busy to do the work also. So I messaged them thanks but going to get estimates from other companies now, the response was "I hope you find someone who doesn't mind getting jerked around" and I sent one email to the fence person he recommended and after meeting, I sent him an email that had a few questions to make sure we were on the same page with the plan..................never to be heard from again. Apparently Paul's cement said they didn't appreciate all the questions I was asking...............I sent one email after our meeting/estimate to go over details and they wouldn't respond............so I didn't try again. What an outfit! Save yourself the lack of professionalism and save some time, find another company.

With very cold weather coming quickly I needed to get the sidewalk concrete blocks replaced ASAP. Paul and his crew were able to come out the next day to replace the concrete blocks and added some additional concrete on either side of the driveway lip to prevent sinking. Paul and his crew protected the concrete from freezing and clearly marked it so that no one would step in the curing concrete. The concrete cured well and there are no cracks even after being subjected to the very cold winter. My only complaint, which is very minor, is that they didn't come back to remove the material covering the concrete and take back the caution signs that were put up to warn people walking by. Overall I was very happy with their work and grateful they were able to come out so quickly and I will definitely consider using them again in the future.
