We also make custom decks and patios and offer some hardscaping and post / beam work. We specialize in kitchen and bathroom remodeling. We have offer carpentry services which include custom steps, railing, trim work, bookshelves, fireplaces, and so forth. We do insurance repair work. We offer a wide variety of electrical and plumbing work.

We at Mr. Contractor Inc. take our Angie's List reviews very seriously. We have pulled this customers contract and have found we did bathroom repairs for her in 2012. We have no notes or flags on her account listing any type of complaints for either materials used or craftsmanship. This review she posted is the first we have heard of this customer saying she is unsatisfied. We are further confused by the rating of A in professionalism yet low grades in everything else as well as what she stated as " cheap appliances". We did not install appliances for this customer. We have tried to reach out to this customer on the phone numbers we have for her on file, one is disconnected and the other states her mailbox is full. Our hope is that she would see this response and reach out to us so that we may discuss her concerns which is what should have been done if she felt there were "issues" in the first place instead of just randomly posting a bad review. We stand behind our craftsmen and the materials we use at all times.

Although we do not claim to be the cheapest contractor around, we certainly aren’t the most expensive. However, we do go out of our way to setup appointments with our potential customers to review the work they want done, and then provide them with a free and no obligation estimate. If the potential customer was unhappy with the price, we would expect them to not use us. But to go on Angie’s List and give us a “D” grade for work that was never performed but involving a price they are not happy with --- that seems rather ridiculous. Strangely enough, when looking back at our appointment book we could not find any record of this person calling in. All 3 of our salesmen could not find an appointments with this listed address. This person states that we provided the estimate on July 24th, but that is on a Sunday and we are closed and never have appointments on weekends. I believe this person is either mistaken or potentially making a fraudulent review. If there was merit to this review, more detail should have been provided other than 6 total words. And again, just because they did not like the price - this should not equate to a bad grade. We take our reputation seriously! It is because of our returning customers and leads from Angie’s List that we are a successful 3rd generation family owned company!

Description of Work: Complete new set of stairs, including stringers, railing with 1st & 2nd floor return, oak treads & risers. New baseboard ran from front door, up stairs to bathroom casing. Everything painted or stained to preference.

Description of Work: Mr. Contractor and Kenny, specifically, were recommended by a friend who has used them several times. Also checked them out on AL. I originally called to have my add-on 2nd fl bathroom re-stucco'd at the suggestion of the 4th roofer who was trying to find the source of an unending leak. He felt my roof was fine but there were holes in the stucco. Kenny swore he would stop the leak, and we agreed on insulated siding instead. The roof continued to leak during the next storm. True to his word, he brought in his roofer, who (I am cautiously optimistic) seems to have solved the problem. They also replaced & painted 2 doors, capped 4 front windows and painted the front door & trim, replaced all locks and hardware and repaired & painted the drywall in the bathroom, and probably a few things I'm leaving out. The crews show up on time, go right to work & clean up when they leave. When I found a couple of things that needed correcting, they were completed (one thing left to go). I ended up spending more than I expected, but I feel confident about the work that was completed, and I think it was a good value. My only complaint (a small one) is the carpenter who fits the baggy-jeans stereotype. (Thankfully, they did stay up.) There has been only one miscommunication. I have already referred a friend, and she seems quite happy, too.

Description of Work: Mr. Contractor renovated the one story addition to my historic row-house. Including; masonry restoration, pouring concrete rat slab, new sub-flooring and finished floor, walls and exterior door. The job involved four sub-contractors; Cement/masonry, carpenter, plumbing/heating and electrical, they all did quality work. Kenny was always in communication, was attentive to keeping the work on schedule and responsive of our needs. We are satisfied with the work done by Mr. Contractor. The new garden room looks terrific.

We always appreciate the comments our customers leave. We realize we don't always get things 100% correct - although we typically have many happy returning customers since 1949. We always try to improve as a company and we always put our customers first. However, there are times we need to better clarify a negative review left by a customer. It seems that there are some inconsistencies in the chain of events. First, the job was not contracted at $11,000 but rather $7,680. Second, the work was actually completed in April of 2014. Third, we attempted to help resolve the issue by making 3 separate visits (once by Ken Spector and two other times by the lead carpenter Jimmy). Despite it being more than a year since we completed work at the home, we still are willing to visit and attempt to resolve the issue. However, as we told the customer on each of our visits - the problem she is experiencing with the closet doors coming off the tracks has to do with how she is packing the closet and subsequently forcing the doors closed. This practice is causing the doors to come off their tracks. We have replaced parts and readjusted the doors, but until the the closets are packed less, this issue is bound to continue. We are sorry to hear our customer is not happy, but all we can do is offer our assistance and advice.

Description of Work: We had several boards that needed to be repalced on our deck and a railing reattached. From beginning to end this was a great experience. They were on tme for the initial estimate and said we could replace some boards with out replacing the entire deck at this time. They also actually completed the work a week early. Also the entire team was very polite and professional. I will definitely use again in the future and recommend them to others

Description of Work: The provider scheduled a date, 6/8/2015, to sign the contract to install a new vinyl floor with an estimate of $2700, but he called and said that " his wife called and told him to come home," so the appointment scheduled for 5:00pm was cancelled. He will not be used to install my floor, since he is unreliable. I took two hours off from work to meet with him at five o'clock on time , but he was a no show ; he called at 4:17 to cancel.
