Barry was prompt to the appointment. He called me an hour before our scheduled appintment to let me know he could be available sooner, but unfortunately I was not ready, so he waited patiently and arrived on time. He listened to my issues carefully and provided a proposal within a couple of days clearly reflecting how to address my problems. He provided me with subs who could address the issues he couldn't. Ultimately, I went with a different contractor who had the staff available to address all of my issues in-house. Barry seemed like a knowledgeable & professional contractor from our appointment and I appreciated his honesty on what his team was capable of and what they weren't.

it went terribly. A simple kitchen remodel, turned into a 9 month process adding in a bathroom re-model. The quality of the work was sub-par. The one day I arrived home to find they threw trash away on top of the finished walnut cabinet doors!! They were hired to manage the re-model process, but continually refused to do certain work, leaving us to find other contractors, like flooring subs. They never offered names of subs to price. A year later things are already falling apart. The main reason the whole kitchen re-model was started was due to a leak above the window in the kitchen. The window was replaced, outside siding was replaced, and roofing work completed....there is STILL a leak above the kitchen window, which they claim has nothing to do with work they installed. I would not recommend using Mr. Contractor for any finish work.

I could not be happier! The work done by Joe and Reese was amazing. They were able to take a sketch that I had made and replicate it perfectly. I got exactly what I wanted. They worked quickly and efficiently and the final product was incredible. We have received many compliments. Both gentlemen were a pleasure to work with and very professional. I will be seeking their services for my next carpentry project.

I have used Mr. Contractor for two large jobs. The first was about a year ago when we had a pipe burst while away for the weekend and had to have a significant amount of drywall removed and replaced and all the hardwood floors through our entire house replaced. Kenny from Mr. Contractor was very helpful working with the insurance company and was very responsive. The work was completed on time and was all very well done. Kenny was available any time via phone or text and answered any questions and was able to make adjustments without any issue. The second and most recent time we used Mr. Contractor was this month (May 2016). We were having some issues with our stucco exterior and also wanted to relocate our laundry room from the basement to the third floor, which involved remodeling our master bathroom. Kenny, once again was very responsive and provided some great ideas for our bathroom design. Mr. Contractor was able to locate and deal with the stucco issues and provided a few options for solutions in different price ranges. We opted to have them frame and put siding over top of our stucco after they corrected the mold issues underneath the stucco iteself. This had been an issue since we moved into our house and several contractors had been unsuccessful in locating and fixing the problem. In addition, Mr. Contractor relocated our laundry room and remodeled our bathroom. The work was first class and the attention to detail is really impressive. Kenny was again very responsive. I can't recommend Mr. Contractor enough.

Obviously, things did not go well. Mr Contractor had been recommended to us by our realtor and there are literally hundreds of positive reviews on Angie's list. Thus, I was very surprised by the lack of a timely response by Mr Contractor. Please note that although I am answering the question below "Address Where Work was Performed" but no service was actually performed at this address.

Excellent work. Came when they said they would. Did an outstanding job. Going to use them for our rotted front entrance and new railings for our main staircase.

I am an "absentee landlord" renting to my adult kid in Philadelphia. Kenny was absolutely INVALUABLE in doing a quick check of several houses I was looking at purchasing in the limited time I had on-site. He knowledge of the anatomy of Philly row houses, and which were sound and which had had repairs done badly or needed significant repair, was obvious and impressive. His scheduling flexibility on short notice was much appreciated during the ups and downs of trying to buy real estate long distance. Thank you, Kenny. Therefore, I felt confident relying on Mr. Contractor to do immediately needed repairs to the house I bought, without onsite supervision. Mr. Contractor is FAST, which I appreciated, having dealt with other contracting jobs that seem to drag on and on. They did request a relatively large deposit. I think the price was quite fair but not a bargain; I didn't have time to find individual contractors and supervise them. The one-stop, professional and quick work, and the peace of mind that comes with it is, in my opinion, what you are paying for with this company and is well worth it. When finished, they sent pics of the exterior of the house and asked me to pay the balance. I exercised common sense and asked my kid to check the work prior to paying, and indeed there were some punch list items that really should have been fixed -- the window installer put a hole in the drywall, the new interior door frame was raw wood, unpainted, and one of the new windows didn't lock. (I'm guessing the workers assumed that, it being a rental, I would be spackling and repainting the entire interior. They should have asked.) On the plus side, Mr. Contractor responded immediately and sent someone to address the issues the day after I reported them. The final outcome is what is important. Again, they were impressively fast, when I have had plenty of experience with contractors who have moved on to the next job and seem to take forever to finish up punch list items. I would hire them again, particularly for an urgent repair issue. They were RELIABLE and responsive.

I was first impressed by the consultation process. I got three quotes from three different companies, and Mr. Contractor was the most informative, reasonably priced, and offered the best solution for my falling tiles and deteriorating walls. The contractor took time to give me a thorough understanding of how he would solve the problem, and he offered the best solution. When it came time for the repair, Mr. Contractor was prompt and accommodating. The work was done in a day, and the outcome is phenomenal. Additionally, they threw in a new tub faucet, shower head, and drywall repairs in the area above my tub.

There aren't enough positive words to describe my experience. We had some problems around the house that needed fixed, but also wanted someone to assess the current status and provide advice on upkeep... so we can fix things before they keep becoming problems. We worked with Ken Spector as project manager and his team. Ken was so helpful, never pushy, but yet offering advice. From the initial walk through and estimate to the finished projects and touch-ups, everyone we interacted with was kind, professional, highly skilled, and respectable. They were even quiet, which was an added bonus since my boyfriend works from home. I had two subsequent issues in the area they worked and connected to repairs, but not direct repairs they did. It was the timing of the new issues and the relatedness that made me suspect they were related to the repairs, but of course I had no proof and it could have been coincidence. I called Ken with my concerns. Ken called me back immediately, and came to assess and fixed the problem within about 24 hours, even though we had already paid for the project. He never tried to shift blame or shirk responsibility. And he did not charge me for the repairs. That is truly the sign of a respectable company with good customer service and work ethic. My highest recommendation possible goes to the entire company for creating and maintaining a company culture that serves its customers with skill and a smile, and inspires a sense of pride and ownership in the tradesmen. The beautiful skill of the repairs and the professional finished product really shows respected, motivated, happy employees.

I started the project working with Kenny and Steve. They were very attentive to my needs and answered any questions I had about products or the project in general. When the project started the team from Mr. Contractor was on time and cleaned up daily in the areas they were working on. They worked efficiently and finished a day earlier than expected. It was a pleasure working with the Mr. Contractor team... I would highly recommend them and I would definitely use them for my next project!

We were very pleased with the professionalism of Mr. Contractor. The level of customer service was higher than any other contractor we had worked with in the past. We worked with Barry who was reliable and communicative. His guys came on time, did high quality work and cleaned up after themselves. I highly recommend them!

Mr. Contractor installed doors for my mother and she thanks Mr. Spector and his team for the professional job well done installing all six doors. They also did a great job on some cement work that was done in the basement and the installation of a pipe drain. She would hire them again.

Around 2 years ago we had water damage our home due to a roof leak under our deck. We contracted Bella Brothers Construction to remove the old deck, put on a new roof, and then put on a new deck. So 6 months ago, the roof leaks in the exact same spot! Tom from Bella Brothers sent someone to take a look, applied a little muck, and said he wouldn't do anything else. He said that even though his company had just put on a new roof, that they weren't responsible. He actually eventually threatened me over a series of emails!!! Needing to get his poor work rectified quickly I contracted with Ken from Mr. Contractor. They had to remove some deck boards, repair a few areas of the roof and fix the blatant poor work of Bella Brothers. He was fairly shocked at how poor their work was. Ken and his crew were very professional and responsive in all aspects the job. The work was done quickly and efficiently in a few days. And luckily they were able to save the deck. The water penetrated through both floor underneath the deck, but after their repairs, you cannot tell a difference from before the damage and it looks great. And the best part - no more water leaking through! Save yourself the hassle of dealing with the scum at Bella Brothers and deal with Mr. Contractor. I couldn't be happier.

Steve is great, super responsive and accommodating and able to work flexibly around our schedules. The price was very good compared to another quote we received. His staff left our home very clean and completed the job very quickly. There was a small chip to our front steps that seemed to be caused by their equipment and Steve was very responsive to coming out to discuss it. We are satisfied with the work, but will have to do a few finishing touches ourselves like caulking between the window frame and our wall so that we can paint a smooth surface. We also expected more of the closet to be refinished (rather than just the ceiling) but we should have clarified this at the beginning. We would use Mr. Contractor again.

They were punctual, I felt like it was fair and honest pricing. No job is too small. I've used them several time. They actually refer you to other companies for thing they can't do.

Everything went great. It took roughly 2 days for them to complete their work. The guys were are all extremely nice and jovial, and they did their best to work quick, while paying attention to detail. I will certainly use them again when I upgrade next.

Steve and his team did a great job. They were fair in pricing and gave us very sensible solutions to fix the bathroom the right way. On the kitchen they truly transformed the look to be a modern style at an affordable price. We had some specifics and particular aspects of the project that Steve was always happy to take on and perform. Working with Steve's team was easy and manageable. They always showed up when they said they would, even in a snowstorm. Would definitely use the team again for a third time. They had previously built a beautiful roof deck for me.

We found Mr. Contractor through Angies?s List and were impressed with all of their great reviews. I also like that they are a local family owned and operated company since 1949. I can?t say enough good things about the team we worked with at Mr. Contractor. Barry, Joe and Reese were true professionals in renovating a bedroom in our home which turned out great. They got the project to the point where I could do the spackling, sanding and painting myself to save us some money. They also coordinated the permit, electrical work and inspections. Those additional items were handled and paid for separately. I highly recommend Mr. Contractor. Today they just installed new attic stairs which also turned out great. We will be hiring them again for a large kitchen renovation in the future.

I cannot say enough about Ken and his crew from Mr. Contractor. After meeting several contractors and making the mistake of hiring another one who was cheaper, Ken swooped in and saved our lives after the original contractor left us high and dry!! When I initially reached out to Mr. Contractor, our home was in shambles and we didn't think we would ever be able to move in. The home was in such shambles and was in a hazardous condition. Other quotes were coming in way too high. Luckily, Ken and his team promptly came out and met with us to devise a plan of action. I knew right away that they were the right fit for us - they were no honest, nonsense guys. The crew stuck to their plan the entire time and the results are AMAZING! What I really appreciated was the fact that Ken would often bring things to our attention that we might not have thought of or realized on our own until it was too late. Ken also met with us and took us to each supplier (multiple times!) so that we could see everything before purchasing which was extremely helpful as it was very hard for me to visualize what it would look like. Ken has a great eye and gives you his honest opinion. I could go on and on because I honestly cannot say enough about Mr. Contractor and would not hesitate to use them again in a second. In fact, I have already called them back for a few more things and I am compiling another list for down the road. In the world that we live in, contractors already have a bad reputation. This stereotype came true for me with my prior contractor, but Ken and EVERYONE at Mr. Contractor were literally the exact opposite. They give contractors a good name. I highly recommend them if you are looking for HONEST, hardworking, and professional contractors!!!!

Steve and his team is very professional and easy to work with! They did this renovation project for my flip-flop investment property at Philly. Since I live in NY and it takes about 3 hour to commute to this location, it was so helpful that Steve and his team were willing to make this renovation process so smooth and flawless. I only needed to travel down to PA about once a week to review the jobs that had been prefermed. Steve always made himself available over the phone to give me project updates and answer my questions. Him and his team was always on-time for their job and were willing to work around my schedule to help me to maximum my productivity when I actually travelled to Philly. Steve was also a great team player. He had a great cordination with my heating guy and provided all the supports needed. Steve is well expereienced with different customer needs. He quickly understood my renovation need and provided suitable renovation proposals. The suggestions were cost effecient and increased the house value by a great percentage. Overall, I am very happy with Mr. Contractor's service. They are very professional, easy to communicated and work with. I will definiately use them again if I ever have another renovation project in the area.

It went excellent. They were extremely professional. Ken wrote up the estimate and gave us a good price. He was true to his word. He did everything we wanted done. He gave us a 5 day turn around but the work was done with 3 days. The guys did a superb job. I would strongly recommend Mr. Contractor to anyone who is looking to have any kind of contractual service, especially a new deck. They were awesome!

Dealing with Steve from Mr. Contractor was amazing!!! I have a property which currently has tenants and he was able to provide prompt service while working around their schedules. He was very articulate about explain me to me what work needed to be done and gave me multiple options to choose from. He was able to plan the work of the project quickly to deliver results. I had a unexpected issue arise and he was able to Facetime with me to show me what was wrong and gave me multiple options to proceed forward. Steve and his team showed a high level of professionalism and did an amazing job. I would use Steve and his team again for any work that I need. Phillu

Service was as prompt as weather would allow. Mr. Spector contacted me quickly and kept me apprised of any delays. The work was completed in one day. The experience was a positive one. I can't comment on cost because I sought no other estimates, but from what I know of carpentry rates it seemed fair enough. In addition Mr. Spector indicated that if upon removing the old damaged doors he found any problem with the wood steps leading down to the cellar he would fix the problem at no additional charge. Fortunately, all was OK.

The door looks great as does the flashing and the gutter. Steve was very responsive and helpful throughout the process. All folks who worked on the projects were great. I will definitely be using Mr. Contractor again for work around the house!

I hired Mr. Contractor to do multiple repairs in our granddaughter's home. Although most of the work completed was done well, I was disappointed in the fact that we had specifically asked that they install a soap dish in the bathroom. When I spoke with the owner of the company, he advised me that the walls in the bathroom were uneven and they weren't sure if they would be able to complete the work. The provider stated that they would try. After the work was done and we noticed that the soap dish had not been installed, the owner, Barry stated that he never agreed to try. He had stated that he wasn't going to charge me to install the soap dish but he did state he would at least try. When you tell someone that you will do something, it should be at least attempted, especially with the amount of money we paid.
