Very good quality creative work. This job was a challenge because the surrounding wall was not plumb, flush, square or level. The trim was installed using shims and compensating angle cuts in a way that blended the flaws to near invisibility. Only Mr. Contractor and I will know they exist. A causal observer will not. A casual observer like, say, a home buyer.

I was extremely satisfied with the job. Lonnie and his guys were punctual, reliable, very easy to communicate with and very nice in general. They were professional and hard working. This was not an easy job due to the tight quarters. But they worked around all the tight spots and got the job done. Cleaned up nicely too. We love our new back of the house.

It is always disappointing to receive such a grade from an Angie's List review. Even more so to learn that a customer has been disappointed by our company. The customer is correct in that Barry was at their home over a month ago. Within that month emails with changes to the scope of work were sent back and forth between the customers spouse and Barry. The final changes were emailed to the customers spouse on Friday April 28th, reflecting the changes that were made. We are not sure why the customer did not receive the final estimate.A phone call to our office would have rectified the situation immediately.Since the posting of this review {which is the first we have heard they did not receive our estimate} we have reached out to the customers spouse, [we only have her as a contact] and re-sent his estimate. We do try to keep as much communication open with our customers as possible, sometimes an email isn't the most direct way of contact, and we believe a simple call stating they didn't receive the email would have been corrected immediately, instead the customer opted for an "F" review on Angie's List.

We are very satisfied with the work that was performed by Mr. Contractor. From the very beginning of the project they understood the design and function we were looking for. Kenny did an excellent job with communicating, following up and checking in throughout the process. When the workers arrived to perform the work, they were friendly and respectful of our home, they even went above and beyond checking in with the design and making minor changes that improved the functionally of our new door. They completed the work ahead of schedule having completed the framing and hanging of a barn style door in one day. They quickly returned the next morning to complete the final coat for the dry wall patching. Overall Mr. Contractor were professional, affordable and reliable and I would use them again for future home improvement projects.

I first came in touch with Ken less than a week out from becoming a new homeowner in South Philly. I'm from the midwest and had zero connections/referrals in the city. I had two leaking windows and a whole wall of rotted wood from chronic water leakage. It was a $4000 job that I wasn't expecting, and was pretty dejected about it all. Ken and his guys did a great job with the work (and quickly diagnosed the problem to begin with). This time .... Excellent. Better than I expected - I had worked with Ken before (see above) and had high expectations based on the prior work. The most impressive aspects to me are their professionalism, communication and punctuality - from everyone. Not just Ken, but also the guys who did all the work. Just good guys, experts at remodeling, and who have your back when it comes to your project. They certainly don't cut corners and in fact did more work that what was asked of them/what was quoted. Highly recommended. Will consult them in the future for more work on the house and kitchen.

It was pouring rain when Ken came over to my house to give me my quote. I have an 82sqft bathroom and wanted a quote to knock down the walls that enclosed my toilet and switch it with the shower. I wanted to make a double shower and install a double vanity. I also wanted to install subway tiles at waist height around the bathroom walls and in the shower. I knew it may be slightly more difficult since the toilet needs to be near a vent, so additional piping will need to be installed. Ken quoted me $45k to do the job which is significantly more expensive than any quote I have ever gotten. I was extremely shocked especially I have seen some positive reviews on this site where clients had their whole entire house remodeled for $80k. I immediately knew I wasn’t going to be able to afford ken to do the bathroom, so I considered having him give me a quote for a leaking window in the kitchen. For the window, he quoted me $2k which was also several times higher than other quotes I have received. I heard from other contractor that over quoting is a technique they do if the contractor doesn’t really want to work for a certain person or project.

Response from Mr. Contractor Inc
It is always unfortunate to find a bad complaint left on Angie's List from a prospective customer of ours. We care deeply about our reputation but most importantly; we care about making our customers happy. Yet again we find ourselves in a position to comment on a review for an estimate we provided. We want to thank our prospective customer for commenting that we appeared when it was pouring rain. This demonstrates that the weather did not stand in the way of making our scheduled appointment. We also want to thank the customer for pointing out that he, "has seen some positive reviews on this website" about our company. However, we whole-heartedly disagree with his assessments of price. The customer was in a great rush to have me come out and provide an estimate for work to be done in his bathroom. He was very persistent and called our company (3) times to see if I can come sooner than what was scheduled and despite the inclement weather. The review states that Ken over quoted the customer for this job because he didn't want to do the work or to personally deal with the customer. This was not the case. When Ken arrived at the house, he was informed by the customer that the reason the time of the meeting was changed was to accommodate another (third) contractor providing an estimate. Ken was told that first contractor who already earlier had provided a price of $8,000. The customer also told Ken several times that his bathroom was fine but that his girlfriend was pushing him to have work done to it. This to us is a flag and that the customer was not serious about the project. The scope of the work being asked by the customer is being significantly downplayed. The customer wanted a lot of bathroom work to be done, which included using an electrician, plumber, carpenter, and tile setter. The client wanted to move a toilet to a different side of the bathroom. He wanted to remove the current shower - which was too small for him - and create a shower approximately 6ft wide by 4ft deep to accommodate 2 to 3 people. He also wanted to replace the current single bowl vanity with a dual bowl vanity. Also, he wanted to remove the existing flooring and install tiles to the floor, part way up on the walls, and complete shower area. Finally, he wanted lighting to this new shower area to be installed. With all the work taken into consideration, Ken actually quoted the job $5,000 less than it would normally cost. We are confused as to the comment the customer makes regarding, "clients had their whole entire house remodeled for $80k". To compare different scopes of work is like comparing apples to oranges. Prices vary due to different type of work, types of material, and issues that arise during the scope of work. We have done bathroom remodels for as little as $10,000 and as high as $100,000. Despite the customer supposedly being turned off by our shocking price, he continues to say "so I considered having him give me a quote for a leaking window in the kitchen." This seems to go against his opinion about us. The customer goes on to write that the $2,000 estimate for a window as too high. However, he fails to mention that he wanted to replace a leaking garden window. A leaking window usually has damaged wood that needs to be replaced. Also, the type of replacement window he wanted was a vinyl double hung window (approx. 2'x3'). This was not considered a standard window install. After verbally giving him a price for this replacement window he told Ken, "wow that is really good, I will be giving you a call back to have you do the window". With respect to pricing - we do not claim to be the cheapest, nor are we the most expensive. Mr. Contractor is competitive with its pricing while also finding ways to work within our customers budget to bring unparalleled services. We cannot understand why someone would waste a contractors time when they clearly are not prepared to spend the money to undergo such a project. We would have been more than happy to offer advice for narrowing the scope of work towards a realistic budget. No licensed and insured contractor using permits and a licensed plumber and licensed electrician would be able to do this project for $8,000 the customer states he was originally quoted. Also, why would you bash us on Angie's List and provide such a negative review based on a price for work that you didn't have us do? This is not consistent with the tone and attitude of the talks Ken had with the prospective customer. Mr. Contractor has been around since 1949. For 68 years we have serviced more than 55,000 clients in the Philadelphia and Bucks County areas while earning a solid reputation. As a result, we have been consistently named "Top 500 Remodelers in the Country" for more than a decade. We have also been awarded "Best of Philly 2012 and 2007", "Angie's List Super Service Award 2016, 2015, and 2009", and "Angie's List Honor Roll 2012". In 2011 we were featured on the Rachael Ray Show for creating a community garden in Philadelphia (corner of Wharton Street and East Passyunk Avenue at 9th Street). We do not claim to be the best, but our customers do!
We had ripped out carpet and flooring in our house and refinished the original flooring underneath. But the baseboards had been installed at the height of the old carpet, so there were huge gaps between the bottom of the baseboard and the floor. At first we wanted to try to close the gap between the baseboards and the floor with base caps, because quarter round pieces were too small. Barry came out to give an estimate and while he appreciated what we were trying to do (find a solution while avoiding reinstalling baseboards everywhere), he evaluated the situation thoughtfully and said the base caps were going to crack throughout installation if we tried to nail them as shoe molding. The only way to go was to replace all the baseboard and reinstall everything. We went for it and Barry was helpful all the way through. He oversaw the job and checked in with us almost every day. The workers didn't sweep up after themselves as much as I would have hoped but other than that no complaints. We had to move into the house right in the middle of the job and they were super accommodating -- after we'd moved in they did all the sawing outside so as not to make a mess. One of the corners of the drywall gave in where they were nailing the baseboards in and they fixed it right away. We also asked them to rehang a few sliding closet doors and they did their best to make that work, even with the crappy quality doors we had (the existing doors -- we should have just replaced them). In the end Barry wasn't satisfied with how that part of the job came out and he knocked $100 off our total. Would definitely use Mr. Contractor again. They were a little pricier than other estimates we got but they were honest, fast and did the job right.
Description of Work: We needed to have the baseboards replaced in our entire 4-bedroom rowhouse.

Amazing. Not only were they on time, super polite, and clean, but they dealt with me being a little difficult. They placed LED lights, because I think most people like those, but I am not most people. Lonny drove to some hardware shop in Jersey just to find the right baffles for my lights (which I found in my basement and he used to save me money) and they came right back after they thought they were all done and replaced them for me at no extra charge. I cannot recommend them highly enough!

Barry came in to my home looked at what I wanted to him to do. Extremely pushy and. Very over priced . Starting jotting down numbers instead of taking the estimate back with him and doing it on a computer for the estimates he was giving us figures out of his head. Very unprofessional. One second it was this price next sec it was another ,, don't ever recommend them for anyone . One more thing he continued to call my house asking if we made our decision yet. After I told him. No

We understand that a solid reputation is key to success. We appreciate all feedback we get - negative or positive. We strive to improve in areas that will result in customer satisfaction. But sometimes we fall short of our goal. Every so often we come across customers that reminds us why we need to work even harder to make a good impression. However, this was not the case with this customer. This review is not an accurate portrayal of the events that occurred. This is purely fabricated and simply untrue. On February 22nd the customer called our office to have an estimator come out to her home and provide an estimate for work needed. Our office manager, Jennie, gathered her information and told her that a sales advisor would get back to her within 24 hours to schedule an appointment. As described to Jennie, the customer was looking for drop ceiling repairs, joist issues, and window replacements. Barry, her sales advisory and co-owner, came to her home as scheduled. What was supposed to be a few issues ballooned into many necessary repairs and desired renovations. Barry did not try to solicit more work. The customer was having a mice problem in her house and saw evidence throughout her drop ceiling in the living room, dinning room, kitchen, and parts of the second floor. She wanted Barry to remove and replace the ceiling with sheetrock and wanted steel wool / cement to be packed into the joists, along with insulation. The customer also wanted exterior work to be done that included removing a wall air conditioner, aluminum awnings, applying stucco, and installing a rubber roof in one section. The customer also added the installation of a metal security door, the partial remodel of a 2nd floor bathroom, and the complete renovation of her kitchen Despite the magnitude of the work, Barry took notes and told the customer he would send her an estimate once he got back to the office, made some inquiries, and was able to have it typed up on company stationary. The customer was pushy and asked several times for a price range. Barry replied that he doesn't give estimates on the spot for projects of this size. But after many requests, Barry replied that he thinks this project would be around $30,000 - but needed to sharpen his numbers and make some calls. On February 24th, Barry had Jennie type up his notes to provide the customer with an estimate. We did not have the customer'[Member Information Removed] email address and she did not own a fax machine. Jennie attempted to call the customer on 2/24, 2/28, 3/2, 3/6, 3/9 and 3/13 and left voicemails each and every time regarding the need for an email address. When we still had not heard back we assumed the customer was no longer interested. Instead, on 3/23 the customer writes this negative review. On 3/24 Barry tried to call the customer to discuss the negative review. However, the husband answered the phone and said, "I have to speak to my wife, I have no idea why she would write this review" and then hung up the phone on Barry. A picture is being painted that is inconsistent of the work we do at Mr. Contractor or the daily interactions that our sales team has with customers. We are in business as a result of our good reputation and great interactions with customers. Over the years Mr. Contractor has been presented with many awards and letters of high praise. In fact, we just won Angies'[Member Information Removed] List Super Service Award for 2016 - our 3rd time winning since being a member. We would like to make every customer happy each and every time.
After having a few contractors come to my 200+ year old house, I knew that Ken had the right experience and attention to detail that I required. At the initial visit we did a walk through where he gave me confidence that he had the knowledge to put forth my vision of moving my kitchen to the formal dining room and putting in a powder laundry room on the first floor. Coming from NYC and having done extensive renovation before, I understand that Ken is unique in his ability to project management multiple functional teams (note: Mr Contractor has SKILLED professionals you are not just getting two guys who do everything with mediocrity). He is quick to follow up and take care of any questions I had via text email etc. I was out of town for a majority of the work and he sent me photos all the time and called me with any questions. The work got done incredibly fast. There were very few additional costs outside of the original scope mostly for unforeseen electrical and plumbing issues (note:very old house), and I will add to that that once I saw the great job they were doing I did request additional projects. They also rewired the electrical boxes (I had 3) to one that is now up to code as well as a new gas line. Third floor bathroom was also done and I can say that the tile looks great. Last but not least, they put on a 12x12 roofdeck in two days including inspection! The teams he has are friendly and respectful and a nice group of guys. Ken has a great cabinet connection as well as countertops and shower glass. They were sure to cleanup each day and Ken followed up after all was done to ensure I was completely happy. Would recommend to ANYONE who wants a contractor who gets how things should be done and how people should be treated.

Ken Spector handled replacing my 4 master bath Casement windows (one half moon, 2 fixed and one 8 ft. X 4 ft., fixed panel window), the windows all look beautiful, we ordered them from Anderson and Mr. Ken handled scheduling delivery and installation of the windows, his crew arrive sharp at 7:00 A.M., they went directly to work, very professional and clean, they cut window packing outside the house so no dust is released inside, for the 8’ x 4’ picture window Mr. Ken even gave a choice between one big glass panel or 2 fixed panels with middle post ( I chose the latter), Mr. Ken is a nice gentleman, willing to work with you and accommodate your requirement and concern.

My initial contact with the company was very good. The person who answered the phone phone was polite and professional. I was able to get an appointment relatively quick. The gentlemen that came to my home was professional and seemed very knowledgeable about his craft and gave me some ideas about how to remodel my kitchen. He answered all of my questions and I was very impressed by the Angie's list reviews as well as the pictures and information on the contractor's website. At the end of the appointment he said he would provide me with an estimate within 7-10 business days. I was looking forward to getting more detailed information. Unfortunately, I never received the estimate from the contractor. I did not follow-up. Since I am the customer, I now make it a habit not to follow-up with contractors in this situation.

We appreciate all feedback we get - negative or positive. We strive to improve in areas that will result in customer satisfaction. This review points out the overall good experience from start to finish in arranging a consultation. From the first call to our office manager, Jennie (who was both polite and professional on the phone) to the ease of making an appointment (and quickness) in getting a sales advisor to visit on an agreed upon date. The sales advisor, Ken (who was both knowledgeable and professional) provided many ideas about the kitchen remodel. However our mistake was not following up with the client after our meeting. This was an accidental oversight. After reading this review, Ken looked back at his notes and saw he in fact had a price written down. This prompted us to call to the customer today. We were informed that this written price was never actually provided and that we were closed for the holidays soon after. This is not typical where we do not provide a price the same day or within the next few days. We are in business as a result of our good reputation and great interactions with customers. We will work harder to not have this happen again. The customer is still in the process of gathering estimates from various contractors. If she has any interest in having us come back out to provide her an estimate - please give us call.
In the end, the owner had to get involved just to get the bare minimum of services that were discussed. This was because the person I originally dealt with, the owner's son Steve, had made threats to vandalize my property and to put a lien on my home if I didn't pay him for services that had not been completed. If you're considering hiring this vendor, please read: I contracted this company because I was told that the job could be completed before a strict deadline by Steve. After the initial visit, Steve asked me to call him on several occasions to schedule - and I felt like I had to hunt him down to get responses. When I did reach him, I told him I needed to swap a service out for painting 2 areas. The day before work was supposed to begin, he TEXTED that he could only do the work AFTER my deadline. When I responded, obviously not happy, he said "Listen if you want to play games I will give your money back in a heartbeat." This after he tried to pass a $150 charge off from ANOTHER customer...and then acted like he was doing me a favor for waiving it. On any other occasion, that would have turned me off as a client - so unprofessional. But he (begrudgingly) said he would send someone in the morning for 3 hours. Mind you, he quoted me a "day rate" - but honestly, if the services were done...no problem. Right on time, someone arrived to take care of the work. He seemed rushed...and after an hour and a half, he left because "the work was done." So I called Steve. He laughed about it and said that's how day rates work and tried to equate it to my business. I explained that the services had not been completed. He said if I didn't pay, he'd send someone to "rip out all the f***ing work we just did" and then texted a threat to put a lien on my property. Mind you, he was charging me 1200 for 90 minutes of work and no paint. I tried to text photos of the work not finished, only to discover that after threatening me, he blocked my phone number. So I called his office to leave a message that I'd be happy to pay for services when they are completed. When I shared what happened, they were horrified. The owner/Steve's father spoke with me, he said he would send someone out as "that isn't how they do business." Sure enough, the next morning the same person was out to paint. After he left, the owner called and asked how it went. I responded that it was a little sloppy and you could still see the color underneath. He just said "great" and then they collected my money. Was too tired to argue, but spent most of today painting another coat and fixing some of the work that was just sloppy. Had the services actually turned out to be well done...I would have given this company a better overall rating. But between unprofessional behavior, threats, and moderate quality work...I can't justify giving this company anything above an F, despite the apologies and effort made.

Response from Mr. Contractor Inc
Our goal is to finish a project to the satisfaction of our customers and have them return for future work. We understand that a solid reputation is key to success. But sometimes we fall short of our goal. Every so often we come across customers that reminds us why we need to work even harder to make a good impression. Miscommunication, budgetary concerns, and varied expectations can derail the path to complete satisfaction. Let me be clear, we do not agree with everything being stated by the customer. Although we could go about explaining in detail our reasoning, we will be brief in this response. Nevertheless it is clear we need to work harder in making sure our customers are happy - even the most difficult customers. It would seem that we only scored an "A" in punctuality. Although we pride our selves on being on time, we feel that this customer was unfair in their assessment on price, quality, responsiveness, and professionalism. But this also brings to light several inconsistencies in this review. If we got an "A" in punctuality, how do we miss a strict deadline and be difficult to reach by phone to schedule? The customer goes on to say how he immediately had a bad interaction with his sales advisor, and that despite the sales adviser offering him his deposit back and to cancel the contract - the customer still wanted to proceed in having Mr. Contractor do his work. We would hope that someone who is not happy with a company would not go and hire the same company to do work. We would never want to work for someone that we upset since this lays the foundation for a bad experience. Plus, Philadelphia is filled with capable contractors or handymen that could have done this type of work. For whatever reason, the customer and sales advisor were not a good fit. The customer expected something different than what was conveyed to the sales advisor. There was a signed contract that listed the scope of work. We were paid in full once the work was completed to the customer's satisfaction. But now the customer now has a different recollection of the events that transpired. There has never been a threat of vandalism on this customer's property. This is something not consistent with the behavior of our sales advisors and contrary to the 200+ reviews posted on Angie's List. First the customer questioned the time it took to complete the work; we finished too fast according to the customer. Next the customer made changes to the agreed upon scope of work on the day our carpenter was at his house; he didn't want us to install a door but instead do painting. This is when the problems began. The customer converted a specific list/scope of work into a full-day handyman special. He formed the opinion that since we assumed his work would take a day of time to complete with our carpenter, that this meant for the entire day he would ask our carpenter to do various odds and ends. The customer was prepping his house for sale and apparently had a list of items that needed to be repaired. After we completed the agreed upon work in less than a full day, the customer then wanted more work to be done. When we didn't agree to his assessment of work, the customer threatened not to pay the balance. Never was their use of bad language in any text or phone conversation with the customer. We would not engage in such behavior nor see the need. This is a business and we do not take critical reviews personally. We aim to resolve all issues in a professional and expeditious manner. When a customer does not want to pay their balance we have protocols set in place with our back office team, which include collections and possible liens. As far as the allegations that we blocked his phone number, that is just silly. After the customer got in touch with one of the co-owners, by calling the office phone number, his concerns were immediately addressed. According to this review, despite sending a carpenter to put more time into the job to make the customer happy - the customer was not satisfied. But in reality the customer called the co-owner after the work was complete to express that he was pleased with the resolution. Furthermore, the customer even provided the final payment and thanked us for addressing his concerns. We have to ask, why would the customer sign off on the work being to his satisfaction and provide a final payment if he was still very unhappy? A picture is being painted that is inconsistent of the work we do at Mr. Contractor or the daily interactions that our sales team has with customers. We are in business as a result of our good reputation and great interactions with customers. Over the years Mr. Contractor has been presented with many awards and letters of high praise. In fact, we just won Angies's List Super Service Award for 2016 - our 3rd time winning since being a member. We would like to make every customer happy each and every time.

It was done within the time frame and the condo was left clean. We are having a small issue with a couple of chips, but Steve Spector has been more than attentive to it.
Description of Work: We had our kitchen updated with new cabinets and counter. A pantry was added and it has enhanced the kithen and storage space.

Ken and all the guys at Mr. Contractor have restored my faith in humanity. After a negative experience with a contractor I was very cautious of wanting to hire another group. However from day 1 there was no hesitation as Ken was able to reassure the quality of work and share plenty of references and photos of work previously done. Mr contractor is definition of a pleasant experience. There was no deviation of the allotted week contract to complete work. As my last experience was a true nightmare I csn truly speak on the incredible attention to detail these guys brought each day. They are extremely respectful of your time and if they say they'll be there at a specific time, they'll be there. And when they show up its to work! They would lay sheets and cardboard down in high traffic areas and even take there shoes off in the bad weather. They cleaned up there workspace each day dust pan and brush or even a vacuum. They never were intrusive and all very polite. I don't think any of these guys smoked so they don't take smoke breaks. From the minute they show up they get down to business. If they forget or need a tool or material they have many counterparts who drop off what's needed so they never have to stop working. They gave plenty of personal suggestions and open communication which allowed smooth understanding of end result. Each aspect was closely reviewed by the team allowing me to let my guard down. The tile guy IS AMAZING, I'm not sure if he even ate but it was precision at its finest. I'm not a contractor or any much of construction guy but these guys did it right. Before leaving and accepting final payment they tried everything out and made sure I had no other questions or concerns. There is no doubt I would hire these guys again. I've even talked to Ken about hiring the team for other jobs during this job. The price may have been a little higher than some other quotes but you truly get what you pay for and again I'd do it all over again. I used his recommendations on where to purchase tile BELL TILE NORTHRN LIBERTIES. Joe was a great guy. The glass shower guys MICHAELS glass showed up hours after I called and measured out my custom door. A++++++++++ I'd gladly verbally share my pleasant experience with any of those who have questions.

Very well. Steve Spector evaluated and appraised the work required. Steve also provided very helpful suggestions for possible alternatives. Steve provided three different options and helped establish the pros & cons for each design alternative. The work was done professionally and the project was completed on time. The costs were right on the button and there were no surprises. Mr. Contractor would be an excellent choice for anyone needing work on their house. I could not be happier with the results. High marks to Steve and the entire crew, from the office staff to the Master Carpenter and his crew. Mr. Contractor hits the trifecta: Integrity, reliability and excellent quality work.

Excellent! Ken explained the whole process, timetable and introduced us to "the team of pros" before beginning work. They skillfully removed the wall and flawlessly patched and matched the woodwork, hardwood floors and ceilings. AWESOME JOB! This group takes great pride in their work and truly cares about their client.

Called Mr Contractor for a quote on a simple bathroom remodel, needed a shower installed with some plumbing and electrical work. A man named Barry came and was unable to give me a quote on the spot, he said he needed to go over it in the office. The next day he texted me a quote that was 4x bigger than his competition for the exact same work. When I asked him to justify or itemize the price he ceased all contact with me. Super unprofessional to ignore reasonable questions and also to quote a price so far out of market. I would NOT recommend this contractor.

Response from Mr. Contractor Inc
It is always unfortunate to find a bad complaint left on Angie's List from a prospective customer of ours. We care deeply about our reputation but most importantly; we care about making our customers happy. Once again we find ourselves in a position to comment on a review of work that we provided an estimate for. We want to thank our prospective customer for commenting on our punctuality. This is a very important category when taking into consideration selecting the right contractor to do your work. However, we whole-heartedly disagree with his assessments of price, responsiveness, and professionalism. We do not always give a quote on the spot. It depends on the nature of the work and if we need to involve sub-contractors and the extent of the material. In this particular case, we provided a round-about number in which the prospective customer then asked for a more in-depth breakdown. For the record, the client asked for (2) quotes for work to be done; 1) drawings/permits so that a door can be installed on the third level rear along with a platform and iron set of stairs and 2) drawings/permits so that a shower can be added to the bathroom in the basement along with a new vanity and relocation of electrical. Since the client expressed an urgency to have it right away, so we accommodated by sending a text describing the work - as per the request of the prospective customer. The prospective customers response was "Hi Barry - thanks for meeting with me! So to be honest the bathroom quote is about 4x higher than others I have received. I understand you guys are high quality and well reviewed so I'm going to keep you in the running if you can itemize that quite for me and work with me on the all-in price. What would help bring it down? Thanks". With respect to pricing - we do not claim to be the cheapest, nor are we the most expensive. Mr. Contractor is competitive with its pricing while also finding ways to work within our customers budget to bring unparalleled services. However, we find it hard to believe that the customer found a price of under $3,500 to do the work as described in the bathroom. No licensed and insured contractor using permits and a licensed plumber would be able to do that project at the price the customer states. Also, to bash us on Angie's List and provide such a negative review based on a price that the prospective customer was unhappy with? This is not consistent with the tone and attitude of the talks and texts we had with the prospective customer. We did our part and the customer was pleased with our punctual response and wanted to negotiate the price and keep us in "the running" as they looked over other estimates. So we are surprised by all that has since transpired to result in this. Mr. Contractor has been around since 1949. For 64 years we have serviced more than 55,000 clients in the Philadelphia and Bucks County areas while earning a solid reputation. As a result, we have been consistently named "Top 500 Remodelers in the Country" for more than a decade. Mr. Contractor has been ranked by Philadelphia Business Journal (Book of Lists) for being in the top 50 for "family-owned businesses" in 2013 and 2014. We have maintained an A+ rating at the Better Business Bureau for over 30 years. We have also been awarded "Best of Philly 2012 and 2007", "Angie's List Super Service Award 2015 and 2009", and "Angie's List Honor Roll 2012". In 2011 we were featured on the Rachael Ray Show for creating a community garden in Philadelphia (corner of Wharton Street and East Passyunk Avenue at 9th Street). We do not claim to be the best, but our customers do!

I am sure that this company is good at what it does but accountability is not one of them. I understand that appointments have to reschedule and I was accommodating but when I call and you say you are going to be somewhere at a certain time and you said this isn't going to work out. That's not professional at all. I made myself available for 3 appointments and that's how this company handled it. Just horrible.
Description of Work: Multiple products that I wanted quotes on.
