I live in an older home and water was starting to back up and leak in the basement. I called John first thing the next morning and he was able to come over right away. He first suspected the problem was outside with a vent being blocked with the record amounts of snow we just received. He found that the pipe there was clogged and was able to clear it out. After that he was able to clear out the pipes in the house too. The whole process took quite a while but he was very courteous and professional and I feel as if I got a good price for the amount of work that was done. I would definitely recommend.

The person who came did an excellent job and he came the next day itself to work. It went very well. I will hire him again if needed.

With their gutting of our powder room: their suggested moving of the water pipe and choice of a pedestal sink significantly maximized available space in a room which was pretty cramped. In addition, Jim McGillian handcrafted wainscoting, which resulted in a classic modern look. And the size and positioning of the tile really finished off the room. In the Master bath, they completely revamped a 1950's style bathroom, removing the dated wall tiles and replaced the shower with a clear-glass enclosure. They changed the lighting and added an exhaust fan, and their suggestions for the type of sink and vanity greatly improved the appearance The 2nd floor bathroom had been a challenge from the day we moved it. The tub drained extremely slowly, in spite of efforts of 3 different local plumbers. M & D fixed the problem. The bathroom had a "popcorn" ceiling, which they removed and finished off beautifully. The previous owner had pipes replaced, and the resultant patchwork wasn't very good. M & D cleaned it up to look like new. And they did an excellent job of matching contemporary fittings (shower head, faucets, and handles) to older equipment.

We had just purchased a house and, on a Saturday afternoon, were painting and cleaning up when we noticed that the main waste pipe had broken. We had no internet or phone book but luckily we found M&D in the local community paper. Even though it was quickly becoming Saturday evening, Jimmy came by, gave us an estimate (for the pipe and to find and fix the gas leak) and fixed the pipe that night. He came back a few days later and repaired the gas leak. Even with the late call and return visit he stuck to his quote. We had him back to redo our main bathroom, he stayed on time and delivered a great product.

They arrived on time, laid tarps to protect the rooms they had to pass through, got right to work and were done before lunch the next day leaving the place cleaner than when they got there. They were pleasant and easy to deal with and were very good about making sure I was clear on everything they were doing.
