Description of Work: Removed concrete curb and pavers for plumbers access, then cast new curb and sidewalk.

Description of Work: I am writing as a homeowner in the area who has considered the services of the contractor. This afternoon at approximately 2:00, my husband was walking by a house at the corner of 7th and Wharton being renovated by the contractor. Two middle aged men were in front of the house painting. As he walked by, one of the men muttered under his breath: "Godzilla is coming. You must flee the city". At first, my husband was unwilling to believe that someone would make such a comment. We are of Asian descent and have experienced racial prejudice. Nonetheless, it seemed shocking that someone would make such a comment, especially while working in a neighborhood with a large percentage of Asian and other races. Just to make sure he hadn't imagined the whole thing, he walked back down the street a half hour later, only to hear one of the men making a "Ching Chong" comment when he thought my husband was out of earshot. We feel that it is disrespectful and irresponsible for a contractor to come into a neighborhood and exhibit such rudeness to the people who live there. Doing so also doesn't make any business sense-- why would any contractor want to alienate themselves from any customer, Asian American or otherwise? We hope that the contractor will discipline his staff and seek to hire workers who are more respectful to the communities where they work. Until then, we would advise any potential customers to take their business elsewhere. UPDATE: This afternoon, my husband spoke to Mark Leuzzi, the owner of the company. Mr. Leuzzi was sincerely sorry and apologized for the behavior of his workers. According to Mr. Leuzzi, the worker who made the racist comments to him was not one of his regular employees. Instead, he was someone that was hired for the day to do some painting. Mr. Leuzzi promised to speak to his staff on Monday (July 21, 2014) and fire the employee who made the racist comments. My husband told him he would follow up with him on Monday.
