I can't say enough good things about Malcolm. He is a consummate professional. My husband and I were purchasing our first home and didn't have the first clue what we were doing, but Malcolm walked us through each step of the process, looking out for our best interests the entire time. Even though our home budget is probably on the lower end of what he usually works with, he never once made us feel like we were any less important than any of his other clients purchasing more expensive homes. His vast experience and knowledge is priceless in my opinion. His attention to detail is amazing. We feel completely confident in the fact that we got the absolute best deal we could on our house and the things that needed to be taken care of were done professionally and up to the highest standards. As first-time homebuyers, my wife and I spent quite a bit of time interviewing various real estate agents, but we never felt completely comfortable with any of them. He has 40 years of experience as a real estate agent and is very committed to the idea that it is in one's best interest to have an agent that only represents buyers. After working with him, we couldn't agree more. It was like night and day compared to other agents. One thing that originally gave us pause was that he does require a retainer, but which is completely refundable if you buy a house. In a way, this makes total sense: Since he only represents buyers and doesn't make any money from listings, he does not want to work with "tire-kickers." So you should only contact him and pay the retainer if you are truly serious about buying a house. Once my wife and I found a property that we wanted, he was there looking after our interests 100%. He did a great job negotiating down the asking price (which was fairly reasonable to start with) another 7%, which was amazing since we were up against a very tough, very experienced seller's agent. Mr. Antell was meticulous about handling each step of the negotiations and each stage of the transaction. He referred us to a top notch home inspector and some great mortgage sources and helped us to save a lot of money. We felt very comfortable with him, trusted him completely, and his advice was right on each time. The closing was super-smooth, and as he promised, he refunded the full retainer by having it taken out of his commission at closing. Malcolm is a class act, and my wife and I recommend him without reservations.
