When the Jains were my landlord, they would make fake invoices from the Philadelphia Water Department and charge me on a monthly basis without actual documentation from PWD. There are no individual meters on the unit, so their allocation was not based on any sound reasoning. Even after I paid their fake invoices by direct deposit into their bank accounts, they would lose record of my payment and attempt to charge late fees. I set up an automatic, direct deposit payment for my rent, so my rent was paid promptly each month. Even then, the Jains would lose track of payment and attempt to charge me late fees. I consistently had to send them copies of my canceled checks. While I lived in the apartment, there was a rat infestation that they did nothing about and told none of the tenants about. They never checked the fire alarms. They rarely, if ever, responded to maintenance requests and even then, it would take MONTHS and multiple requests. For example my heater stopped working in 14 degree Fahrenheit weather. When I requested it be fixed, I was told I should have signed up for the PECO parts & labor service plan, that I would have to email maintenance, and that I would have to wait for someone to return to Philadelphia because everyone of their maintenance crew was out of town. After moving out, they decided to keep $200 of my security deposit for fake fees they cited as "City of Philadelphia Trash removal fees" for two years. They never asked me for and money in three years I had lived there and they never provided an invoice from Philadelphia Sanitary Division. The Jains are low-life, uneducated, unethical, stupid stupid people. They repulse me and I strongly urge everyone to not do any kind of business with them ever.
