He agreed to stop by on a Monday. I said, great because I work from home on Mondays and Wednesday (during the day). He never came by. He called about 6:45 p.m. which to me is not still considered daytime. I wasn't home! I called later that evening and he promised to stop by at 9:30 a.m. on Wednesday. On Wednesday, at 9:50 a.m. I called and he wasn't aware of the time. He said he'd be right over. And he was there in 10 minutes. One of the reasons I wanted to contract with him is because he's in the neighborhood. He gave me a price which I thought was a little high but I was willing to pay it because of the good reports I read about on Angie's list. Plus, it had been raining a lot so the grass and weeds were higher than usual this time of year (early Spring). I really needed the work done asap. We were scheduled for more rain so he said he'd do the work the following week. He never showed up! Since we had more rain, I waited a few more days before calling again. Now it's two weeks later (from our original meeting) and there had been several rain free days. When I called again to see if he'd forgotten about the work, he had me mixed up with another customer and said he would be by later that day. When I gave him my address he then said, he wasn't coming that day. He said it had been raining and he was backed-up. But said he'd do the work the next day. Silly me - I believed him. He still hasn't shown up or called. I wanted so badly to use this guy but he's unreliable. The work still needs to get done so I am looking elsewhere. I can't be bothered with someone so unprofessional --rain or no rain. I have been very very patient but Mr. Martin didn't have the courtesy or professionalism to call me.

After receiving a ridiculously high estimate from another landscaping company listed on Angie's List, Larry Martin came out, gave me an incredibly fair price (his fee was actually $275, but I felt that he more than deserved the extra $100!!) and then proceeded to transform my yard and plantings. After describing to Larry what I wanted done, he clearly had some other ideas. I asked him to take care of whatever he felt was in need of work. WOW!!! My yard NEVER looked this good and I've lived here for 18 years!! Not only did Larry and his helper, Ralph, work like fiends, but there was great attention to detail and a clear eye for what's attractive and natural looking. Not only that, but the other company from whom I received an estimate wanted to spray industrial strength weed killer in my yard! Larry's approach was totally natural, good for the environment and efficient. There will be maintenance involved over time, but I won't have contributed to poisoning the environment! Clean up after all of the work was completed was also excellent and thorough.

It took him several attempts to come give me an estimate, which I never got. When I followed up with him, he said he would come by and cut my grass, and never showed. Totally flaked on me.

He is SO accommodating and so personable. There is no way I would hire him because of the distance-I think he would lose money on my job, but I was very impressed.

This contractor really knows a lot about lawn care. I trust him and know that I can always rely on him for any yard work I need. He's very dependable and always shows up on time. I think my yard looks so much better since he's been taking care of it.

Very dependable & reasonable fee. Mr Martin cares about the lawn. There is a special way he cuts the grass. My lawn looks beautiful. He treats it every year to keep it healthy.
