Karma Diva Green Cleaning

We've had Karma Diva cleaning our house biweekly for a few years now, and we are really grateful for our cleaner, Bethany, and for the eco-friendly, people-first principles guiding the business and the owner's integrity and clear communication, especially in the context of the pandemic. We trust Bethany (our super-suspicious cats love her now) and we trust the business.

Great concept, but poor execution. The green cleaning idea and an insured provider were the big selling points. Unfortunately there appears to be a continuous turnover of cleaning staff of variable quality. This is not entirely surprising having seen how the owner talked to one member of staff when she didn't believe the job done was up to standard. Generally the cleaning is reasonable provided you specify precisely what needs to be done i.e. no cleaning under or behind couch without specific request. They appear to be taking on more business than they can fulfill always trying to squeeze and jiggle too many appointments in a day. They do a little less than you'd hope in the time you pay, but that's not surprising for a pay per hour service. The final straw for us was a request to delay a cleaning, led to a reminder that would incur their cancellation fee. We therefore decided not to delay and they were all set to come and clean. It then became apparent their own resource constraints meant they could no longer fit us in and they still tried to charge the cancellation fee. An unprofessional communication stream ended our relationship.

I love working for Karma Diva! As a full time student and single parent, my schedule is limited. Karma Diva offers me the flexibility I need. I’ve also learned some great tips and practices that I’ve implemented at home. If you’re currently looking for a good company that cares about their techs and will fit work into your schedule, then Karma Diva would work great for you!! They’re always looking to add more great cleaners to the crew!!

The cleaner was good. But after I had complain about the services. They discontinue my service. Because I had pets.

We've been using Karma Diva for 10 months and are very happy with their service. Very professional, well organized, environmentally friendly, good communication. They seem to have good ethics concerning the treatment of their employees as well as their clients. The first few visits were by various cleaners. Then we were assigned Dan, who has been our regular cleaner ever since. Karma Diva stays in good communication through email, sending an email prior to each scheduled cleaning to confirm the date, and a follow up receipt afterwards.

So far we have been extremely happy. Karma Diva gives us twice the amount of cleaning for the same price as the other service, their work is great, and we love the eco-friendly materials they use. We also appreciate being notified of the exact two-hour window when the team will be in our house.

The owner came and did a walk through a few days before and gave me an appropriate estimate. She ended up miscalculating the time needed to do a thorough cleaning. The house was not cleaned thoroughly. The floor was still dirty and their were crumbs left in the microwave, cobwebs in places. I was in touch with the owner. She promised a 20% refund. I have not heard back from her since 8/5/17 and have not received my refund. I have tried calling, texting, and emailing multiple times.

Excellent service so far. We have a bi-weekly standing appointment for cleaning. We are a month into our relationship and very happy with the service! Thanks!

I waited a few months to write this review so that I could see how consistent their performance was. So far I have been very happy. This seems to be a well run business. Appointments are done by email and I can pay with a credit card on file. Two cleaners are sent over to get the job done in two hours. I usually get the same cleaners each time and they are very nice people. If there are any problems, I have a phone number to call. To sum up, I have been, I have been happy with Karma Diva and would recommend them.

It was horrible. 1. Cleaners did not arrive on time; 2. Previously agreed place not cleaned; 3. After 5-hour cleaning, there was still visible dust on the floor; 4. We argued with the cleaners about oven and other things not cleaned to our satisfaction. One of the cleaners kicked our furniture; 5. They were not up front with us on the number of cleaners and the hours; 6. Do not think that they did the cleaning in an efficient way.

I had spoken to them and arranged a consultation for this past Weds at 6:30. I received an email back from them Weds morning confirming the appointment. I left work early to be there on time. I emailed them multiple times, yet received no response, even to this moment i write this. I know I wouldn't have been their largest customer, only needing a cleaning person 4 hours once a month, but one of the cornerstones of any successful business should be professionalism. I would not recommend this company to anyone. I also question how someone could actually clean a home using no chemicals.

Did a great job of cleaning the bathrooms and kitchen in our place before we moved in. Even though they had contractors kicking up dust and dirt!

This was a big deal purchase. I had them once and I thought they were terrible. They said they would have, like, two or three people come in, but they sent one person over. The person was late. They make a big fuss about being natural but the person smelled of cigarettes and I don't smoke. She just did a terrible job. I think I paid $240 for six hours of cleaning time. She was there for about six hours and somebody joined her right at the end, I guess one of the managers. It was so disruptive, I kept saying, "please go." She said I paid for the time. I said at some point it does not matter. I am a contract worker and my time is valuable. So it was a disaster and the house was not very clean. That's what upset me. I really did not feel like I got anything out of it. I think the cost was terrible. I have dogs and they said it would be better if I went out so I took the dogs out for a walk for two hours and honestly things looked worse when I came back. I noticed that the person's gasoline cap was off as if she had gone out to get gas or something like that. It was so bizarre. That would not happen again. The quality of service was terrible. The person they had here did not pay attention. That's what upset me more. She was supposed to come at 9 but did not come until 9:20. She told me she was down the street. They said they told me how long they would be here. They called to follow up and asked how I liked the service. I said they took too long and the cleaning was not that good and they said my house must have really been dirty.

I used them a year and half ago, and it was primarily because when we moved into our new house, they didn't have availability. I was very pleased with their services. I especially liked their cleaning, the house always felt good and smelled good. I had an infant in the house and I was pregnant, and nothing ever bothered me and I wasn't concerned about my child crawling on the floor which is with the chemicals. They always used clean products. I would use them again.

I really love the girls at Karma Diva. They are friendly, hard working and do a great job. They know I'm particular and are open to any of my comments. The products they use are all "green" products so you don't have to worry about being assaulted by a lot of chemicals. It took me 3 years to find a company that I was satisfied with and I tried many other cleaners before signing them on to come every 3 weeks.

the second person or estimator informs me that they don't dust the inside of my curio or clean the glass shelves. they don't dust my hardwood floors. they would use water and vinegar to wash my hardwood floors. they don't empty the dishwasher. I told her that I never put water on my hardwood floors, but she insisted that is how they do it regardless of what I want. she then preceded to tell me about what other people do in their home. I thought it best to not continue with hearing this because it made me feel belittled and ignored. I was really really disappointed in them changing what I was expecting and told they would be cleaning my home.

I know when they come sometimes, we may not be here the whole entire year so they may move things so that they can make it clear that they were here, but I'd rather have them put the stuff in the same place.

Very happy with their services. Our basement bathroom was the grimiest of all the rooms and they did a fantastic job lifting the grime. Visible difference. Visible difference on our floors and carpeting too! I went from "yay new home but ugh...gross." to "YES YAY NEW HOME!" when Karma Diva was finished. Very very happy. I want to bring Karma Diva back but with moving with new homes, I'm still sorting out our budget. When I work that out, I plan on bringing Karma Diva back.

They are very flexible. They communicate well. The cleaning is adequate. The price is pretty good.

I'm pretty picky but Kirstin and her team did a better job of cleaning my place than I ever do. All of the light fixtures were dusted, walls were dusted, kitchen appliances were polished and gleaming and the house looks and smells wonderful. I am beyond happy with the job they did. After looking for a house cleaning service for over 3 years, I've finally found someone I will hire on a regular basis. Thanks Kirstin. You and your team were friendly, efficient and wonderful to work with.

They did a very good job. They worked out well. The only problem I have with them is they she didn't get back to be as soon as I would have liked, but I'm okay with it because I'm more concerned about the job that they do. I like the fact that they use green products, so they don't use a lot of chemicals. Very thorough. They did everything on my check list. I would recommend them.
