He got back to me promptly, I sent him a picture on my IPhone of the problem so he brought the materials needed, met me a the said time, is knowledgeable and corrected the problem like an engineer! I'd highly recommend him - a professional from the old school with integrity and skill. Doesn't talk a lot, just digs in and does the job without bragging or telling you how wonderful he is. He was wonderful and refreshing.

Description of Work: My hot water heat pipes were making awful notice and the manual air releases were not working well. They were at my house the day after I called, made the repair and my pipes have been silent ever since.

Description of Work: We were not getting heat past the first floor of our house. We called Mr. Neill and he responded immediately. We made an appointment for a couple days later. He and his helper were punctual. They were professional, but very personable. He felt like someone we'd known for a long time. He is in our neighborhood and knows the area and its older buildings well. We have an old, huge heater that is also our water heater. He and his helper were very efficient and took a very reasonable amount of time for the repairs. He bled the pipes, moved valves that were in the back of the basement that are now near the heater where they should have been from the start. I don't remembered all that was involved, but Mr. Neill did constantly keep us aware of what he was doing. Nothing he did seemed excessive and I felt he was very honest. We had originally called him several months before for an estimate. From what we were saying and what he could see before really getting into the repairs, he gave us an estimate of $900.00. The weather was warm at the time and we didn't call to make the appointment for him to actually do the repairs until several months later. After determining exactly what needed to be done, it ended costing us only $625.00. We were thrilled. We've been warm and cozy ever since. As he was leaving, I mentioned that we'd be calling him again to fix our faucet in the kitchen. He asked to see it and asked if we wanted him to handle it right then. I was thrilled. He had some of what he needed in his truck, but needed to make a run to pick up some parts. In no time all, it was completed. Someone else paid for this repair, so I don't know the exact amount that was charged, but the person felt it was quite reasonable. We will ABSOLUTELY hire John Neill again and would recommend him to anyone.
