Came home from a week away to smell water, and it turn into a multi day project with insurance and calling local plumber by plumber by plumber almost begging for someone to respond. 3 days in of still no response, found Szollose online at 5pm on a Wednesday, they called back immediately, and "we'll be there 8:30 tomorrow morning". On the dot, perfect. Helpful, great to deal with, tracked down a different leak we didn't know was happening, and ended up having them fix (3) different projects while here. Highly recommended, and unlike others, easy to do business with, get in contact with, and quality work. Thank you!

I had a clogged kitchen drain since Sunday morning so when I started calling plumbers on Monday morning I was interested in getting someone the same day. I called and left a message for two plumbers, one of whom called me back but was at another job. Then I received a return call back from Szollose. He did not say hello, just asked me my address. Wanted to know what the problem was. Told me he could probably get to me later in the day. I then felt like I could talk and explained to him that I had already spoken to another plumber who told me the same thing but he could give me a call later and see if the work was still available. He said, "never-mind" and hung up. Maybe I am wrong for calling more than one plumber? Not sure what the etiquette is for this but I was just trying to be honest.

He gave me an estimate back in March. We did not discuss the price. I had a faucet that was leaking. He told me to go buy another faucet that I liked and he would put it in. I haven't found the money to put it in. I will have to call him back. I think his price depends on what you need done. He is high on some and fair on other services. The quality of his service is excellent. He is extremely responsive. He is very professional. I will use him again.

Szollose, Inc was recommended by a gutter cleaning service to unclog an outdoor drain that drains storm water from the gutter system to the ground under my driveway. He returned my call promptly on Saturday and did the work on Monday. Unfortunately he failed to discuss price with me before doing the work. When we first talked we agreed, at least it was my understanding, that he would call me before the work was done and I would give him a credit card. I have always worked on the premise that you agree on a price before the work is done. I fully expected he would call me before doing the work. Instead he unclogged the drain then called me with the price of $380. I told him that seemed high. He said the job required high pressure water and the drain was full of rocks. By that he must have meant the small grains that are on roof tiles because that is what I found in my driveway when I got home. My greatest issue with his performance is his failure to arrive at an agreement before making a claim. I trusted him to be professional as he came recommended from what I considered a reliable contractor. I considered disputing his price but I don't need the aggravation.

Took time to explain everything and also provide suggestions on avoiding issues in the future. I felt that the service provided was done in a way to address the overall issue we had and prevent anything from happening again. Very professional and courteous and easy to deal with.

Response time was very good. Owner did the work himself. Service was a bit gruff, but they were dependable and did a satisfactory job.

Tub was leaking. They quickly helped us figure out why, then did the work on the drain _at my request_ because I knew there was a problem there as well. This is actually the second time they've come to my house; the first time they found another leak, and told me the problem was my dishwasher. In other words these are tradespeople with integrity, who won't try to find ways to charge you money. That means a lot in terms of being able to trust them. i'll be calling on them for plumbing work from now on.

We have used the Szolloses for a number of plumbing jobs over the last few years, including replacing a broken sump pump. On that occasion, we actually called them after having a different plumber out (Zoom plumbing) and unlike Zoom, they actually listened to me about what was happening and were able to identify an issue that Zoom had missed. They also went above and beyond to find a replacement pump (we needed an unusual type) without breaking the bank or replacing the whole pump system. More recently, we had a leaking pipe that needed to be repaired and they again did great work. They have always some to our house within 24 hours of calling and usually the problem is fixed within 24 hours as well. They work quickly and efficiently. Everyone there is very friendly and happy to talk to you and answer questions. I highly recommend them.

He does a good job. It is a little pricey but its worth it. They are always on time.

John quickly provided a competitve bid, but more importantly was very responsive to my need to have this work done quickly. He notifed the other utilities involved (namely the Gas Works) so that all the pre-work marking could be quickly accomplished and the actual work done safely and properly. He started on the first clear day after the winter storm stopped and had to deal with both ice and snow and frozen ground. He listened to all my many questions and provided clear and authoritative answers to all of them . The real miracle of this job was that John and his crew did virtually the entire job in one day -- and even given the weather it was not an easy job (for example there were lots of very large rocks underground in my front yard that needed to be contended with). He also laid out a comprehensive plan to replace the old lead service to the main in the Spring and provided me a very competitive bid on this additional work. He left my yard and house in good shape considering the amount of excavation required; he was even sensitive to the plantings in my front yard, pointing out what might need to be disturbed to get the job done well (actually very little of these were damaged at all). I expected my yard to look like a WWI battlefield, but John left it looking very good. I was really impressed with this. He and one of his crew came back the next day to carry away the excavated rocks and to repair the hole in my basement wall. All in all, I was very impressed with John's work on this somewhat unexpected, major plumbing repair/replacement undertaking.

I called John at 6:45 on a Monday night and left a message with his answering service. He returned my call within 5 minutes, and was out at my house the next morning at 8:30. He worked quickly and professionally.

John and his assistant were on time, pleasant and thorough. This plumber had done major work in the house for the previous owners. Fixing the wobbly toilet was a minor job. Therefore, he took the time to explain the previous work completed and show me the major components of the plumbing and heating systems in the basement, and gave me some advice about maintenance, which was appreciated. Re the possible leak from the bathroom, identified several possible sources of the leak (not all plumbing-related) and recommended some things to do/take notice of that would be helpful in pinpointing the source. Did recommend replacement of the furnace (which is original to the house and therefore about 75 yrs old) -- home inspector had advised waiting until it gives out; I'll wait, thanks!

JOHN SZOLLOSE DOES EXCELLENT, NO-NONSENSE WORK. HE IS VERY RESPONSIVE. THE DAY THAT THE CITY WAS SCHEDULED TO COME OUT AND TAP INTO THE MAIN PIPE IN THE STREET, JOHN WAS OUT DIGGING UP THE STREET BY HAND AT 5:30 IN THE MORNING, BY FLASHLIGHT. HIS HELPERS WERE KNOWLEDGEABLE, FRIENDLY AND POLITE. THIS IS THE THIRD TIME HE HAS BEEN TO MY HOUSE, AND THE SECOND TIME I HAVE HIRED HIM TO DO REPAIRS AND I WOULD NOT HESITATE TO CALL ON HIM AGAIN.

OUTSTANDING. HE ANSWERED THE PHONE HIMSELF, SAID HE WAS ON ANOTHER JOB AND TO GIVE HIM ABOUT 45 MINUTES. HE CAME OVER ON TIME AND WASN'T FOOLING AROUND. HE HAD EVERYTHING HE NEEDED TO DO THE JOB AND OBVIOUSLY KNEW WHAT HE WAS DOING. I WAS AMAZED HOW FAST HE GOT IT DONE.

THE WORK WAS SHODDY, OVERPRICED, THE EMPLOYEES WERE IGNORANT AND DISRESPECTFUL. THEY WERE EXTREMELY SLOW TO DO THE FOLLOW UP WORK. I'VE HAD TO HIRE OTHER PEOPLE TO COME IN AND FIX THEIR MISTAKES.

JOHN SZOLOSE HAS ALWAYS BEEN RELIABLE AND DOES EXCELLENT WORK. HOWEVER THERE IS A PREMIUM FOR HIS RESPONSIVENESS.
