ISC LLC Remodeling

I had had problems for years with a bathroom that was poorly installed. There was an intermittent leak that damaged the ceiling of my front entryway. Several contractors and plumbers hade been out over the years to try to correct the problem but it persisted. Ian came promptly, was very flexible with my work schedule, and was up front about his plan. He discovered that the tub tiles had been installed on regular drywall, a big no-no, and that leaks were occurring because of it. In one day he patched and repainted a 4'x4 section of ceiling, removed moldy caulk and replaced it, AND replaced a wood sill to my front door (which was an extra I threw at him at the last minute). He even bleached the moldy grout to make it look better since he was not replacing the tile yet on this job. Everything looks beautiful and he was a pleasure to work with. I will absolutely use him again as the bad bathroom tile will have to be completely redone.

The company owner was one of several people I called to assess the job, He returned my call within 48 hours and made an appointment to come and see the job within another 48 hours. After checking out the extent of the work he left and called me the following day with a very reasonable quote. We set up and appointment for the work to be completed - he was actually available before I could schedule, but the job was done in a very professional manner by an expert plasterer in about 4 hours. In addition, I would like to say that all three areas were thoroughly cleaned and all the mess was carried away. One additional thing that I really appreciated was that the men experienced a slight traffic delay - and called to advise me that they would arrive approximately 15 minutes late!

If a customer's call is not returned, you begin to feel like a burden.

Their service was impeccable. We live in a small one bedroom condo, and the damage was in the bedroom. The work took four days, but they covered all our furniture, and every evening returned our bedroom to a condition where (apart from the missing drywall the first night) we were completely uninterrupted from using the bedroom as usual, and that first night, was fine as well, just a little freaky looking into walls we weren't used to looking into. The work came out great, they kept the place clean the whole time, and you would have barely known we were having construction work done during the process. I would recommend them highly!

Ian and Mike were everything you'd expect from the Angie's List service, professional, punctual and polite. My Mom had met the guys and opened up the house for them. From there they coverered all the furniture took up very little space with their equipment. They knocked the job out with no drama or fuss and in the time frame they told us they would take. We had a small miscommunication about something but after one phone call (that was promptly returned) the problem was resolved. Ian is sincere in what he tells you and cares about his work and your opinion. If we could scratch up more cash to fix more problems we would call ISC in a heartbeat.

The price was competitive. There were complication that arose and choice had to be reinforced. I had to get a permit for plumbing and stuff.

These guys were awesome. My bathroom had been repaired very cheaply by the previous owners, and you could tell they cut corners wherever they could. Ian and his guys did a great job dealing with the existing problems, and although there were a few unexpected issues, they dealt with them very professionally and handled the setbacks with ease. Also, it turned out that the items I bought from Home Depot and Lowes were pretty of poor quality (my cheap sink/vanity combo was a mess and the tiles I bought ended up being all different sizes) but they were able to work with them and made my bathroom look great! On top of all of this, they were all really great guys, you could tell they really care about their clients and the work they do. I plan renting my place out by the end of the year, and I will definitely call Ian if I ever need work done.

They came and gave me an estimate which was very reasonable. We scheduled the work for a day I would be home and they were all very pleasant and cordial. The work was done very well and in a timely manner.

Ian did an outstanding job with moving a laundry room to the second floor. I have a 100 year old house and nothing was a problem for him. I trusted him to leave a key everyday while I went to work. He came in, did the work and left the work area in a clean condition. The best was the end product, he gave me exactly what I was looking for. Yep, I got more for him to do, like I said I have a100 year old house.

Ian was very responsive by phone in scheduling an estimate. He came out to our house over a weekend when it was convenient to us. He gave us useful feedback in potential layout changes and materials options for the bathroom. He got back to us within a week with a detailed estimate for the project. In the end we decided to delay tackling the remodel, but we would definitely consider ISC when we decide to do it.

Ian did a great job working with the no so perfect floors created by the original builders and now the house looks fabulous. The job was done quickly and professionally. I would recommend to others in a second (and have).

ISC Remodeling did a fantastic job from start to finish. Ian responded very quickly when I asked for an estimate. I had a few questions and changes, and he again responded right away. Demo of the old bathroom was done quickly and cleanly, and I really appreciated that they took the time to correct some minor plumbing issues that we discovered after tearing out the drywall. Ian, Mike and Ed were all easy to talk to and very thorough with their work. They checked with me throughout the project to see if I had any questions and make sure I was happy with how the project was going. The bathroom was finished within the time frame they gave me and it turned out beautifully. Everything looks great -- the tile work, the vanity and medicine cabinet they installed, the niches in the shower walls, the recessed shelf they built in one of the walls. My wife and I were very happy with all the work that was done and are already planning to use ISC Remodeling for more work in the future.

Having had bad experience with numerous contractors in the past, I was wary when Ian arrived 25 minutes late for the start of our project and ran into an electrical problem which took the project more than 10% over before we started. Ian was able to bring in the costs rather quickly and, in all honestly, I realized it was our home (100 years old) and not him. The project was a 10' x 11' sun room covered in carpeting and a loose board underneath. Ian removed the carpeting, secured the floor, ran a new electrical line and installed new breaker (subcontracted), leveled the floor, installed NuHeat under-floor heating and installed the tile we chose and purchased, staggering the tiles to make a nice pattern. We deferred to Ian for the grout color and it's perfect. 5-days from start to finish and we came home to a warm-tile floor and a sun-room we can use a full 3-seasons out of the year. Lessons Learned: When a contractor is unsure of something (i.e. NuHeat was to be on it's own breaker), get contractor to confirm that and price running the electrical to get a full estimate before we start; ensure contractor checks electrical box to see if there is room for a new breaker. Get a firm start date; I had said "anytime after Oct 10" meaning I wanted the 11th or 12th while the contractor inferred that I was flexible after that and went with 2 weeks after.

Ian was very professional and timely - from the first email contact, to the visit for quote, to getting the work done on schedule with very short notice. Could not be more pleased with the quality of work. Wish I'd had the door frame reworked years ago.

I never received an estimate. The first appointment that was scheduled was a no-show. Ian was very apologetic and since I really liked the work I saw on their website, I decided to schedule a second appointment for the estimate. The second appointment time went by with no call and it was many hours past the scheduled time of 9 a.m. when I received a call to confirm a totally different time than was scheduled. I decided at that point that I wouldn't pursue things any further. It seemed to me that they were either over-booked or just not very punctual. Or perhaps they weren't interested in a job in the $20k range. I have to say that Ian was very apologetic and very nice and had things gone well for the second scheduled appointment I'd have loved to have worked with his team who seem to be a very talented bunch. Continued... I can sum up Ian's work with one word: SUPERB The tile work he did was absolutely beautiful! The grout lines are so straight and clean it's amazing. Him and his guy Mike were friendly, knowledgeable and had a great work ethic. I'd hire him again in a heartbeat.

We just finished our fourth project with Ian and his team. I cannot say enough good things about the quality of his work, his professionalism, his creative problem solving. Our first project with him was about 4.5 years ago. We had spent a ton of money on glass tile and wanted to make sure it was installed correctly. We chose Ian for the job after some research and he did an incredible job. He worked late into the night one night right before Christmas to finish the project because we had company coming into town for the holidays. We have since worked together several more times, and every time we are absolutely thrilled not only by his work, which is pristine, but by his ability to accurately estimate how long it will take, the fact that he always arrives when he says he will, and the fact that he cleans up after himself as if he were doing the work in his own home. We have worked with a lot of contractors over the past 5 years during the total gutting/full renovation of our 4000 sq foot home, and Ian sets the standard for quality of work and professionalism. He's the best!

Ian was very pleasant and professional. He provided a detailed estimate and the communication was good. At the end of the day the estimate was a little too high for my budget so I opted for another contractor. But my experience with Ian was very good.

They took down the ceiling, put in insulation, replaced it with dry-wall. They also fixed both walls, all within a couple days. They were very professional, easy to work with, and went above and beyond, such has installing insulation after discovering that there was not any after removing the ceiling. They also noticed one of our doors was not shutting properly and just went ahead and fixed it. We are extremely happy with their work. With various home repair projects still in our queue, we will definitely seek them out again.

Ian responded promptly to our request for work and provided us with an estimate within a few days of my initial call. He was prompt and professional. He showed up each morning promptly according to the schedule. Not only was the work done professionally, but Ian and his team offered us cost saving suggestions and other creative ideas that improved the total quality of the work. We had multiple concurrent renovation projects, some of them were complex. Every project was completed with professionalism and attention to detail. Each day Ian and his team worked full days, dedicated to our project alone. At the end of each day, our home was immaculate. The cleanup was so thorough that you couldn't tell that they had been there. Ian delivered what was promised (and then some) at a fair and honest price. I would not hesitate to use ISC again for any size project.

Ian did a really great job with our kitchen backsplash. We were very pleased with his suggestion of placing tiles a bit behind the refrigerator, and with his tile design under the window - both things that we did not think of that he came up with on his own. A few contentious issues came up over the course of the job that he handled with aplomb, proving his interest in customer satisfaction. I really appreciate his ability to deal with client changes of heart. *The only negatives are that he could have been a bit more careful with our house. Some tile sealer ended up on the floor that he did not see. Also, he was a bit late on the first day of the job, which lead to my husband being late for work.

I've worked with three other contractors since buying my home a year and a half ago (there was a lot to do) and ISC was like a breath of fresh air! I will always call them first for any future project. I know it sounds like a fairy tail, but Ian and Mike showed up every day on time, in a good mood and ready to work. They were knowledgable, hard working, honest and pleasant to be around. My house looks great. Because of my past experiences I thought it would always have to track down contractors and beg them to finish the jobs they had started. I thought it was "normal" to be disatisfied with the finished product. But ISC has honestly broken every stereotype! The work they did looks wonderful and I'm sooooo pleased! Thank you ISC!

Excellent. Ian responded to me right away (via email and phone) and was able to do the work very quickly. I let him into my house when I wasn't there and I had no problems. The work looks great. He was very pleasant to work with. I will definitely use him again to do more work in my house. The price was very reasonable as well.

I cannot say enough positive things about ISC. I called them after seeing them on Angie's List over 4 months ago. I hired them for the first job I had them bid on and use them for most of the jobs at our numerous properties in Center City. Ian is very professional and does a top-notch job no matter how big or small. ISC has found a customer for life in me.
