Hobe Antique Furniture Restoration

Description of Work: Refused to reschedule appointment and guilted me into keeping appointment, claiming he had worked me into his schedule at great trouble, that he was doing me a favor, and that if I didn't keep it, he would not reschedule it. Called three hours after we were set to meet, at 3 pm, saying he didn't have my address. When I called back, I asked him how long he would be spending on the job, which he quoted to be $400, and with that question, told me he did not think we would get along, and he would not come. He was supposed to quote a restoration on many pieces, and assist in unpacking fragile antiques. He is a mean, inconsiderate and selfish person, entirely unprofessional. He completely inconvenienced me. He talks a good game, and proved to be completely unreliable.

Description of Work: Mr. Hobe "refurbished" a rock maple dining table, three leaves and five matching chairs. The table had been lightly abused and the surface finished was stained. The leaves and chairs were simply tired-looking and had been stored in a dry basement. |Mr. Hobe recommended that he refinish as needed the table surface and the leaves, and clean and polish the chairs. Just how much full refinishing was involved (sanding, staining, sealing) I really don't know. But when the table came back, it did look wonderful. |His service was fantastic, and so was the price. I think if I had gotten other estimates maybe I could have saved some money. But Mr. Hobe does really good work and he is a great guy and I would definitely ask him to do work for me again.

Description of Work: I had a hand painted chest. One of my cleaning ladies took the finish off the top of the chest. I was referred to Furniture Medic. He was able to refurbish it and then some. It was beautiful job and looked amazing!!

Description of Work: He came and stripped and replaced some rotting wood on our front door. He also replaced the screen in the door.
