Ron was great to work with. He came out to the house to review the situation and upon seeing the many problems with our existing railing, recommended and complete replacement (which was certainly the right thing to do). He and his assistant spent two days crafting an beautiful replacement railing that was sturdy (a major concern after or old rickety railing) and looked great given the odd nature of our stairs. Completely custom and well built He then turned his attention to bolstering the stairs themselves from below. While they are not perfect, I believe he did the best that could be done with what was there. They are much more sturdy than before. After the good experience so far, we had him look at our awful basement stairs and he suggested a replacement (though a much less expensive set of stairs and railing given this is an unfinished basement. The replacements are VERY sturdy and look great. Great work isn't cheap, but if you care about quality, Ron is the man to go to for your stairs and railings.

He showed up when he was supposed to and was extremely thorough and did great work. Ron is very talented and his attention to detail and perfectionism created a beautiful stairwell for us to enjoy for years to come.

We were very pleased with the work. Jim is professional, does excellent work quickly, and is very price conscious. He and his helper were onsite each day and were pleasant to work with. They work neatly and clean up. He is upfront about what the project will involve and costs for various aspects of the work. We had initially intended to repair a small corner of the porch that had water damage from a leak and then install windows. During the course of the porch repair, Jim discovered signs of insect infestation, so we brought in an exterminator to treat the house while Jim removed all infested materials. The infestation ended up being much more extensive than we had anticipated and required removing everything down to pressure treated decking before rebuilding the walls and adding windows. All the additional unanticipated work only took an extra couple of days and the cost was not all that much more than the cost of materials. They installed a total of 13 windows for us including 9 sliders on the porch and 4 in the basement. They did a good job in a short amount of time, cleaned up well, and the finished project is great. We were very pleased with their work and have hired Jim for other jobs on several occasions and recommended him many times over.

He’s a contractor but specializes in custom carpentry. He is a great guy. He is a very clean and a good worker and he knows his stuff. He is very price conscious.
