Response from Gtm Landscaping Inc
In my defense, I returned this mans phone call in a timely manner as always by the look of my A rating, I set up an appointment with him and was on time as always by the look of my A rating. I showed up, as many contractors simply don't, and made a thorough assessment of this mans wall he wanted replaced. I let him know up front I was extremely behind with ongoing spring start up services and would get back to him via email ASAP, absolutely not in 3 days. That, obviously was his wishful thinking! I did get back to him by email with a fair market quote as timely as I could but it was not fast enough for him, obviously. He asked me for pictures and I let it be known I do not take pictures of my work that in the event I was to do work on his property I would give him a santa claus list of addresses in his area of work I have completed in the past that he could look at and possibly meet my clients as well. I guess that was not good enough for him. Does not surprise me coming from a man who spent 15 minutes of the appointment verbally disrespecting his wife right in front of me about wall and color and such with no regard. To be quite frank, he was rude and impersonal. Would have much rather dealt with his wife who I spoke to at the start of the appointment while I was waiting 10 minutes for him to come out of the house. I have been landscaping 26 years successfully and I fully understand the consumer is always right, but in defense of the contractor, we who are always timely in our duties deserve the right to combat such consumers who are never satisfied no matter what! I own and operate a 12 man company proudly and strictly am a repeated and referral service. There are no phone numbers on my trucks and I would like to keep it that way. There is no crime in not being able to provide pictures of my work. Who is to say there even my pictures! I have seen and heard that one before in my many years of business! For this man, he has the right to voice his opinion but to be quite honest, I am happy I am not working for him because I get the feeling nothing would of been good enough for him anyway. Can't make everybody happy, and that is the truth! I know one thing, and that is I sleep very good at night knowing I lay it out on the line everyday, six days a week, 15 hours a day, physically working and keeping up administratively as well. I don't like bad reviews and obviously take them to heart. I pride myself on everything I do in the industry I love. My Angies List rating should speak for itself and it will continue to do so. Again in the defense of the reputable contractor, there are many bad apples in our contracting world but let it be known that there are many bad apples in the consumer world as well and not talked about enough!
