My house is almost 100 years old, and my large wrap-around porch, pillars, trim, and railings badly needed paint. The old paint was peeling and chipped, and some of the wood needed repair. A lot of prep and detailed painting was involved because of the age of the house and bad condition of my paint. Matt and his crew came to the rescue and did a very thorough and beautiful job, power washing, sanding, and painting everything so that it looked like new! Matt met with me right away, and we went over the details as far as what kind of paint would be used and how they would go about the job. Everything was finished well before the date I requested, and by the time of my 4th of July party, the porch looked amazing! I got so many compliments from the guests who visited that day, and my family and I are really enjoying sitting out there this summer. I really can't say enough good things about Matt and his crew. They were very respectful, efficient, and did a thorough cleanup when they were finished. They will be coming back to finish up the rest of the work I need done outside, another porch in the back and my garage. I would highly recommend Matthew Rathgeb Painting!

Terrific! Skilled, professional, and personable. After seeing Matthew's signs around our neighborhood and reading the reviews on Angie's List, we were so pleased to find that Matthew and his guys exceeded our already high expectations. Matthew is responsive, punctual and congenial - it is a pleasure to work with him. House painting was done with terrific care and efficiency, and we have received countless compliments on the finished work.

The biggest surprise was the pressure washing. It completely transformed the overall appearance of the house. It is remarkable how much dirt accumulates on vinyl siding and stucco. I was blown away. This was a two day job with one person on the pressure washing for both days. Two others were on the bedrooms for two days, and one person was on the exterior work for part of one day. Having used Matt twice before I was not surprised by the professionalism and thorough cleanliness of the crew.These are great guys that really know how to paint. You will absolutely be pleased with their work.

It went very well. Matt and crew showed up on time every day, started the job earlier than promised, and completed on schedule. They were all very respectful, covered all areas, moved furniture as necessary, and cleaned up at the end of each day. Paint job was done well and professionally. All of the new colors look great and the kitchen cabinets look new again. I would recommend Matt and his crew to family and friends.

Matt was very quick in responding to my inquiry, punctual showing up, and discussed in depth what my concerns where and how to approach the project. This room likely needed more prep work than most projects because of some prior water damage and he felt that because of the prep work involved it would be better to do the project over several days to allow joint compound/etc to dry prior to painting. Jon was the individual who arrived on-time and early in the morning each day. He is very talented and did a great job fixing the molding and water damaged areas on the ceiling as well as the cracks on the walls prior to painting. He covered up all our furnishings, was clean, and worked hard every day. The completed paint job looks great with sharp lines between the different colors. Matt called during the project to see if we had any questions. I did not bother to get other quotes since Matt's quote seemed appropriate for the work we wanted done and he understood what my concerns were. I would highly recommend him and his team.

I got Matt's information from Angie's list and I'm so glad hired him to remove the wallpaper and paint a room in our house. He was very professional and responsive. First he came by to take a look at the room and give us a quote ( we had no clue of wall paper removal). After taking a look he explained to us in detail what the scope of work would be. The entire project went so smoothly. I would highly recommend Matt. It was a pleasure having him do the work. The cost was very reasonable. All in all,one happy customer!

I was pleased from start to finish: 1-Matt had recommendations for finishes to use on heavy use flooring and foundation and provided literature on his recommendations. 2-Matt worked to match colors already on porch and find new colors for deck. He obtained 'test paint' quarts to confirm colors prior to painting. 3-Crew was friendly, professional, attentive to detail (on a Victorian there is a lot) and extremely clean in their work. All of the painters appear to take pride in their work. My porch and deck are beautiful and as a self proclaimed 'picky person' I am so happy with the work that I have already lined Matt and his guys up for two more projects.

Matt was great and his crew was very professional. I hardly knew they were here! They did a great job on the areas in need of work and cleaned everything up before they left. Some of the areas were difficult to reach (chimney!), but they did a great job. We were very satisfied and would highly recommend them.

Matthew was very prompt in answering my call and came on time for an estimate. He spent a lot of time going over everything with me. They came while we were away to do the job and moved all the furniture and put everything back. Everything was all clean when we came home. They fixed my ceilings which had cracks. He came back after I returned and fixed a few minor things. I think it was well worth the expense to not have to worry and have the job done well.

We are extremely pleased with the end work product. 25-30 years ago the home was painted; therefore, it was in need of caulking, checking stucco, and looking for decaying wood. If there was a need to fix these it was tended to. There was a pressure washing. Two protective coats of special weather paint were applied. The six over six wooden windows in old section of house were all tended to and fresh paint applied with the glass panes free of paint splatter. Mr. Rathgeb came to the job site every day checking with his painters and us. Matt walked with us around the home to make sure we were satisfied with the progress. His painters also asked us if there were any items we saw that needed their attention. At the end of each day all their equipment was neatly stored away. The job was completed in a timely manner resulting in each detail we asked to have done accomplished.

Amazing job, great suggestions (adding black matte paint behind recessed TV so that the television disappears in the wall), professional, polite, punctual! Will definitely use again and recommend to friends/family.

The job took two days, they arrived at the agreed time both days and the paint looks great. Matt was a pleasure to work with and his team was very professional. I wouldn't hesitate to hire them again in the future.

This was part 2 of a large interior paint job. Please see my previous review dated December 11, 2015. Previously Matt and his crew painted our master bedroom and attached hall. For this larger job they painted the master bathroom, living room, dining room, kitchen, foyer, laundry room and two associated halls. This is a large ranch home with an open architecture where the wall and ceiling of one room flows into the next. Ceilings are either 9 foot or 11 foot high. The dining room has crown molding and a ceiling medallion. The project took 5 days. Matt's crew included Eric, Mike, Rob, Ian, and of course Matt. Four men on two days, 3 on one day, and 2 on two days for a total of 15 man days of work. They were painting over the original builder grade junk paint. The house is 9 years old and in serious need of a paint job. The conditions of the walls was very poor. There were large expanses of paint covered grit that required heavy sanding.Numerous nail pops, open seams, and assorted maladies. The prep work required a lot of plaster, spackle, and caulk. My wife had a very difficult time finding the ideal color. We wanted to use Sherwin Williams paint but her favorite color was a Behr color. Sherwin Williams did not have a similar color. Luckily, Sherwin Williams has Behr colors in their computer so they are able to produce an exact match without having to do a optical scan of the color card. Matt used Sherwin Williams Bath Paint in the master bathroom and Super Paint elsewhere. As before, lines between the walls and ceiling and between all of the wood trim and the walls was meticulous. Matt's crew is extremely neat and they clean up at the end of the day leaving all rooms fully accessible and litter free. His team is very friendly and a pleasure to have in the house. They all arrived at 7:30 and left somewhere between 3 and 4 every day. If they take a lunch break it is a short one. Communications is excellent. Matt outlined the goals for each day before the work began and I received an e-mail from him each evening making sure everything was satisfactory and encouraging questions. You will not be disappointed if you hire Matt for your next paint job. I will certainly call on him if a future need arises and will personally recommend him to my friends and neighbors.

Matthew and his team are excellent. Matt was always very prompt in responding to my questions, his showed up on time every day and were very professional and took good care with drop cloths, cleaning up etc. They were extremely thorough with the prep work, and went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect. They even repainted the brackets for the blinds, which had paint dripped on them from a previous paint job. I can't recommend them highly enough and I will definitely use them again

It's no wonder that Matt has so many positive reviews. The quality of his work and his professionalism is extreme. After Matt quoted the job we had frequent e-mail communications working out the details of paint selection and scheduling. Contacting him is very quick and easy. Matt and Eric arrived at 7:30 and quickly began moving furniture and tarping the area. It's a large bedroom with an 11 foot high tray ceiling. There is an adjoining hall leading to the master bathroom and walk-in closet. One color on the ceiling, one color on the tray area, and one color on the walls. I was very concerned about the dividing lines between colors and Matt did a flawless job. Three doors also required painting. The walls were in poor shape so I had previously asked Matt to completely sand the walls and lightly sand all of the trim. Matt and Eric took their time and did a very thorough job which included various spackling, fixing several nail pops, and repair of a separating outside corner. Ceiling, tray, and doors were completed on the first day with walls and trim on the second day. Wrap-up was around 3:00 each day. They make frequent use of a shop vac keeping the area free of dust and debris. Cleanup was in my laundry area wash basin and it was left spotless. Afterwards all of the receptacle plates were replaced and furniture carefully put back in place. They are very clean workers. Do your homework. Read the reviews, get competitive quotes, and if you choose MRP painting you will not be dissapointed. I will be using Matt and his team again to do a much larger job once my wife decides on the colors.

I was pleased with the work they did for me 3 years ago, so I called Matt again. My living room is 19x31 feet, with plaster walls and 17 windows. Matt and his men did meticulous work. They covered all surfaces and cleaned up thoroughly each day. There were 2 sizable holes in the plaster. Matt spent a lot of time repairing them, and they're hardly noticeable now. Matt has very high standards. If there is any problem, he takes care of it right away. The room looks wonderful.

Matt and his crew were excellent. Very professional and very good at what they do. Matt responded quickly and gave us a reasonable quote. The original quote was what we paid. There were no surprises. They arrived on time every day and completed the job in the length of time quoted. They removed very old and very difficult wallpaper in the dining room, family room, foyer, hallway and stairwell, skim coated what couldn't be completely removed and fixed any other problem areas. The walls looked like new when they were done. Matt's crew member, Joe also removed a horrible popcorn ceiling in our dining room. To say it looks incredible now, would be an understatement. After all this, they painted all of the areas, including many windows and they were meticulous. All of the rooms look new. I should have hired them years ago. Every night they cleaned up and when they were ready to leave at the end of the job, they cleaned the floors and the adjacent areas. If you are looking for any painting in your home, YOU SHOULD HIRE THESE GUYS!!

We've had a lot of painting companies work on our home...MRP is by far the best! Professional, punctual, excellent job from start to finish, and the right price. I wish we had known Matthew for past painting projects...we will definitely be using MRP again.

I contacted MRP Painting in the fall of 2014 to paint the exterior of my house. Matt Rathgeb the owner was quick to respond however they were very busy at that time with work that they were already committed to and the weather was limiting the time available before winters onset. I understood this and again contacted them this year. Again Matt was quick to respond made an appointment and kept the appointment right on time. I also contacted two other painting companies who also had good reviews on Angie's List. I received the three quotes and although all were professional in their responses and their estimates were competitive I felt most confident in the thoroughness of Matt's inspection of the proposed work; including arranging a meeting with the manufacturers representative at the site to specify the appropriate material for painting of the metal roof. They did the exterior work and as they were nearing completion I was so impressed with their work that I decided to have them also paint the interior of the house. From the initial contact, through the preparation of the areas until the last brush stroke Matt and his crew have been terrific to work with. All questions and concerns have been quickly addressed, the extra work was always priced fairly and they did a great job on both the exterior and interior. I would not hesitate to recommend Mathew Rathgeb painting to anyone who is looking for a professional company to do a quality job.

We cannot say enough good things about Matt and his professional crew. We had the 2nd floor of our townhouse painted and needless to say, we are very pleased with their work. They were prompt, neat, courteous, friendly, and very conscientious with an obvious focus and attention to detail. Matt and his team did an fantastic job! They removed the 30 year old wallpaper in our living, dining room, hallway, basement stairway and one bedroom. They did a prep job of light sanding and patching all the holes and cracks. They caulked all of the wood trim around every door and window. The ceilings and walls were finished with two coats of paint in the color we selected. Matt and his team were extremely professional. They worked efficiently and meticulously from start to finish. They were always on time, considerate and cared about the quality of their work. Matt and his crew maintained very high standards of preparation, execution and clean up. We are VERY happy with the results and service provided. We have gotten tons of complements from our family and friends, too. We couldn't be happier. Thank you so much! Matt and all of his crew are great. Very professional and skilled in their craft for repairs and painting. Everyone is always very courteous and professional. Always on time. They cover all items while they work in each room. They clean up and put everything back together at the end of each day. Even if they are not done, they leave things in a way that you can live in your environment without interruption to your evening lives. That was very important to us to be able to use our kitchen, family room and TV each evening. Their clean up is fabulous. You cannot pay the attention to detail yourself that Matt and his team can provide to you. I highly recommend their work and professionalism.
