Matt is a delight to work with. He is extremely detailed and puts his customers? front and center. Matt was in constant contact with us throughout the whole process, making sure that we were satisfied with every step of the project. Matt has an exceptional crew of dedicated professionals. They showed up on time each day and took great pains to insure that everything was cleaned up as well as possible each night. We were very pleased with their work. We would certainly use MRP Painting again and highly recommend them to anyone with a painting project.

The area was approximately 550 feet of floor space, walls and ceiling including a wall going up the stairs to the 2nd floor, one stretch of wall done a different color from the other areas, surfaces involved old plaster and wood panel, two day job. Matt and MRP were very easy to work with from scheduling the estimate to paying the final bill. I was very pleased with the outcome, the walls were in sort of rough shape and they did a good job with some problem areas. Day of the job they were outside and ready to go before I even arrived, and did a great job keeping paint off everything but the walls even though they didn't really have to (the floors were having their own old paint sanded off the following week). Overall a good experience and I feel like I got my money's worth.

I couldn't of asked for more. Matt responded to my phone call immediately and scheduled an estimate at a time convenient for me. Once the estimate was set, we set up a time for the very next week for his crew to come out. Matt stayed in constant communication with me throughout the process, and responded very quickly to any small questions I may have had. He even made sure to point out using a non-VOC paint since my wife and I are expecting. Matt and his team showed up right on time, got to work, and were very professional throughout the whole experience. The whole job only took one day. I was very impressed with the results and will gladly have MRP come out and do some more work for me in the future. A big thank you to Matt and his team!

They were easy to communicate with and got the job done nicely. There are a few spots where the skim coat job was not even in our kitchen but they were working around large cabinets. We are planning on using them again to paint other rooms.

They arrived on time and were professional friendly and just on point with what needed to be done. They even stayed a little later than usual to finish up with no extra cost. The project took about two days to complete and I have a great trust level with this company as left them my keys so they could let themselves in. Everyone was very trustworthy and I have nothing but good things to say. I have used them before to paint my living room. Matt Rathgeb is very honest with his estimates and there were no hidden fees or costs the price was fair and reasonable and even though there are other painters out there but MRP Painting is the one for me I just can't beat fair, honest, good quality workmanship and the pride they have in their work shows in the finished product. I'm looking to this company for future projects.

Matt is extraordinarily professional, has excellent communication skills, is prompt and thorough in all aspects of his work from evaluation to proposal to performing the job. He is detail oriented which comes in handy for both the administrative parts of his job and for the painting. Matt, Paul, Ken, Ricky and Eric did a meticulous job of painting. They were very careful to meet (and exceed) all of the job specifications and asked questions when they wanted clarification. At the end of each day they cleaned up the house so that we were able to live comfortably. And, at the end of the job, they cleaned, vacuumed and left the house in very good shape. This is the kind of company we like to deal with. They care about the quality of the work they do and they treat their customers the way they'd want to be treated. It's very rare to find tradesmen who deliver this quality of service and expertise in their work. Thanks to Angie's List we found them! If you need painting done at your home, we'd highly recommend MRP Painting... you won't go wrong! We already asked them to come back to do some outdoor work too!

I hired Matt to paint our living room, dining room, family room and powder room. But before he could get to the painting, he had to deal with the reality that our house was built in the 1950's and we had wallpaper that had been painted over, with the seems still showing. So there was a lot of sanding and repair to be done first. And in the powder room, we had him tear down a small closet to make the room more comfortable. Lastly, we uncovered some water damage from an old leak, which Matt repaired. Matt's estimate for the work was 3 days, but with the additional work performed, (drywall repair, unanticipated wallpaper issues) he did have to spend an extra day on site. This is no fault of his own, it's because we increased the scope of the project. And he told me in advance this additional work would push back the schedule. I approved it. But even with the extra day, Matt held true to his original estimate. The extra sanding and priming and drywall repair was not charged to me. He admitted that he should have estimated these repairs initially, and since he did not he would not go back on his estimate. You'll have a hard time finding a service company that will keep their word like this. When I requested a whole new section of the house to be painted, which was not originally estimated, he quoted me a price and we agreed to it. But every other issue he ran into unexpectedly, he just performed the work and moved on. After he and his crew finished up, they moved the furniture back, they vacuumed the floors, they packed up all their supplies and labeled the remaining paint and left that with me. My wife and I are very pleased with Matt and his team. Regarding the quality of the work, we are very surprised. We haven't found any issues. No drips, no smudges, nothing. Paint is paint, but when it's so uniformly applied it really looks great. And the time that MRP put into the trim around our doors and windows really paid off. The bright whites look so great. Before he left, I asked Matt to measure a few other rooms in our house that we'll eventually want to paint so that when our budget allows we will already know the cost. We won't bother shopping around, we'll just call Matt.

The process went very well from beginning to end. Matt of MRP responded promptly to the initial request for an estimate for the job. The work was scheduled and performed as agreed. The MRP team were courteous and punctual. The job was completed on schedule and I am very pleased with the results as well as the professional manner of MRP.

I called MRP painters and left a message, within minutes Matt called me back and apologized for not answering his phone.Right then I got a good feeling. He came out the next day and looked over what we wanted done. We had a major leak that had ruined the wall and it needed to be repaired and painted. He explained all that they would do, clean, repair and paint. He asked if we had a color picked or did we want to have help in picking free of charge. My husband and I choose to meet with their color consultant from Sherman Williams Donna, who was wonderful. She helped us pick a color that looks great!!! They arrived on time very polite and professional. They were very careful to insure everything was covered and protected. There was no paint anywhere except on the walls. They vacuumed and cleaned up and replaced the heavy furniture. My husband and I will be calling MRP again to do any painting jobs we have. Working with the MRP painters was an absolute pleasure. I highly recommend them to anyone who needs painting done

Matt at MRP is a nice guy and very pleasant to deal with. He and his partner painted the middle bedroom in about 7 hours. They were punctual and got right to the work at hand. The work was perfect.. Their price was about two-thirds of a quote I got from another company. They cleaned up after themselves leaving nothing behind but a well done job at a fair price. i would absolutely use them again.

They were just fine. They were kind. They had to come a long way out, because I'm in the suburbs. So I know that they don't get very much from Angie's List for doing that and I felt that it's hard on them. We had a water leak through some lights, but I don't really think it was their fault, they had to use quite a bit of water to get the wallpaper off. The price was terrific.

Matt , the owner is fantastic. He came when scheduled to review and quote the job. He followed up with me prior to the scheduled job date. He showed up on time and he and his staff did an excellent job. The work looks great , he was very careful to protect all areas and clean up when he was done. I would definitely recommend him and use him again.

I recently rehabbed a property in Manayunk and reached out to Matt at MRP for his help. Matt was extremely professional throughout the process and an overall pleasure to work with. He painted the entire house, at a fair price, quickly and efficiently. Matt is extremely meticulous and his work is flawless. He is very responsive to questions and kept me updated on his progress. This was the best experience we have had in dealing with a service provider. Matt was prompt for the appraisal and his crew were always on time and were very professional for the four days that they worked in our house. They cleaned up after themselves and made the whole experience pleasurable. Would use them again, and would highly recommend them to anyone who needs painting done.

We use MRP a month ago to provide the same service. We were so pleased with their performance on the last project that it was a "no brainer" to call him for this space. The level of professionalism of Matt and his staff is a pleasure to deal with. He was also extremely accommodating with his time.

From beginning to end, this was a terrific experience. I left a voicemail initially for Matt to call me back about coming out to my condo to give me an estimate. He called me back promptly and quickly came out to give me an estimate, which he emailed me later that day. On the day of the painting, he and his co-worker showed up on time and got right to work. I have hardwood floors throughout my first floor, and they put down drop cloths everywhere they would be walking to get to and from the bedrooms. I was amazed at how quickly, yet cleanly, they painted. I had chosed a bold terra cotta for the 1 room, and a medium shade of lavender for the other. They cut in along the white ceiling with great precision - very clean lines! With colors as bold as what I picked, you can really see how talented they are. They also repainted the heating vent covers so they would look fresh. They were wonderful to work with, even though my dog got excited and peed on one of their drop cloths!! I will use their services again in a heartbeat. An excellent experience.

Matt was awesome! He was responsive, answered all of my questions, and was very friendly but professional. He was punctual, helped me picked the right stain for my deck, and made my deck look awesome!

Matt and his team did an incredible job doing a complete makeover on the 3000 sq ft home we recently purchased. Included in the price, was a paint color consultation with someone from Sherwin Williams, which we took advantage of. She came out to the house and helped me choose colors for the rooms to fit our family and lifestyle. Once the job started, the painters removed wallpaper in half of the house, and primed and repainted the ceilings and walls in every room in the entire house. They also did some exterior painting around the windows and entryway, and some grouting in the bathroom. They were very professional, punctual, responsive and flexible to our tight timeline between when we closed on the home and when we were moving in 2 weeks later. They even worked over the weekend. Matt also worked closely with the other contractors that we had in the house at the same time, so we could coordinate the painting with the carpet and hardwood installation. He would email us pictures daily so we could see the progress. We did realize that the wrong paint color was painted in the bathroom, and he had no issue getting the correct paint and repainting the bathroom. All in all, we are very pleased with how the house looks. And it looks 100% better than what it looked like when we bought it. Thanks MRP Painting! I initially had Matt, who deserves an Academy Award for communication, quote a price for the 3 bedrooms, bath, and kitchen. Once Paul (part of the team) started the work, I knew that I wanted MRP to do the rest of the house. The work was impeccable. Lines were precise and the colors brought my old row house into the 21st century. Not only was the work done of high quality but, the team was sooooo professional and punctual. Previous contractors didn't know how to tell time but not MRP. These guys know what customer service is all about. I even had help with choosing colors. And, they were able to take care of troublesome walls in the bathroom. Wish that Angie's List had another rating - A++. MRP Painting rocks!

Our building is difficult to access and security can be difficult to work with. Matt and his crew were punctual, professional and efficient. I have worked with many contractors in this building over the last 25 years and this was the best experience so far. I plan on using him for future office renovations in the near future. It was a relatively small job and his quote was far more reasonable than an interior fitout firm I used 5 years ago.
