 + -1 morehe went above and beyond. he fixed all our issues and made sure our electrical work was working great. he was so curtious of our daughter with special needs and he even fixed our light switch and breaker box while here i was amazed he made sure to explain what he was doing in a way i understood. his warranty is also so amazing we will definitely be using him for ALL our electrical needs

 + -1 moreGreat! What I like best about Greg is that he explains how to approach the problem, what he will do and provides a sense of what could complicate matters. His work is first rate, he cleans up afterward, and he is pleasant to be around. Prices were all up front and no extras added (some prices were lower than his estimate!). Not a typical contractor at all!
Description of Work: Full Disclosure: I have known Greg Avakian for many years and I think it's very safe to say that he is the kind of guy to treat his customers like his friends ...nonetheless, this review is about him as a contractor. Greg has done many projects in my home: from a new 200 amp service, to trouble-shooting problems, to installing new electrical lines, to full rehab of some gutted areas of my house. Prices from last 2 jobs: New 200 amp electrical service $1700 Ran new lines for 4 new outlets: $625 Replaced lights for $50 each (I bought the lights at home depot) Installed a ceiling fan for $145 Misc other work over the years.

Description of Work: The fire alarm system when off in my West Philadelphia converted row home. The tenants called the fire department. There was no fire but I was informed that there may be an electrical issue with the alarm system. I found Greg via Angie's list. He was able to quickly visit the property and confirm the issue. He also met with the fire code inspector the next day and helped me determine the next steps of action.

Description of Work: We were scheduled to have a dryer delivered and needed a seperate electrical outlet installed before the delivery. I checked Angie's list and decided to call Greg Avakian. On my first call I left a message and Greg contacted me the same day. I described the work we needed and received a quick lesson on the subject. I scheduled the installation and can say that Greg completed the job in a timely and professional manner.

 + -1 moreGreg was a professional, well-spoken gentleman from the start. He was respectful of our house, courteous to my wife, and even took time to show us exactly why our power had been going out. On his way out the door he insisted on blowing out our emergency candles because "cats and candles don't mix." Definitely a professional, quality electrician here.
Description of Work: Our power had been going off intermittently at our rental home for nearly a month, and today the breaker outside finally gave out in a giant puff of smoke. Greg came out at 8 PM on a Friday night and fixed the problem within fifteen minutes. He called beforehand to assess the problem and came prepared. He even took the time to explain to us what was broken.

I have extensive experience in re-wiring Victorian twins, repairing/replacing knob & tube, new services and especially fixing other people's work...! I am happy to do small jobs and I also do whole-house renovations. All my reviews on Angie's List are "A" rated and all my reviews on Yelp are 5 stars. My labor is guaranteed forever and I love my job.
