Our water heater broke on Sept 6, 2015. My parents (who lived in Lawndale section of Phila in the 60's) always used Goodman Plumbing as they were our " family plumber". Called Goodman Plumbing up on Sunday. ( 9/6/15). Call returned in 15 minutes and scheduled for THE NEXT DAY @ 8:30 am. We had hot water within 2 hours to our delight. What more can you ask for in this day and age? It is nice to know there are still family owned businesses that provide skill, professionalism and courteous service for decades and yes even a generation! My motto: Always go with local experienced contractors who have a proven history of delivering. I fully endorse Goodman Plumbing.

They were prompt and polite and clean. No mess left for me to clean up. All pricing was upfront. They are now my plumber and would recommend them to anyone who asks.

Goodman Plumbing is incredibly well managed. After I was unhappy with the results of an initial inspection, Goodman wiped out the initial charge and offered to personally re-inspect my system. They are both capable and fair, and I strongly recommend their services to others.

It went very well.. They came on time. They did their work very fast and they cleaned up before they left.

Ed and Dennis were super-informative, professional and personable. We felt we were in really good hands, and we're really happy with the service. They were up front about the cost from the start, were communicative about a schedule change and also took the time to communicate some preventative measures for drainage problems. Should we require their services again, we won't think twice.

I called because I had no hot water, and after determining that the gas was still on, called Goodman Plumbing after reviewing on Angie's List. I explained the situation over the phone, and the fact that money is tight. The person who answered was exceptionally helpful, and understanding of my issues, and was able to get someone to come a few hours later to look at the problem - free of charge for the consultation. The tech called me as promised a couple of hours later in the day to say he'd be there in half hour. He was prompt - a few minutes early, actually. I explained the problem, and he immediately diagnosed the issue, explaining everything (to someone - me - who knows nothing about this) in detail. Unfortunately, I'll need a new water heater, as the problem I have will simply keep returning if I don't get one. The tech was wiling to schedule my service for the day after, but I had to decline, but only because I cannot afford a new water heater and they will not install a used one. That said, he offered to get the hot water on, but because the problem will likely occur again soon, it would have been a waste of the charge to get the hot water on again. He saved us the service charge by being upfront and honest with us about that, so now instead of feeling cheated, we can put that money towards a new unit, which is what it really needs. , Don't get me wrong - the price is certainly reasonable compared to many on Angie's List that charge twice as much, but being on a fixed income, we simply can't afford a new hot water heater. Overall, prompt, courteous, and fair pricing. IF I could have afforded it, I would have definitely used the services further, and we will definitely be calling Goodman if the financial situation changes.

The provider was late. They took all the parts that were taken off my unit when I said we wanted it and not to take it. They have still not given us our guarantee information. They had issues getting the top off the well and I asked if they used liquid wrench. They replied with "No we urinated on it" They were very rude and were disrespectful when I asked to pay the next day due to the service being completed so late. I will not use them in the future.

Michael came out to give me an estimate on a household plumbing renovation job. He showed up on time and was courteous enough. Then I never heard back from him. I called to ask for the estimate, they told me they would send it to me before EOD the next day. Then I never received anything and they never called me back. Finally a week later I called and they promised me a phone call back. When they finally called me back I was told they didn't have the man power to do the job.

Plumber was very polite, friendly, and professional. He gave me estimate and had parts on his truck for the shutoff valves. He has to go to the supply store for the faucet, but was back in about 20 minutes. Total job took about 2 hours including his time to go to the store. I thought the price was maybe a tad high, but when you deal with a company rather than an individual, you are paying overhead. I understand that.and having said that,I was not disappointed in the job and would call them again.

Goodman Plumbing provided me with a quick estimate at a very reasonable rate. On the day of service, they arrived on time and were very professional. The plumbing work they performed was outstanding. I am very satisfied with the quality of there work and I will absolutely contact them again if I need more work done.

Driving out of the garage this morning, I noticed a small flood in the back of the garage coming from the ceiling. I was a nervous wreck given that it is a Saturday on Labor Day weekend holiday. Goodman Plumbing had done some work for me many years ago so I looked them up again on Angie's List and saw the really great reviews. I called around 11am and was told they could come out within the next four hours and would call on their way. (At non-emergency pricing, I must add!) Sean called at 1pm and said he'd arrive in half an hour, which he did, along with his assistant, John. Someone was watching over me for he instantly identified the problem as a pin hole leak in my water line from the kitchen-probably the best outcome possible given the minor flood! Before he started, I also showed him a toilet that was whistling and since I had a replacement part, he quickly fixed it at no charge which was so nice. Sean and John were here for a little over one and a half hours. Sean hammered a hole in the concrete ceiling (which I might have to repair but it is not urgent or really necessary), cut out and replaced the piece of copper with the leak. He told me precautions I could take with a bleach/water spray to inhibit any resulting mold. John cleaned up nicely. They were both professional, polite and friendly and put me at ease. Before they left, I had Sean give me estimates for some future work as I will definitely use them again and I will request them specifically. When I mentioned Angie's List, I was given the discounted rate. Very pleased! I can enjoy the rest of the weekend!

They came in the time when they said they were going to come. They were professional and replaced the parts that needed replacing. They also calked around the faucet. We had received another quote before them and Goodman's quote was much more reasonable. Thank you!!!

I called the Company and hired their drain-cleaning services. They arrived on time, and after 2x snaking the drain it was cleared in under 1 hour. Everything works perfectly. The price was $185-$25 Coupon= $160 my cost. I was a little disappointed with the price quote which I told them because on Angie's List Reviews the price for this service from 6/15-08/15 was $140-$150. Yet, even the $160 was a lot less than other "A" rated companies in the Philadelphia Metro region. I would hire them again for drain-cleaning or general Plumbing services.

Extremely professional. Two kind plumbers came out to our home (same day) and installed a water line for our new refrigerator. They inspected the broken disposal only to reveal a simple fix, which they took care of free of charge.

this is the 3rd time I've used this provider. They are priced fairly, they are prompt, professional and competent. You can't ask for more than that. Could I have shopped this job around and saved a few $$ ? Maybe but I'd rather stick with someone I have confidence in. When they found out I was a repeat Angie's list customer, they knocked a few $$ off.

Two plumbers arrived on time. When I told them of and showed them the problem, they tried and failed to find the main house drain pipe near the street. They then tried to find an alternate route in. Unfortunately, because the machine was too large, they were unable to bring it into the basement, either through the garage entry or a downstairs door. Therefore, they tried to get to the clog through a pipe in the garage. This too was unsuccessful. As a result they said they would need to pull up the toilet to clear the blockage for a charge of $215. Because they had also found a leak in the basement, they said that putting a wax seal on the toilet would resolve this issue. The two completed both of these tasks in a timely manner. However, the carpet was left up in my basement with a filing cabinet pulled out of the way. The cover for the pipe in the garage had been bent and would not seal back on appropriately. I will probably need to hammer it down. Further, I am not confident that the wax seal will indeed fix the leak problem in the basement. The plumber looking at this took a brief look around with a flashlight and didn't seem to want to take the time to really assess the situation. As I was paying he noted that the work would not be guaranteed, given that he could not find the main drain pipe near the street. When I asked about the leak and the wax seal, he said that it shouldn't leak, but if the wetness doesn't clear that I should call a plumber. He corrected himself and said, you should call us. I would have preferred to know that the work was not guaranteed prior to the work being completed. In any case, after some grumbling that he had already cut me a break on pricing, he did take my coupon. I should note that I have used this plumbing service several times in the last year and given that information alone, a coupon should not have been a problem. Finally, I did not appreciate being condescendingly referred to as "hun", when I am likely this man's same age or older. UPDATED DETAIL (Dates of service: 8/22 and 8/24): Robert Goodman called me the day after I had written this review, genuinely concerned about the experience. He asked if he could send a plumber on Saturday to reassess the leak, find the drain pipe near the street, fix the caps on the toilet (which did not fit to cover the bolts), and take care of the cover for the pipe in the garage. Two plumbers arrived on Saturday morning, and John (who was very professional and explained things thoroughly) investigated the leak and fixed all other issues along with his partner, just as Mr. Goodman promised. The only issue that could not be fixed was the cover for the pipe in the garage, which had been bent. John promised that they would return on Monday (if that would work for me) with a new cap, in that they could not secure a new one from a warehouse over the weekend. Sure enough, on Monday afternoon, I received a call from Mike who arrived and installed the new cap in a matter of minutes. He too was very professional. I have used Goodman Plumbing on several occasions and have never before had problems, such as those referenced above. Mr. Goodman's call and subsequent actions (sending out additional plumbers to correct the previous work) have assured me that he cares about the quality of work and his customers. I will continue to use Goodman plumbing in the future.

Mike from Goodman came out to give the initial estimate. He showed up on time. Greeted myself and even my dog. Diagnosed the problem and told me what he would do when he came out. I've used Goodman many times in the past and made an appointment right then and there for Mike to come back out and do the job. He showed up on time, walked me through what he was going to do and went to work! This is all after they had a backup at a very large job earlier that day. Mike took the time to come out and do my job as scheduled. A+ in my book and they will get all my future business!!

Our line to the out front sewer was clogged. We called the city thinking it would be their jurisdiction, but surprise, it was our problem. Anyway, they gave us 10 days to rectify the issue. We had sewer water coming in a small trickle out of the drain near the street at the end of our driveway. So gross. Anyway, I called Goodman on a Sunday in the late afternoon and someone answered. They said they would be out the next morning around 8a. They were actually early. I showed them the letter from the city and they knew what to do. 10 minutes later, the drain was cleared and they were finished. They even had a coupon on their web site that got us a discount. Professional and very nice. Highly recommend.

The mechanics name was Dewayne he came out in a timely matter, went quick, and once I settle they will be the company I use. The provided with a very decently priced estimate.

We woke up that morning to find our old water heater leaking (it was over 11 years old). We called Goodman after checking them out on Angie's list because they had installed the old one. They had excellent ratings, so we called them around 9am. The new unit was installed and operational by 1pm. They also added new shutoff valves and disposed of the old unit. It took them more time to go and pick up the new unit than it did for them to remove the old one and install the new one. These guys were real pros. The office staff answering the phone was also very responsive and communicative. We were never left wondering where they were or when they were coming. When they were done, they warned me that some Philly neighborhoods get high water pressures at night, which could set off the pressure release valve. He said that they wouldn't know if it was a problem in our neighborhood until it happened, and if it did, to call them back and they'd install a regulator. They could have tried to sell it to me right off, but they didn't, and I appreciate their ethics. I'll definitely use this company again in the future.

We run a Property Management company and constantly use vendors for their various services. It was encouraging to find Goodman to be very professional and responsive. Had someone at the property right away and fixed it in no time.

Jimmy and his son came out on a Saturday to rescue me from a DIY Faucet replacement. None of today's standard supply lines would fit the 1959 plumbing under my sink. Plus the existing shut off valves did not properly shut off the water. Audrey from Goodman Plumbing did an excellent job handling my appointment. The communication was excellent and they arrived exactly when they promised. Jimmy was very polite and professional. He quickly assessed the situation and provided a fair estimate for the job. They were in and out in 30 minutes! It was a bit pricey but they did high quality job. Very clean. Very courteous. Very good at what they do. I am very happy with the job they did and will definitely use Goodman Plumbing again. Thank you!

They came right away and right when they said they would. They were very professional and easy to deal with. It is clear that customer service is a top priority.

The service provider fixed my leak by caulking all of the fixtures around the shower.
