+ -1 moreI ended up not hiring Goodman because they could not do the work that day, and a competitor could -- that's why I don't feel comfortable leaving an 'A', since I haven't seen Goodman's work. Nevertheless, I had a positive experience. The estimator, Mike, was professional, friendly, and prompt. He was willing to work with me on a for-now fix while helping me understand the scope and price of getting the drainage system up to code. The price quoted was a bit steeper than the company I went with, but nothing too egregious -- like they were in the same ballpark so I think the price was fair. Friendly office staff who didn't mind messaging me even on a holiday. I'd consider using them for future work, especially since they have emergency 24/7 availability.
Description of Work: I had an old rusted-out cast iron pipe that was nearing catastrophic levels of thinning and cracking. I needed it replaced, and fast, before other workers came to do work in the basement -- I knew that one wrong bump or dropped wrench could spell disaster! I had an immediate issue that needed fixing ASAP as well as wanting to know what else I'd need to do in the future to remediate the former owners' workarounds as far as rainwater removal.

When we called to inform Goodman that we needed plumbing services, Mike came out promptly, scoped our system with a camera to locate the problem, took time to explain, at length, what work needed to be done, and gave us a price that we regarded as fair. He was great at responding to our questions. The workers arrived on time and ready to work. They worked steadily and were very friendly in responding to our questions. They did their work well and finished when they said they world. Goodman should take pride in the caliber of their people. We were pleased with the work they did and the post-job cleanup. Goodman is now our plumber of choice.
Description of Work: Dig into wall and into floor to replace a cracked pipe and connect it to our main sewer line.

+ -1 moreOverall not a bad experience. They were very responsive - it was after noon on a Monday when I made the initial call to Goodman and by 4pm they had arrived and replaced the sump pump. Only thing that gives me pause was the following: He initially quoted $585 after arriving and assessing the situation - he had to "call his boss" to confirm the estimate first though. He then said he could apply a $35 coupon to get it down to $550. We were in a bad spot, and I'd never had work like this done so I just said yes. While he was working I did some research and actually found an article on Angie's List showing that AL members paid an average of $440 to get this kind of work done in 2015, with the highest cost paid reported as $538. Felt at that point that Goodman was pushing it. When the work was done I tried diplomatically to get a break on the price so he lowered it to $525, and I agreed to it. I noted that this time he didn't need to call his boss to authorize the new price....seemed sketchy. I can't quibble over other aspects - they were very responsive/timely and the plumber was helpful in explaining how to maintain the new sump pump. Still the issue over the cost left an off taste in my mouth - don't feel like they were entirely forthright and offered their best estimate. Not 100% certain I'd go with Goodman again.

+ -1 moreGreat! Pretty sure the leak is fixed and will definitely call Goodman Plumbing again. As this was a quick "estimate" of the problem and no real repair was needed other than tightening connections, I wasn't charged. Prompt and professional service.
Description of Work: I discovered a leak under our kitchen sink this morning and could not find the source. After trying to call or "chat" with several other companies who couldn't come until tomorrow or didn't give me a time frame I called Goodman Plumbing. A real person answered the phone and was able to schedule me for a specific time frame, between 12-4. I got a call around 12 that the plumber was on the way. Nick arrived soon after and checked the sink and pipes and tightened connections which seems to have fixed the problem. I learned a little more about the connections and the pros and cons of pvc vs chrome.

+ 0 morePlumer was unable to clean the pipe from our side and then suggested that a hole be cut into the main sewer pipe which is located in my garage. Before giving this plumer the ok I asked serval question which included "would there be a guarantee" and the plumer said there would be a 30 work guaranteed. This was all a telephone conversation as I was at work the time. When I arrived home from work and saw my invoice I noticed that the invoice said no guarantee. The following day I called the company early in the morning and asked to speak to the plumer re the guarantee that he had promised and was told the the plumer would return my call. Later that day around 3pm I received a called from the office asking me if I wanted to scheduled for someone to come out and give me a quote about further work, I then explained to lady who called that I was waiting on a call from the plumer and hadn't received it yet and agin asked her to let me speak to him or a manager. The lady who wouldn't give me her name stated that she was the manager and that there wasn't someone there that I could talk to.... long story short this company is lacking professionalism and better communication skills! The lady who I later found out is named Andrea, hung up the phone on me and wouldn't comunicate me with anyone else.

+ -1 moreI called to schedule the appointment I spoke with a Secretary I believe her name was Andrea she put me on hold which was fine but when she picked back up she was very rude and trying to rush me off the phone i did get an apt right away I was scheduled between 12 and 4 the plumber Stan didn't show up till after 4 he was very nice but very fidgety he looked like he hasn't slept in days his eyes were blood shot he could barely stay still I honestly thought he was on coke or speed he gave me a decent price but I decided to go with another plumber and pay the few extra dollars cause I truly believe he was on some kind of drugs im not one to complain but I wasn't trying to take the chance of him actually being a drug addict and screwing something up. My advice to you mr.goodman drug test your employees.

+ -1 moreThe faucet was replaced and functioned satisfactorily. The 2 staff members, Sean and Cisco, were very polite and respectful. However, as they pulled away, I observed two seafoam colored stains on the asphalt behind my home. I had had the driveway and alley way repaved last August to the tune of $6.000.00. Neither of the employees of Goodman Plumbing alerted me to the spill before they left the premises. There was a clear stain around the spills that gave the impression that an attempt was made to wash off the stains. I attempted to remove the stains with a strong water stream from a hose without success. The stain is the same color as the sealant used to connect the new faucet to the water pipe.
Description of Work: Replacement of an outdoor faucet.

+ -1 moreThey were great that is why I brought them back. They are pricey but they know their stuff. My shower was not working and it was 3 years ago. They found out that stuff was not up to code. They are good plumbers I know that. They are expensive, they are expensive. They are good they are really good. They are a little pricey. If you want your stuff done right then go with them. They do the job. I would absolutely use them again, I would not call anyone else.
Description of Work: Replaced some things in my kitchen, and replaced a bathtub shower thing. They cleaned the drain. They had to replace valves that were not there.

+ -1 moreThey are really good. The reason that was so high of a cost is because they could not get the old one out and a new one in with out taking out my washer and dryer. They are good they are really good. They had to do a lot of work. They were good. He had to quote me that because they had to do more work than they should have. They could not get the stuff out unless they moved stuff. I still liked them, I trust them. You get what you pay for. I have used them for several different things. They are pricey but they are good. I would absolutely use them again.

All pricing was up front. No problem to accept the Angie's list discount coupon. I am very grateful and 1000% happy.

+ -1 moreExcellent as usual, I have used Goodman many times and each time was an excellent experience. The plumber came on time, he introduced himself and ask me what the issue was. He attentively listen, then I showed him where the sink was. He examined the underside of the sink and gave me a detailed explanation of what I needed. He did not at no time try and sell me something I did not need. Once I gave the ok, he went right to work. It took approximately an hour. When the work was completed, he called me and showed me everything that was done. He even cleaned the area he worked in. Then he gave me written invoice explaining all the work done and what was replaced. I used goodman in the past and will continue to use goodman. I highly recommend them for all your plumbing needs.

Description of Work: The main sewer line in my Mom’s house had broken and collapsed. The house was barely habitable. I needed to quickly contract a plumber. I found two highly rated plumbers on Angie’s List. One was Dwayne from Goodman, who replied to my Saturday morning call with a few hours and agreed to meet me that day. Since we were in a hurry to get this repair complete, I had also called another Angie’s List plumber. He also agreed to provide an estimate at the same time. Avoiding a potentially uncomfortable situation with two plumbers onsite together, Dwayne agreed to wait around the corner from my mom’s house and would meet me after the first plumber completed his estimate. This was the ultimate in customer service and professionalism. When Dwayne arrived, he quickly surveyed the job and provided me with a written estimate before he left. His bid, along with the other bid, were within $200 of each other on a job that was approximately $7,000. I knew that in Dwayne and the other plumber, we had two professional tradesmen, either of whom I would have comfortable with completing this large job. We initially selected Dwayne and Goodman Plumbing. I left Dwayne a voicemail message on Sunday with the news. But first thing on Monday morning, I received a call from the second plumber. He and his estimator had miscommunicated on the scope of the job and he told me that his price was $1,000 less. After determining why there was a miscommunication and why there was now such a large price difference, I had to call Dwayne to see if he could match the price. He indicated that he could not. So we had no choice but to go with the other plumber due to the price difference. It was not fun telling Dwayne that he no longer had the job, but he again was the ultimate professional. He remained upbeat and offered his services for any future work. So while Dwayne and Goodman did not get my business for this job, I still wanted to provide a positive review for them. They were responsive, flexible, and very professional. I am very comfortable that they would have done a fine job. I would not hesitate to use them in the future.
