over charged and ended up having to bring in another plumber

Late on a Friday afternoon, I had an emergency clog in a property I own: any time the tenants tried to use water, a drain gurgled up. Tried a national company known for their emergency services--at first they told me they'd be there within two hours, then called to say they'd be delayed. A couple of hours later I asked if the house could be first on the list for Saturday morning. We were first on their list. After spending 6 hours at the house, they weren't precisely sure where the clog was and and told me they would have to come back, excavate, tear apart part of some basement steps and see what they found. For a pricetage of $4,650. And they couldn't come back until Wednesday. My tenants couldn't use the water and the repair couldn't be completed for another 4 days. Enter Goodman. At around 5pm on Saturday I put a call in to their answering service. By around 5:20 I got a call back from my plumber in shining armor, Nick Hollister. I explained the issue to him hoping Goodman could come before Wednesday. Nick told me his drain guy would come in the morning, explore the pipe with a camera and hopefully clear it (I was skeptical). In the event he couldn’t clear it, excavation activities would either be done that afternoon or by Monday afternoon at the latest. At the worst, I’d be up and running two days earlier than the other guys. Bright and early Sunday Goodman’s drain guy arrived on the scene. Within an hour, he cleared the clog (it was tree roots) and the water was running freely—better than it had been in ages. He identified a broken snake that the other guys had gotten stuck and left behind. After making sure I didn’t want the other guys to come back and fix the problem they created, Nick cut open the pipe, removed the faulty snake and then replaced the pipe piece including an escape valve for easier future access. My total for the day was under $1,500. Throughout the process, Nick called to keep me updated on the project. He sent me pictures, camera footage that showed me inside the pipe, work plans. He explained exactly what was going to happen and the cost. When they recovered the snake, he told me that the other company should be responsible for reimbursing me and agreed to speak with them if I needed support for my claim. (The other company has agreed to refund me what I paid them and to reimburse me $825 for the removal of the snake and required pipe repair making my final outlay under $600.) In short, I’ll never go anywhere else but Goodman for my plumbing needs.

They came on a Sunday and let me use a coupon. They were on time, they came in did the job within an hour and cleaned up left. They showed even showed me their ID when they came.

Very well! We were told that our grill was up to code and didn't need any repairs.

Called for service because the basement flooded when I used the washing machine. However, I had been taking my clothes to a laundromat and I hadn't used the laundry room in months. The plumber ran the washer several times, but the drain did not back up. He went outside to check the sewage line, but could not access the line. He recommended using a camera to look for a blockage if the problem happens again, but he could not recreate the problem during his visit.

Very well (other than the plumbing). The plumber on call called back in 20 or 30 minutes and came out that same night to install a valve (there was none) to shut off the water to the heater, then came out the next morning (a Sunday) to install a new heater. Because of tight spacing, it was not a simple job. Nick and the other plumber (forgot name) were courteous and professional.

Goodman came in on Friday and diagnosed the problem while the pump was short cycling, .On Sunday at 3am the pump started to fry. But Goodman was already schedule for Sunday at 9am and replace the pump and tank.

Great. On time . Communicative . These guys did a great job .

They wrapped the pipes and showed me what to do to prevent any future busting of the pipes. They cut the damaged pipes and inserted new pipes and wrapped them. The next year I knew what to do to be prepared. They came out quick and I appreciated that.

I decided to install a 50 gallon rather than the 40 gallon tank. The unit so that a relief valve was wedged against a wall rendering it totally unusable. I was not happy and posted so, with a picture. I should have followed up with a call but I was too busy. Shortly after posting the owner called. He was not happy with the work and wanted the opportunity to set it right. He sent someone over quickly to resolve the issue and presented me wth a gift card as well. Considering his prompt call to my post and quick resolution, I have revised my review. Someone who eagerly sets thing right is someone I'd continue to do business with!

Goodman was prompt in answering our call. They sent George who was really great in fixing the leaks and in referring us to other companies that we would need to follow through on the water damage that needed to be addressed. Would definitely use Goodman's services and hopefully have George again to service our future plumbing needs!

My husband and I got estimates from 3 different plumbing companies before deciding to go with Goodman -a decision that we do not regret... Joe (and his son) did an EXCELLENT job installing all new drain pipes in 2 of our bathrooms. They showed up on time, worked hard all day, and cleaned up beautifully. The (large) job was finished on time, and on budget (except for an additional repair that was needed -not their fault). I would not hesitate to hire them again!!

I chose Goodman's Plumbing because of the great reviews I saw on Angie's List and called early in the afternoon to see when they were available - and was surprised when they told me they could fit me in the same afternoon (which was good news since there are storms forecasted for the rest of the week)! They gave me a call when they were 30 mins out and arrived promptly - checked out the basement and then cleaned the sewer drain quickly and professionally. They found roots in the drain and suggested I follow up with a camera inspection (which I had already asked about), which I hope to schedule in the near future! Not only were they polite, professional, and speedy, they answered all my questions, made suggestions about and even reminded me there was a coupon online that I could use to reduce the cost of the sewer cleaning! Overall, it was a great experience!

First, the mechanical is described in the below review. I have an appliance safety testing engineering background, "Applied Physics". I added a non-asbestos blanket product with the foil reflecting the Range heat away from the wall. (Wooden blocks and other combustibles). Second, I should mention that I plan to lay drop cloths on the top of the range, in the space behind (leave 4-6" for heat to rise). prepare the black iron pipe with rubbing alcohol, slide cardboard behind the valve and pipe, and then brush metal paint to match tile. William and helper Jake took time to review what I wanted and did a caring and professional job. They even drilled the wooden blocking to avoid splitting the wood as I asked them to. Now, we are safe.The family member can cook, but only when a person with the padlock is present! HBB

Great. I discovered HWH was leaking more than normal at spout (HWH was at least 15 y.o.) in the early evening. The HWH was drained (with the help of another person) and I called Goodman Plumbing. Contractor was able to come out the next day (around 10am and was done by 11:30am approx.) I was so grateful that he was able to come and do the replacement so quickly. The contractor was personable.
