Description of Work: Repair plaster ceiling. He is technically very good, and a very nice person. If you have a lot of time then he's your man, but if you want something done fast then find someone else.

The whole project went extremely well. Pat was there every day that any work was being done by subs, and he was very dependable. We always knew what was going to be done in the coming week, and in more detail each day. We liked his subs, who did the framing and roofing, the AC, and the electricity. There were no hidden costs or surprises. The space on the 3rd floor turned out to be spectacular, and we were wildly happy with the whole process and the results. There were a few delays here and there because of the weather, or illness, but no surprises or disappearing contractor problems. One other thing that we really appreciated was that Pat was very easy to talk to. He listened well, and put up with our constant requests for things like "ultra low VOC paint," concerns about dust and smells, and so forth. We all miss him now that he's done, and that includes our yellow lab. I can't imagine a better experience.
Description of Work: We had our walkup 3rd floor attic converted into a living space (about 500 square feet). Pat's team included an architect and a structural engineer, which we needed because of some major design and structural issues encountered in creating the space, supporting the changes to the roof, and making up for some weird design deficiencies in our 85 year old Dutch Colonial. As part of the work, Pat also installed central air conditioning for the first and second floors, and a heat pump to provide AC and heat for the 3rd floor. Finally, Pat installed exhaust fans in two of our bathrooms, and painted one bathroom and the master bedroom. The work on the third floor involved adding new beams that supported the dormer and tied into the floor joists on the 3rd floor, building a complicated dormer on one side of the roof, putting a new roof on that side as well, insulating the 3rd floor, installing lighting and hardwood floors on the 3rd floor, putting in all new windows on the 3rd floor, and doing all painting on the 3rd floor. Pat also built a number of built-in book shelves on the 3rd floor, and built two beautiful built-in book cases in bedrooms on the 2nd floor to disguise the AC vents running from the 3rd floor down to the first floor.

The floors were $2,000 and the window was about $1,000. He was a really good guy. He was like a normal typical contractor; he had a bunch of tools with him. I wanted a special windowsill and he was able to make it out of wood to match the other one. I would use him again.
Description of Work: I used Godfrey Remodeling to install hardwood floors in my living room and a window in my family room.

OK--some delays due to scheduling and general winter inconvenience problems.

Mr. Godfrey was GREAT! He provided a free estimate, was polite and kind and very professional. He was also very prompt! He did a great job!
Description of Work: He fixed the heating ducts in the basement and he also fixed it so that my dryer vent went outside (not necessarily the easiest of jobs)

I have used Pat Godfrey multiple times. This time I called him to replace a window that was leaking terribly and damaging the inside of our house. His price was fair and I commissioned him to do the work. He was able to replace some the custom, one of a kind, trim work around the edges of the window. It matched the existing trim work perfectly. He also replaced damaged wallboard, wall studs, and floor trim. The project was 2 days long and he kept his work area very clean and organized, which was a big plus because the work area was in the living room. Dust and debris was contained and his attention to detail made the window look better than new. Thanks.
Description of Work: Repaired leaking window, replaced windows, replaced all of the custom trim work, installed new wallboard, reframed garage door opening, replaced ceiling joists
