GMF Interior Installations LLC

I contracted GMF Interior Installations, LLC for renovations at my property on March 13, 2013. Per their contract, each particular job had a particular cost with regards to its parts and workmanship. The contract also spelled out a time of completion. This time has long expired and the work is not completed and some of that which has been completed, needs to be redone. With the expiration of the first completion date (4-12-13), came the second (5-9-13), and the third (6-11-13), then the fourth (7-19-13), and so on and so on. As of 8-26-13 the work is still not completed. The excuses they gave for the unreasonable and excessive delay in completing the contracted work ranged from hardship, to non-reliable workers, mismanagement of money, unregistered vehicle towed, car trouble, as well as health factors. With regards to their compensation I have been punctual with all payments and although the schedule payments were to follow the work performed, there has been an obvious disparity where I have paid out of pocket $29,567.89 without half the work being completed. Nevertheless, I remained patient although GMF had breached the contract. I have sought other contractors from Angie?s List to assess the remaining work, as well as the work that needs redoing. When the 1st contractor came on 8-26-13, he just kept apologizing for me paying out almost $30,000.00 and his exact words were, ?For what?? I knew a number of items had to be redone due to lack of quality, but this contractor pointed out to me so many things that I wasn?t even aware of. After meeting with this contractor, I kindly called Mr. Flowers who hasn?t answered nor returned any of my calls since I expressed to him on 8-22-13 my frustration of how he is not showing up at my property at all for days at a time, and when he does it?s only for approximately 30 minutes top (if that). I then called Ms. Burton (his business partner) and she stated that Mr. Flowers stated he will complete everything by 8-31-13. Due to his inability to keep any of his previous promises and deadlines, plus provide quality service with the work he has completed, I asked Ms. Burton to tell him thank you but no thank you. I must express my personal feeling of how this whole experience with hiring GMF Interior Installations, LLC has been full of nothing but shenanigans, lies, and unprofessionalism. I feel abused and deceived by their inaction and inability to complete the work in the allotted time. They took my money under false pretenses, with the notion that they would be able to do quality work in a certain amount of time and that has proven to be false. I have sympathized with their stance time after time, but they have failed to sympathize with mine. I have expressed these same exact words to GMF Interior Installations, LLC and I am warning anyone who is considering doing business with this company to please think twice? ?BUYER BEWARE, YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!!!?

I then went on Angie's List and looked up contractors who worked in my area and got them to provide multiple quotes for the house which included structural items, carpentry, flooring, electrical, and more... I met Gary Flowers through a personal reference for a contractor and could not be happier. Gary handily beat all the other prices I was getting, and his work is top quality. He does most of the work himself, but he has a team that sill come in for specialized tasks, such as the electrical and plumbing items. His business partner, Tracy, handles all the contracts and scheduling. She is responsive to any of my questions, and will make you feel very comfortable with your decision. In addition to Gary's work, I am working in other areas of the house and he provides insight and recommendations. The small things like this make a difference because you know the contractor cares about the larger project, not just getting his dollar moving onto the next project. I would highly recommend GMF Interior Installations for any of your remodeling or construction needs. I know I'll be using them again when I need more work in the future.
